  • Jingle Balls, Jingle Balls

by Ttob on 12/18/24TD Garden - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

It was a great experience. A great family event. My daughter was glowing. It was smooth right from the start. Everyone at TD Garden was super helpful and kind. We were way out there in Section 307 but it did not make a difference. It was a FUN night. The music, the lighting, the performances were all worth it. Thank you.

The acts were excellent & the hosts were even better! I loved the family friendly feel and truly enjoyed it all ending at 9pm on a Sunday night! I wasn’t even in bed past my bedtime! Perfection from beginning to end!

  • BEST LINEUP EVER just some minor things

by GS on 12/18/24TD Garden - BostonRating: 4 out of 5

I'm gonna give the pros and cons of each of the artists that performed here! KATSEYE: - Con: The crowd didn't stand up for them which was massively disrespectful, like Boston. You have the most HYPE lineup ever and you couldn't stand for ONE artist? You could stand for Twenty One Pilots despite not knowing anything other than the Blurryface hits and Heathens... also KATSEYE needed headset mics, NOT handheld mics, the full "Debut"and "Touch"choreography would have been impressive because it seemed like the handheld was getting in the way. Their setlist could have also been longer, like I bet they could've performed all of SIS (Soft is Strong) in time. Also I wish their marketing team let them publicly acknowledge all of the artists there (and in DFW too). - Pro: As with all of their performances, they danced and sang live. Truly one of the best sets of the night. They were also the only artist that actually waved to the crowd before performing, it says a lot about how truly kind these girls are! I also ended up in their recap video by waving back to Sophia so I'm a part of KATSEYE lore. The Kid LAROI: - Con: For some reason, his performance isn't right next to Tate's. I did some research myself and he's popular enough to be next to Tate in the lineup, some other combinations had him AFTER Tate in terms of fame. Come on now, Laroi and Tate are dating, might as well let them. He also had a broken mic at the beginning. I also think his setlist was too safe by only having his best hits compared to the others. - Pro: HE WAS AWESOME! And he performed a Christmas cover for Jingle Ball even though he didn't dress festively, so there's points in effort there. Meghan Trainor: - Con: I'm not the biggest fan of Meghan in general because of her comments on teachers in the United States and her overall misogyny and lowkey cultural appropriation in her songs. Given how stacked the rest of the lineup was, her set kinda faded into the background. There's also that weird robot that sings with one of her songs which totally didn't fit her vibe. - Pro: At least she's a hometown hero (even though she's technically from Nantucket, not Boston). Kesha: - Con: I'm not saying SHE should've been family friendly, but I am saying the parents should have known better and gotten their kids out earlier, because I sat in the aisle and there were so many parents rushing their kids out the door for this section blocking my view of the queen. It's kinda ironic since Meghan also sings raunchy stuff but the beat kept the kids in (she performed Made You Look where she talked about getting naked... Kesha did the same thing and THAT'S when parents rushed out). Twenty One Pilots after never curses in their songs and out of everyone are probably the most kid friendly meaning they had to rush back IN since everybody knew like three songs max from them, which sucked. - Pro: THEY GOT FREAKING KESHA and this is only one of her two Jingle Ball cities. Also she's an inspiration to Lara and Sophia so I'm glad they got to meet her. Kesha obviously ate up the entire ball. Twenty One Pilots: - Con: Everybody clearly was waiting for Heathens-Ride-Stressed Out and didn't know their first stuff. They did NOT deserve Tyler going into the crowd, which speaks a lot about Tyler and Josh being so nice to indulge them in TOP concert antics. - Pro: Their performance was crazy as always, and Tyler seemingly had an off-script moment (which I hope is real) of stopping his setlist to perform Christmas songs for Rosie. I'm in a good spot so I made it in the video Josh made of it! I'm forever a part of TOP lore as well, crazy I got into videos of my top 2 artists! Benson Boone: - Con: He didn't perform on key, which... in my opinion, that was one of the most impressive things about his songs. He still did the screams which was nice, and I understand vocal preservation and other artists did the same thing, but it was prevalent here since he's known for his range. - Pro: Benson can't really go wrong, he has a good physique and I'm glad people my age are being successful (this also goes to KATSEYE, Laroi, and Tate). And his flips were iconic! If I wasn't so into TOP and KATSEYE then I would be bumping his music more, we'll see. Oh and Sophia got to meet him lol Tate McRae: - Con: GIVE HER A HEADSET MIC LIKE KATSEYE!!! She's clearly dancing to her songs. Also some of her songs just let the backtrack play and she sings the same note which was kinda disappointing, like girl show off your range! Laroi sorta did the same thing but it wasn't the whole song like Tate. At least she did "you broke me first"the whole way. Also given KATSEYE revealed they did a Mean Girls reference promo she kinda stole that for her intro. - Pro: I understand the hype around this girl (though I respectfully believe Kesha is still the most iconic in this lineup and should have been the headliner). She dances well and what she did sing was nice. And I love her friendship with KATSEYE!

  • First Jingle Ball

by Lynn on 12/18/24TD Garden - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

This was my first Jingle Ball and my 13 year olds first concert! We had the best time! My daughter was so excited to see Tate! I personally loved 21 Pilots especially when they got the crowd singing Christmas songs for his 5 year old daughter- the true magic of Christmas! I loved seeing the Kiss 108 crew on stage and walking around - so fun! I listen everyday! Can’t wait to go again next year. This will be a new tradition for sure!

  • Boston Jingle Ball

by Vic on 12/18/24TD Garden - BostonRating: 3 out of 5

Everyone sounded great. I gave it a 3 star because I love The Kid Laroi and it somehow took 2 songs for crew to give him a new microphone… they are already singing limiter sets and not hearing two whole songs was a huge disappointment.
