    A very enjoyable exhibition

by hokiegal93 on 10/5/12AT&T Center - San Antonio

I think most of the lower reviews are from those expecting a competition. It's an exhibition, and a very well produced one at that. I've watched several gymnastics exhibitions and this was the most enjoyable and well produced one I've ever seen. I took three girls and they all loved it. All exhibitions have their awkward moments, and this one has a few as well. But it's so much more refined than any other I've seen. I highly recommend this to anyone who enjoys watching gymnastics. If you're looking more for the suspense, competitiveness, and tension of the olympics, then you need to go to the U.S. nationals. This is for entertainment purposes and I wouldn't want any gymnast to do anything that would risk serious injury for my entertainment.

Kellogg's Tour is a Must See Show!!

by hdee53 on 10/5/12Chesapeake Arena - Oklahoma City

The Kellogg show last night in Oklahoma City was a BLAST to our daughters. The combination of rhythmic, acrobatic, trampoline and optional gymnastics performances were so entertained and blasted through 2 hours so fast - We hardly had enough time to complete our screams. In my opinion, the tour met its intention of introducing the world greatest gymnasts; and at the same time, providing the entertainment atmosphere to the audiences. We didn't came to only watch the technical difficulties the Olympians had to perform, but rather to enjoy the entertainment side of the sport as they had demonstrated. The show like this would really help to boost the level of interests in gymnastics and rejuvenate the sport with youngsters. Having the local gymnasts involved in the tour show was a great plus. My friends and I agreed that the Kellogg's Tour Of Gymnastics Champions was an excellent "post-Olympics" sport entertainment show. It's well worth our money!

    Awful show.

by sldkfjie on 10/5/12Chesapeake Arena - Oklahoma City

I brought my young children ages 9 and younger and I felt like the worst mom for subjecting my children to this filth. The show was way too erotic, almost to the point of soft porn with the skimpy outfits, dancers and gymnasts rolling around on the ground and spreading their legs, one dance with leather and "whip", and the actual song "Do you think I'm sexy" while the guys ripped off their jackets and shirts and grind danced. One of them was wearing a girl's leotard and "lady in red" started playing. It was so ridiculous. The "baby" grind dancing and teaching a dad to dance that way was awful. My daughter and I argued all night about which gymnast was on the floor, because no announcer told us. The gymnastic talent was fine, I just was not expecting skimpy outfits, grind dancing, inappropriate music, leather and whips, and girls rolling around on the floor in skimpy outfits, spreading their legs. I was so uncomfortable having my children watch this. I'm glad our arena was only one quarter full and more children's innocence was spared from this sorry excuse of a "gymnastics" tour.

A good show, but don't expect the Olympics

by gymnasticsmomokc on 10/4/12Chesapeake Energy Arena - Oklahoma City

I took my 7 year old gymnast daughter to this show and we both had a blast! We totally enjoyed the upbeat music and displays of gymnastic talent. I didn't go in expecting hardcore Olympic caliber gymnastics, but I was expecting to see our favorite gymnasts put on a show and that's what we got. My daughter said it reminded her of America's Got Talent. There was a big focus on rhythmic gymnastics and acrobatics, but both the Men's and Women's olympic squads were prominently featured. We both agreed that the dance numbers that didn't feature gymnasts were a bit long, but overall, I liked that it showcased the fun side of the sport. I also think they may have stepped up their game since it was here in Oklahoma City, home base to Bart Conner, Nadia Comaneci and Shannon Miller.

More like Dancing with the champions

    by jrock8543 on 9/28/12Key Arena - Seattle

This event was two hours of my life that I can never have back. Yes, it was that much of a waste of time, money, and energy. It was a disappointment of epic proportions. While I in no way question the energy and effort of our Olympic teams, I seriously question the effort and creativity that those who managed and designed this event put into it. -No indication of who was performing. The least you could do was announce who was doing what acts. Sure we could tell whether or not it was a guy or a girl performing, but otherwise it was very difficult to see who was performing. And most of the time it was big groups performing at once. -Minus some gymnastics performances here and there, it was more like one huge group dance. If I wanted to see dancing, I would go to the ballet. -the room was dark and only spot lights were used. Again making it impossible to know who was performing -Words cannot describe how awful, un-creative, and ridiculous the baby the baby Huey act was. As if the first baby Huey act was not enough, they did it a second time. REALLY? -Did not honor or give attention to any of the member so the Olympic team, who the tour is suppose to be about. Again, it was one big dance party. I understand that the gymnasts need an off-season and to stay healthy for the tour...but they should have at least done watered down routines for the whole event. Yes, there were routines here and there, but overall it was one big dance party. This was not the way to connect the gymnastics teams with their fans and supporters. This was the type of performance, you'd boo... Seriously, if you want to see one big group dance and not know who anyone is, this is the event for you! However, if you even want to see watered down routines, some actual gymnastics, avoid this event and put your time and money elsewhere.

