About

Known for his scene stealing abilities, actor, producer, writer and comedian Ken Jeong has established himself as one of today's top comedic stars. Since his feature film debut playing the doctor in KNOCKED UP in 2007, Jeong has gone on to create memorable roles on both TV and film.

Jeong can currently be seen as a panelist on "The Masked Singer," the hit show that received an Emmy nomination in the category of "Outstanding Competition Program" in 2020. Jeong is also the host and executive producer of "I Can See Your Voice," as well as a panelist on "The Masked Dancer." We're calling Wednesday "Kensday." The actor can recently be seen in Mike Meyers' Netflix limited series "The Pentaverate" alongside Meyers, Keegan-Michael Key, Debi Mazar, Richard McCabe, Lydia West and Jennifer Saunders. The comedy series is about a secret society that has been working to control world events since 1347. Jeong can also recently be seen in Will Arnett's "Murderville," Netflix's new series where Arnett and his celebrity guests improvise their way through a murder investigation without a script.

Up next, Jeong will be seen in AppleTV+'s "The Afterparty" alongside Elizabeth Perkins, Zach Woods, Paul Walter Hauser, Poppy Liu, Anna Konkle, Jack Whitehall and Vivian Wu, as well as returning stars Tiffany Haddish, Sam Richardson and Zoë Chao. Season 2 will revolve around a murder at a wedding, which Richardson and Chao taking on lead duties solving the crime, with Haddish back as Detective Danner.

Prior to headlining "Kensday" on FOX, Jeong starred on ABC's "Dr. Ken", where he was the creator, writer, and Executive Producer. He also was a series regular on the critically acclaimed NBC show "Community" from 2009-2015, which won the Critics' Choice Award for Best Comedy Series in 2012. In 2015, Jeong directed an ESPN 30 for 30 documentary Student Athlete, and he also starred in and produced the Sundance award-winning film ADVANTAGEOUS which received an Independent Spirit Award nomination.

In addition to his work on "Dr. Ken" and "Community," the actor can be seen on TV hits such as "The Office", "Entourage", and "Curb Your Enthusiasm." In 2008, Jeong had his first major film role opposite Paul Rudd and Seann William Scott as the villain in David Wain's ROLE MODELS. That same year he also appeared in the cult comedy hits PINEAPPLE EXPRESS and STEP BROTHERS. In May of 2009, Jeong appeared as the Asian-mobster "Mr. Chow" in the sleeper-hit comedy THE HANGOVER also starring Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms and Zach Galifianakis, which earned Jeong an MTV Movie Award in 2010, and in which the film itself won The Golden Globe for Best Comedy/Musical and Critics' Choice Award for "Best Comedy" in 2010. The film was the highest-grossing R-rated comedy to date, with over $467 million worldwide, only to be trumped by THE HANGOVER PART II, which grossed $581 million worldwide. Jeong reprised his iconic role in THE HANGOVER PART III. His other film credits include CRAZY RICH ASIANS, PINEAPPLE EXPRESS, STEP BROTHERS, RIDE ALONG 2, TRANSFORMERS: DARK OF THE MOON, COUPLES RETREAT, GOOSEBUMPS 2 and TOM & JERRY among a steady list of roles.

Jeong has lent his voice to a plethora of animated films and was recently heard in Netflix's Oscar-Nominated OVER THE MOON, Warner Brothers' SCOOB, and Disney's LADY AND THE TRAMP. Jeong's other voice over credits include "The Casagrandes", WONDER PARK, and MY LITTLE PONY, among a lengthy list.

In February 2019, Jeong returned to his stand-up roots for his first-ever hit Netflix comedy special, "Ken Jeong: You Complete Me, Ho", which earned him a People's Choice nomination for "The Comedy Act of 2019." Filmed at The Ice House Comedy Club in Pasadena, California, where Jeong first got his start in comedy, the special reflects on how he went from being a doctor to a comedy superstar. He opens up about how his wife's courageous battle with breast cancer led to him starring in one of the biggest comedy franchises of all time, THE HANGOVER, and more recently, CRAZY RICH ASIANS.

Jeong's career path started off on a different course. He earned his undergraduate degree at Duke University and went on to get his medical degree at the University of North Carolina. Jeong completed his Internal Medicine residency in New Orleans all the while developing his comedy. In 1995, Jeong won the Big Easy Laff Off. The competition, which was judged by former NBC President Brandon Tartikoff and Improv founder Budd Friedman, turned out to be his big break as Tartikoff and Friedman urged Jeong to head to Los Angeles.

Jeong dedicates his spare time to volunteering with Stand Up 2 Cancer, which is a cause very close to his heart. Ken has also been very outspoken on the rise in racism and hate crimes against the AAPI community in the last year. He is using his platform to call attention to these issues and advocate for change in hopes of having a lasting impact. He currently resides in Los Angeles with his wife and twin daughters.

