Music really does have the power to save, and R&B singer KEM has the story – and the Grammy nominations – to prove it. After a troubled adolescence that included homelessness and addiction, the singer turned his life around through music and an interest in spirituality that has informed his sound and songs ever since. In 2013, KEM released What Christmas Means: Deluxe Edition, an album of spiritual songs featuring R&B legend Patti LaBelle on “Jesus” and Ledisi on “Be Mine For Christmas.” Previously, KEM released 3 gold-certified albums in the 2000s through Motown Records, a label that perfectly suits the classic, throwback sound found on successful singles like “Love Calls” and “I Can’t Stop Loving You.” His 2010 album Intimacy: Album III peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard 200, earning him 2 Grammy nominations, including Best R&B Song for “Why Would You Stay.” On the road in 2013 with his What Christmas Means Tour, KEM has been treating ticket buyers to his classy take on holiday spirituality, earning rave reviews for his intimate, inspiring live concerts.

The only message I heard through out the audience was “it’s already over.” Get a headline person to open his show. The young who opened for KEM was great but it’s hard to get Black people out of their chairs. The opening needs to pop like if she would have sang some oldies people familiar with help them get into the party mode. But overall it was good.

Kem is the type of entertainer that has to be experienced to truly appreciate. He performed all of his hits but I was impressed with his commitment to his family. It comes thru in the most loving and appreciative way. He teaches the importance of love commitment and humility. I thought I was going to a concert but ended up in church (in a good way). This is a must see concert to experience with your loved one.

It was a nice grownup and chill show. I would definitely recommend it. The only issue I had was a sound issue. It was a little bit too loud for the venue. Other than that, the show was amazing.

by Akosua on 2/22/24No show! No details!! Have loved Kem ‘s sound from the very beginning. Bought tickets for his show in NYC. The show was cancelled how disappointing. Once again a scheduled performance at The theatre in MSG has been cancelled. Do you not like New Yorkers??

I went there for Chante Moore because she is my girl, however, when KEM came out, he was so classy, his whole crew was stylish, and all were looking good with good energy. I then remembered all his songs..... Sexy and romantic. It was a great show. From now on, when he comes to Houston, I will be there to see him perform. Excellent show.

by Kmart on 1/18/24Stifel Theatre - St. LouisMy review of this show was horrible my whole reason fo going was to see Lyfe Jennings. From the time he came on stage it seems like he was rushed. He sounded amazing. But to pay $ 135 to see him only perform 20 minutes wasn’t fair to his fans. The whole show was less than 3 hrs. I will never attend a concert at this establishment anymore. Very disappointed!!!

All artist did a great job, but Kem stole the show with his sultry sound and stage presence. If you haven’t seen this, please do so! You will not regret it. I’m a stickler for timelines and they respected the audience and was on time too. This was a plus!