    Disappointing

by GymnasticsSeattle on 9/28/12Key Arena - Seattle

we were really disappointed, the show was poorly done and choreographed. we didn't appreciate that champions had to pretend that they are disco dancers, it was hard to see sometimes because of multiple stages and overlapping performances. we, adults felt awkward because we came to see the art of gymnastics and saw some kind of disco party-if this show is targeted towards 5 year olds or teens then i don't think a dance by champions "i'm sexy and i know it" was appropriate...a child- gymanst who was sitting next to us was dissapointed as well, he didn't like the show at all. also i wasn';t sure would they bring a clown to such a show? bottom line- it was extremely frustrating, and i wouldn't recommend it, unless you are 12 y.old and like to scream when you see gymnasts dancing under Britney Spears.

Kind of a shame for the gymnasts

by gymnasticsisfun on 9/26/12Power Balance Pavilion - Sacramento, CA

The least they could do is announce the names of these gymnasts as they are performing. Many of them have recognizable names and have won World and Olympic medals and have competed internationally. A lot of people have also watched them on TV recently. It's insulting to the gymnasts to not announce their names to the crowd. A fun gymnastics show doesn't need to have ANY gimmicks. No dancing baby required. Or overly skimpy outfits! Leotards are skimpy enough. And the gymnasts do not have to pretend to be dancers themselves! Why would people want to see gymnasts pretending they are hip hop dancers? Makes no sense. I do not expect full fledged competition routines from these gymnasts on a long tour, but AT LEAST provide them with a way to do more gymnastics in the show rather than dance. Why not utilize rod floors and tumble tracks to both save the gymnasts' bodies as well as allow them to perform more of what the crowd came to see- actual gymnastics? Showing some rapid fire tumbling on floor would be fun, too (meaning, having several gymnasts throwing tumbling passes from the corners of the floor one after another). It doesn't have to be incredibly difficult tumbling, it can even be very easy tumbling, it just has to be fast and fun! I think the creative team behind this show needed a different approach.

Kellogg's Tour of Champions Was A Hit!!!

by gpgymmom on 9/24/12Rose Quarter - Portland

The negative reviews on this show and comments on the athletes' costume's baffle me! This show was incredible! And yes, Gabby & Aly's Olympic floor routines WERE watered down a bit, but keep in mind that these athletes have to try and remain injury free for the entire tour (and already one of them has been hurt). And the costumes were fun and appropriate depending on which segment they performing. If folks want to see a competition (and competition attire), then buy a ticket to the Olympic trials and stop complaining about the Kellogg's Tour. The show definitely shows a different (and less serious) side to gymnastics, but it lacks ABSOLUTELY NOTHING and provides a beautiful, artistic and entertaining approach to the sport that can appeal to everyone. We had a group of 65 people from our local USAG gymnastics club that attended the show and NO ONE was disappointed, we all left wishing the show would be back next year! My one piece of advise would be to choose your seats wisely, as it is impossible for any show to perform to every section. We were lucky and had front and center seats for our group (and it was worth every penny!). The layout of the show is spread out and they do utilize the entire floor which allows everyone to see the action. However, as with any show, if you buy nose bleed seats you won't be able to identify the athletes from afar... that's just common sense!

    Kellogg's Tour Disappointing

by katinaz on 9/24/12Jobing arena - Glendale

The show was not at all what I expected. With such great talent I expected a much better show, more display of the talent and actual individual performances. I thought there should have been an MC to provide better recognition of who was who, could not tell. Possibly use tv screens to help with that. Had a Cirque feel to it but not pulled off well, music/theme was strange. Most likely won't attend again and glad I did not buy higher priced tickets than I did.

Should be called 'Dancing with the Gymnasts'

    by gymnasticsfan2008 on 9/24/12Key Arena - Seattle

I'm an avid gymnastics fan-have been following consistently since 2008 and came specifically to see Alicia Sacramone and Chellsie Memmel, my favorites from the '08 team, but without someone announcing who was performing when, I feel really frustrated with what I saw tonight. While there was definitely some fun aspects-the men's high bar and rings particularly, the show was definitely more dancing and gimmicks (a dancing baby was fluff I found unnecessary and cringe worthy) than gymnastics. I had a hard time identifying who was who without the help of a giant screen that all events have these days, which was a major letdown considering how expensive the cheapest seats were. My husband and I felt like it was a waste of time. I won't be doing this again, no matter how much I love the sport.

Inappropriate costumes, and not enough gymnastics

by Momofaspiringgymnasts on 9/17/12San Jose HP - San Jose

The men's routines were fun to watch and they appeared to have a good time. Most of the women's routines were hard to watch as the costumes were so inappropriate and seemed very disrespectful to the athletes who worked so hard. The first half was better then the second half and I wish we had left at halftime. The fierce five posing in the Olympics rings were embarrassing to watch. We wanted to see an exhibition - not a second rate music video. The music was hard to hear, the lighting way too dim and you couldn't tell who was who from the 10th row of seats. The Baby routines were painful to watch. The best part was the floor routine from Aly R. and the interactions with the kids. So disappointed!

