Music really does have the power to save, and R&B singer KEM has the story – and the Grammy nominations – to prove it. After a troubled adolescence that included homelessness and addiction, the singer turned his life around through music and an interest in spirituality that has informed his sound and songs ever since. In 2013, KEM released What Christmas Means: Deluxe Edition, an album of spiritual songs featuring R&B legend Patti LaBelle on “Jesus” and Ledisi on “Be Mine For Christmas.” Previously, KEM released 3 gold-certified albums in the 2000s through Motown Records, a label that perfectly suits the classic, throwback sound found on successful singles like “Love Calls” and “I Can’t Stop Loving You.” His 2010 album Intimacy: Album III peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard 200, earning him 2 Grammy nominations, including Best R&B Song for “Why Would You Stay.” On the road in 2013 with his What Christmas Means Tour, KEM has been treating ticket buyers to his classy take on holiday spirituality, earning rave reviews for his intimate, inspiring live concerts.
The concert was wonderful. I had excellent seats and the performers was right on time, giving their audience everything expected. One problem is the lights that go around at the Lyric. The occasionally hit you right dead in the eye. That was a little annoying. Other than that, wonderful night. Oh, and ladies just like Will says he gets you ready for your man, ha! ha! he does something for your man too!!!!
I love Will Downing and have been a member of his Fan For Life Club ever since he released I GO CRAZY....Will looked good and sound even better....While watching Will last night all I could think is that God is truely amazing. After watching Will I was extremely musically satisfied and was ready to go....But decided to to se what KEM show was like...I have really been a KEM fan until now....KEM was simply amazing. ....His vocals was off the charts. His stage presence was great. He seemed to be realty enjoying is music as much as we were...I have joined he KEM Fan For Life Club now...I am very glad I stayed. ....
I took a friend for their birthday and it was worth the money. Will Downing opened and put on a phenomenal show with hits from the present and the past with a few renditions from other artists. Kem along with his band came out later and stole the show. These two put on a great show together. The seats were great, the sound was phenomenal, and the venue was fabulous. I highly recommend this show and venue.
Kem and Will are always unforgettable.... I enjoyed them.... another unforgettable event was those lights.... who ever though of putting the light behind the stage to have them point out to the audience especially row X was insane.. I'm still seeing spots... it was very distracting... and blinding... AWFUL.... if it was for my love of Kem and Will,,, I would have left screaming...... That as a mess.
The show was wonderful. Did not care for the venue. The seating is just too tight.
KEM to me is the greatest singer of all time. He is dynamic, superb, spiritual, sensuous and sexy!!! I can't get enough of him. His music can transform your whole attitude into a serene, peaceful, spiritual sense of being. I have seen him perform three times this year. I'd go see him again, however, I think he should perform for a longer period of time, sing more of his songs (even if he has to cut the length of those songs he choses to sing) and spend less time introducing the Band. The opening act should be shorter since KEM's name sells out tickets all by itself! I think Fans wouldn't care if he was the whole Show if he could sing all of his songs which have made him famous & would then include everyones favorites!!!
The Bomb!!! A must see for people who enjoy 'REAL" Live Music!!!!

This was a romantic dinner show!!! I was glad to be with the man I love. Kem was a sexy soul singer.... definitely grown folk music. I go again in a heart beat!
From his smooth swaying hips to his soothing voice, Kem was on all the way. If I closed my eyes long enough, I knew he was singing to me. An awesome, energetic performer. Good thing I left my boyfriend home!
Worth every penny spent, it was a great concert, and when he went to church I got goose pimples all over!!! He is amazing and whenever he is in town I will go and see him... Love is style, Love is voice, Just Love Him !!!
An undeniably smooth soul singer, Kem has a sound more akin to Al Jarreau with his own soulful twist. His music is also more subdued, with mellow, minimalist instrumentation that keeps you grooving to the beats. In addition to singing, Kem also played the keyboards and piano and wowed the audience with his own personal testimony. It was definitely encouraging and I would recommend that everyone should see KEM! What a perfomer.........
This was my first time at the Anaheim Grove and my first time seeing Kem live. I was impressed with the Grove. The atmosphere and appearance of the place was really nice and the food was very good. The chairs were a little too close together which didn't leave much room to move around. Kem was MAGNIFICENT!!! He sounded wonderful he looked wonderful and he gave a great classy performance, just the right amount of interaction with the crowd, he was great, what a voice! I am an even bigger fan now that i was able to see him live.
Dynamic, Heartfelt, entertainer... His voice is like magic.... soothing to the heart and soul.
First time ever seeing Kem live and also my first time at the Grove. Kwm was ooff the hook, he is trulu gifted ans a amazing talent. His witness was an extra that i related to. God is good. The Grove is fantatic as well from the service to the food. It made my night quite remarkable and memoriable. Thanks

KEM was the ultimate performer! I enjoyed the entire concert, venue and dinner. He is a must see artist. I recommend anyone seeking REAL music see him in concert.
AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Although i have Kemistry and KEM ALBUM II, i had never had the pleasure of seeing him live. Kem was amazing last night. i took a friend for his birthday and he didnt know of Kem prior to going, but now he's a life long fan! Kem sang all of my favorites and a couple of new songs which were beautiful! Without doubt... worth every penny!!!!!
Kem was amazing! His voice was beautiful and his energy was refreshing to my spirit. I loved the personal feel of his performance. He really seems to enjoy what he does and views it as a gift. I can't wait until his new project comes out. I hear he collaborates with Jill Scott on it (who is also amazing in concert). I would love to see the two of them together.
kem's music is one of a kind , his band is off the chain. Last evening show was just exciting than the first time i saw his performance last year at the groove of anaheim. I recommend if you love good class music good see his next show at the groove on novemeber 27th 2009 or when ever you can . You will love it , have a blessed day.
