About

From her days touring the globe with one of the world’s best-selling girl groups to her 2013 Whitney Houston-influenced solo release “Talk a Good Game,” Destiny’s Child founding member Kelly Rowland is representing the R&B/pop genres well. The Houston native had a hand in writing the majority of songs on her fourth solo effort, which celebrates womanhood and features production by Pharrell Williams and The-Dream, among others. Even fellow Destiny’s Child members Michelle Williams and top ticket seller Beyonce make guest appearances, lending their well-matched vocals to the track “You Changed.”
Since the group’s amicable breakup in 2005, Rowland has remained focused on her own path. Along with unveiling four studio albums and headlining three major worldwide tours, the mezzo-soprano has also ventured into film and reality television. Rowland has tackled co-hosting duties on the American version of “The X Factor,” along with three international versions of the music competition.

Kelly Rowland and The Dream were amazing

by Celialove23 on 5/28/13The Fillmore Silver Spring - Silver Spring

The show was great but the artists started late. We were standing for more than an hour before they started.

    Surprising great show!

by leharrison15 on 5/28/13The Fillmore Silver Spring - Silver Spring

I was not impressed by the last show I saw at the Fillmore so I was a little worried about this show with Kelly and The Dream. But boy did they put on a show! I thought they were both great! The Dream pretty much did his hits from over the years and maybe one new song. Then Kelly performed and she did her hits from over the years and some new songs.

    It was okay.

by ANaturalBadass on 5/28/13The Fillmore Silver Spring - Silver Spring

I felt like Kelly Rowland was lip syncing the whole entire time. My opinion. The dream has gotten better since I seen him back in 2008.

    Kelly Rowland & The Dream

by RowlandStone on 5/28/13The Fillmore Silver Spring - Silver Spring

It is rare to find a good R&B concert where the artists just let go and have a great time with their talent. Well thats exactly what happened here at the Kelly Rowland and Dream concert. First Dream did an amazing job with his set. Very energetic, passionate and appreciated his fans in the DC area. His hits and new music was great R& B music. But that Miss Kelly Rowland set that fire on stage. Her presence, vocals, moves, and passion for her craft was on point that night. She went through her collections of hits and reminded us why she is so great! I mean she was 1/3 of the greatest girl group of all time, but more importantly she has grown so much over the years. Her raw performance and ability to capture the audience just made us fall in love with her even more. The venue was great! The artists were great! It was just a GREAT SHOW!

    Honest feedback

by Blessing79 on 5/28/13The Fillmore Silver Spring - Silver Spring

Like a good sermon I have 3 points: 1. The name of the opening act should have been announced by SOMEONE! He was so talented and sung so well. Too bad I can't support him because I don't know his name. He didn't state his name. Nor did The Dream or Kelly Rowland. Huge, costly oversight. 2. My love for The Dream has been renewed. Having him perform reminded me of why I liked his music so much. He slayed it! I wouldn't change a thing. 3. Kelly, for the last time, please turn your mic up. This is starting to get ridiculous. The opening act and the Dream had crystal clear vocals. As the headliner so should you. I'm not one of those fans just now hopping on the Kelly train. I've been a loyal fan since "no,no, no". and over the years heard and have been impressed with what you can do. So PLEASE turn up your mic. Otherwise good display of old and new songs. I'm really looking forward to the new album.

    Rowland Delivers!!

by Mjfromva on 5/28/13The Fillmore Silver Spring - Silver Spring

Im not even going to comment on The Dream's performance, or the newcomer who opened the show, mostly because I was unfamiliar with the majority songs both performed (especially the later). It was apparent that the majority was there for one person- Ms. Kelly! The show in itself had its delays in starting, but one it finally got its footing, the pace was better. Kelly Rowland gave an energetic and confident showing that should guarantee buzz and for her forthcoming project "Talk a Good Game". The first half of the show, she offers several new cuts to hear, the highlight being "Steet Life", and later on, an emotional offering of her new controversial single "Dirty Laundy". The show was very energetic and leaves you wanting more. Kelly chose to focus more time on new material (as she should), than to spend the majority in Destiny's Child teasers and memory lane songs. She gave them to us, but a little- and just enough. The audience sang along to "Bad Habit", and her 2 Chippendale dancers were shirts off in time to perform her Billboard award winning hit "Motivation". It's clear Kellt Rowland is driven and soaked in newfound confidence and success. As with the show, just makes us only want more-

The Dream never disappoints, Kelly was excellent

by MissLex on 5/28/13The Fillmore Silver Spring - Silver Spring

My only two complaints was that the show started an hour late and although the band was superb, the music was so loud it overpowered The Dream and Kelly Rowland when they were singing. All in all, I had such a good time. I was there for The Dream, but of course I stayed to see Kelly Rowland - and I'm glad I did. She exceeding my expectations and rocked the house. This duo is perfect... Nothing but love making and sex songs! Too bad they had to cancel other shows in other cities, but I'm sooooooooooo glad they made it to DC (Silver Spring, MD) <3

    Kelly Rowland and The Dream

by Fief on 5/28/13The Fillmore Silver Spring - Silver Spring

I am not a huge Kelly Rowland or The Dream fan but this was a pretty good concert. The Dream's set was great and his band was phenomenal. He isn't the best singer and there was clearly an issue with the artists hearing themselves while on stage; because all the performers had very pitchy moments. Kelly got really emotional when singing "Dirty Laundry", which moved the crowd and helped us all feel more connected to her performance. It was a fun and festive atmosphere with no drama! I am from New York but I went to MD to see this concert. This was nothing like a concert staged in Manhattan. I was impressed by how laid back the crowd was. Overall, it was a great experience.

    Amazing show!!!

by JMJ04 on 5/28/13The Fillmore Silver Spring - Silver Spring

The Filmore is a great venue. My friends and I loved the small intimate setting which allowed us to have a great, close view of Kelly Rowland. The main complaint I have about the actual show was the extensive amount of time between each artist. When Kelly came on, she killed it! I most definitely enjoyed her show. She's beautiful and amazing performer with a great voice. Overall, I would come to another show and recommend this venue to a friend!

    Kelly was amazing!

by jkmonthe on 5/28/13The Fillmore Silver Spring - Silver Spring

The concert was really good. Kelly looked stunning as always even with her laid back outfit on. Her vocals were amazing and she really connected with the crowd. She broke down while performing Dirty Laundry and made me cry too, but all her fans were right there to pick her back up. I really enjoyed this concert and would definitely attend another next time she's in a town near me!

    KELLY ROWLAND DID THAT!!!

by AAJL on 5/28/13The Fillmore Silver Spring - Silver Spring

I absolutely love Kelly Rowland & was not disappointed when she finally hit the stage. She was Amazing & fused her solo stuff with classic hits from Destinys Child that we have all grown to Love. I had the VIP tickets so I was able to meet Kelly & she is so sweet & genuinely a nice person. Her vocals were on point, her dancers were great, & she was super turnt.up.