    Rough start

by ChadSF on 9/17/12HP Pavilion - San Jose

I was glad that San Jose CA was their first stop but the entire show was a little disorganized and I must agree I was not a fan of the baby huey bit, but I guess it was made to appeal to a much younger crowd. From where we were seated, the performers had their backs at us for most of the time. The perfromers that faced us, at a distance, was the trampoline act. Everyone else had their backs at us. It was also hard to tell who was performing especially when it came to the guys but the Fierce 5 were quite noticeable. Overall, It was not a total waste of time but I don't think I'll do this again. Watching something like this on TV should be enough.

    Gymnastics was interesting

by Rccommend on 9/17/12Honda Center - Anaheim

Saw the Kellogg's Tour at the Honda Center in Anaheim. Fortunately we had a lady who knew all the stars. She would point the name's of the top performers. Whether I knew them or not did not make any difference to a novice observer. These are amazing athletes . We had past Olympians performing from Beijing. Natalie Liukin was mesmserizing in one act. The choreography was very entertaining. The audience had a lot of parents with young aspiring gymnastics. The fast paced routines I felt played well to this audience. You had a combination of modern dancing, rhythmic gymnastics hip hop and regular gymnastics for nearly 2 hours. I got my money's worth

    pathetic

by Jhonothon on 9/17/12Jobing.com Arena - Glendale

We were in the area so we picked up tickets to this spectacle so our kids can enjoy seeing the girl Olympians. Well, they were in the program and the ads - but they barely performed on the show, and if they did, we didn't know which is which because of the lighting and the fact that they were not announced until the end. They were also missing one of the Olympian girls which was unannounced so it was a rip off in my opinion. I guess this is luck of the draw, who knows maybe in other cities there would only be 2 or 3 of the girls at one time, the previous show in San Jose had all of them but how come not in Arizona? The food was atrocious as well and the show was forgettable, it had wack music, and my kids had to endure watching this. I take my hand off to the performers had we known who they are but the production itself, it's downright pathetic!

    Circus Show

by ConcertFan51 on 9/16/12Staple Center - Los Angelses

This show does not showcase the gymnastic talent of the USA men and women who went to London. There is not one routine that is performed by an Olympian in its entirety except for Gabby Douglas who does a watered down version of her original routine. The rest of the show is mediocre dancing, cirque de soleil stunts and poor attempts at being a funny-which made me miss Paul Hunt-the comedic gymnast from years ago. We went with 5 other people and no one liked it!

    Dissapointing

by bbeca on 9/16/12STAPLES Center - Los Angeles

I have to say, I was very disappointed with the tour. I remember going in 96' where Nadia Comaneci herself performed a floor routine and the magnificent 7 where out to greet you and sign autographs. This was like a crappy cirque du Soliel wannabe where there's no announcers so you don't even know who's who. Nastia kept twirling around from some rope and the hardest tumbling pass was a double back. come on guys-I can still do a layout. to top it off u had to have wrist bands to meet the team in some hidden area. LAME. The best part was the musical guest- Redfoo. I agree with the other comments that some of the dance moves where too sexy for little girls-which made up most of the crowd.

    Terrible

by Notatourfan on 9/16/12Staples Center - LA

Terrible. The tours from the 90s actually included some gymnastics in leotards not skimpy outfits. Where are the international gymnasts? This cheesy dance is not what my gymnast daughter cared to see. Just terrible.

Kelloggs Tour of Gymnastics, Glendale, Arizona,

    by katiesmom1 on 9/15/12Jobing.com Arena - Glendale

Very Disappointed... I was excited to see the US Gymnastics Team performing in an exhibition event because of their great performance in London. What I got was a mediocre group of hip-hop dancers, a silly, stupid "clown" act, and just a few glimpses of the wonderful gymnasts. I realize they can't repeat their exact performances, but it would have been nice to see more individual routines rather than a bunch of random things, dances, going on at the same time. There was no announcement of performers, so you had to figure out who was actually performing. I did not care for all the strobe light, funky costume effects either. My thirteen year old daughter and her friend had a difficult time following the show and they were frustrated with the "filler" acts as well. Also, the show started 15 minutes late, the "dumb clown acts" were at least 25 mintes long, and then there was a 25 minute intermission, I assume, so everyone could just go buy more food and t-shirts. I do appreciate our dedicated Olympic athletes, and that is what I thought I was paying top dollar to see (cost was over $400 for 2 adults and 2 children with tickets and parking), so I was disapointed in what I got. I do not in any way hold the hardworking and talented athletes acountable for this,,, it is clearly the fault of the "organizer", "promoter", or whoever was in charge of planning this event. Will not attend something like this again.

    Bad Show

by MSUinAZ on 9/15/12jobing.com arena - glendale

Awful Show. Nice talent, but couldn't tell who was performing, no MC, dim lighting, creepy music. FAIL. We came to see the stars but couldn't decipher who was performing at any given time.