    More Concert Than Comedy

    by FAMPM16 on 10/11/22Dolby Theatre - Hollywood

My friends and I purchased these tickets thinking we were going to a comedy show and not a concert. The opening act and MC were funny. Ken and Joel were funny, but it seamed more like a Community (TV show) reunion with storytelling about Community than actual joke telling or stand up. I was really disappointed when it went from a comedy show to a concert when they brought out Robin Thicke & Nicole Scherzinger to do a combined 5 songs which included a drawn out version of Blurred Lines. If I wanted to see a concert/musical act, I would have bought tickets to a concert and not a comedy show. Most of the time during the music, Joel was just hanging out in the background looking like he had nothing to do with what was going on. They lost 1 star for the music, and 1 star for not doing more comedy and less storytelling.

    WORST Event

by angelicajmx on 10/11/22Dolby Theatre - Hollywood

If I could give it a zero stars rating I would. Never have I ever walked out of a show in my life, not only did the show get postponed a while 9 months, the main attraction of the show was beyond awful, they spent the entire time just boosting their egos and talking about their career experiences, it was more like a panel versus a comedy show, not 1 single joke from the main performance, people on the seats near us were even asleep on their seats. Opening acts were great, outside of that it was beyond awful, I honestly wish they would refund people’s money.

Did I pay to watch a you two have a conversation?

    by L. K. on 10/11/22Dolby Theatre - Hollywood

I was very excited about this show and what we had in store. They had an opener, Kevin and he was hilarious! Honestly, I don’t know why he hasn’t made it big. Once Ken and Joel came on, they performed as a couple instead of individuals. The entire hour of their performance was just chit chat between the two of them. It was as if we were invited to watch their rehearsal rather than their show. Most of the crowd didn’t laugh at the majority of their jokes and banter. They only talked about things that occurred back stage at several of their movies. They laughed at their own stories, but didn’t give the crowd an opportunity to see whatever was funny to them about it. No one could understand what it was that caused them to tell the story on stage. Did they not have anything scripted or even rehearse and prepare before going on stage?? The show was short and definitely not sweet. The sweetest part of that night was their opener, Kevin. I can only see this experience as a waste of time and money, unfortunately.

    Show was just them talking

    by J. M. on 10/11/22Dolby Theatre - Hollywood

Expected more from this show. Was ready for a comedy show as the opening acts were what you would expect. The show was more of them talking, then it turned into a concert with some masked singer judges coming in to sing one of their songs then a cover of another song. Not really sure what I watched but was not too thrilled. Wouldn't want to watch this show again

    Walked out

    by N on 10/11/22Dolby Theatre - Hollywood

We walked out of the show 10 minutes in. We expected comedy, stand-up comedy, or something that would make us laugh. It was cringe. It was painful to sit through the little bit that we experienced.

    Ken Jeong Concert

by engine37 on 9/26/22Thunder Valley Casino Resort - Lincoln

I was disappointed in the show. I expected that what I would see would have been like the Comedy Concert Jeong did on his Netflix special, but what this show was a medly of his TV show memories and experiences.

    Not what I expected

by Lizzie on 9/19/22Thunder Valley Casino Resort - Lincoln

Two opening comedians, the first not so great but Kevin Shay was funny! Ken and Joel seemed scripted. The surprise guest, was indeed that....very surprising. Robin Thicke came out and closed the show with a few songs. It was an interesting evening.

We left the show after 30 minutes..

by Name on 9/19/22Thunder Valley Casino Resort - Lincoln

What a disappointment this show was for us. There was a line to leave because numerous people felt the same way. Terrible content with both Ken and Joel on stage together mostly making jokes that weren’t funny.

    Jeong gets the Gong

by Danno on 9/19/22Thunder Valley Casino Resort - Lincoln

Jeong the side kick for this Mchale guy. Mchale did two thirds of the show and not very funny. Mostly told his tv stories. He’s a bust. Paid for Jeong and got this other guy. 1 to 2 stars at the most. Misleading advertising on the show.

Hilarious show with a lot of surprises!

by KR on 9/19/22Thunder Valley Casino Resort - Lincoln

Joel & Ken are so funny individually in their stand-up acts, but together they are amazing! I'd say 40% of this show was written, and 60% was them just riffing off each other and those around them. They also had a surprise musical guest: Robin Thicke! He did a few numbers on his own and with them, which was wild. Highly recommended if you get a chance to see either of these guys, or better yet together!

    Sad…Not Sad!

by QuEEnshEEba on 9/19/22Thunder Valley Casino Resort - Lincoln

So I’m not big on reviews but this one needed to happen. The opening acts where entertaining and definitely not what you would expect. However, the fact that Ken needed a wingman on stage should have been the first red flag. It was basically a weird bro session that felt forced. Just a bunch of nacho and forth and movie reviews followed by a Q&A session. The highlight was when Robin Thicke came out and performed a few songs. We almost left before he came out but one if the staff was nice enough to give us a heads up so we stayed.

    Disappointing. No effort.

by KeithB on 9/19/22Thunder Valley Casino Resort - Lincoln

The openers were better. Ken and Joel just talked to each other on stage. Audience essentially paid to see a phone conversation in person.
