About

"Kaskade's signature sound is as unmistakable as it is beautiful; a combination of dewy female vocals, tough electronic underpinnings, and memorable melodies." -- Billboard

The New York Times may have called him the "new face of electronic dance music" in a recent profile, but Ryan Raddon, known as Kaskade, has been in the trenches of the EDM scene as an original recording artist and in-demand DJ for more than a decade.  He has released seven studio albums, including his latest, Fire & Ice, scored nine Top 10 hits on Billboard's Hot Dance Airplay Chart, created chart-topping remixes for everyone from Lady Gaga to Beyoncé, appeared at all the major summer festivals, and has performed between 150 and 200 headlining shows a year for the last 10 years, building a name for himself as an innovator of the EDM scene as we know it today, which has opened doors for the likes of Deadmau5, Tiesto, Skrillex and more.  In doing so, he has helped to lay the groundwork for a titanic musical and cultural shift: a post-rock EDM revolution that has captured the imagination of a new generation of music lovers across North America.

Kaskade has been named America's No. 1 DJ by DJ Times and Pioneer DJ.  In 2012, he will appear at this year's Coachella and Electric Daisy Carnival festivals, for which he has special performances planned, and will hit the road in June for his biggest headlining tour ever — 70-plus North American shows in just over three months.  His own live show is a jaw-dropping spectacle that finds him performing in front of an 80-foot wide, three-stories tall LED screen that blares images synched with the music while strobe lights scan the crowd.  Kaskade's belief in the transformative power of dance music to uplift thousands of people at once has had a significant effect on the U.S. scene. His ground-breaking double residency in Las Vegas at the Encore Beach Club (which had not even been built when he signed on) and Marquee has elevated the city's status as a premiere club-going destination on par with London, Berlin, and Ibiza, is another testament to his influence.

Growing up in the Chicago suburbs, Raddon was heavily influenced by New Wave bands like The Cure, Echo and The Bunnymen, and The Smiths that ignited his love for melody and lyrics and was strongly impacted by the house music scene that developed in Chicago.   Following stints spinning throughout college and in A&R at OM Records, he began working on his own music, which includes multiple singles, EPs, and remixes, as well as the albums:  his most recent 2011 release Fire & Ice  -- which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Dance Chart, No. 3 on the Independent Albums chart, and No. 17 on the Top 200 Albums chart, while the iTunes version debuted at No. 4 on the overall album chart.  The Fire disc contains ten original songs geared firmly toward the dancefloor, while on the Ice disc, Kaskade delivers the perfect down-tempo post-club experience by remixing all ten songs.  Both discs showcase the musical versatility tat has characterized his work ever since he began writing his own songs.  This album was preceded by It's You, It's Me (2003), In the Moment (2004), The Calm (2006), Here & Now (2006), Love Mysterious (2006), Strobelite Seduction (2008), Dynasty (2010) and Dance.Love (2010).

by Taylormariee on 10/20/13Shrine Expo Hall - Los AngelesRating: 3 out of 5

Besides the many rude people I ran into this night , and besides having the show end so early I enjoyed the epic entertainment Kaskade gave us ! He was amazing like always , his set was unforgettable and I made so many new memories that night . Big thank you to Shrine for letting bracelets be allowed as I heard many rumors of them being banned . Overall had an amazing night . Kaskade needs to come back !

  • Fantastic

    by Novak921 on 10/17/13Navy Pier - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

This was an amazing show. It took awhile for Kaskade to come out but there was a DJ mixing EDM music the entire evening before Kaskade. It was definitely a night to remember with incredible mixes and a great crowd. Just be sure to bring some ear plugs if you are sensitive to sound as Kaskade does not hold back. 5 star event.

  • Over the top AMAZING!!!

by Rotk on 10/15/13Navy Pier - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

I've listened to Kaskade for years and never had been able to see a show of his until EDC Chicago. Sadly, I had to see Above & Beyond first. By the time I got to Kaskade's stage, there was probably 20 minutes left. Come October though, he was stopping by Navy Pier for his Atmosphere Tour. I wish it could have played out until 3 in the morning. The lights, the bass, the literal atmosphere he created with the stage design; it was all overwhelming. I hope Navy Pier learns from this and has more EDM shows here. It felt like an abandoned hanger or even a warehouse. The vibe you get from how open the place is was just breathtaking. PLEASE bring back more EDM artists INCLUDING Kaskade! :)

  • Wow!!

I'm a massive Kaskade fan and he outdid himself for this performance. Best light show/stage production I have ever seen, and the music was incredible. Definitely a contender for best concert of my life!

  • kaskade great show terrible accoustics

by scramuzza on 10/15/13Navy Pier - ChicagoRating: 4 out of 5

Kaskade had a great performance at navy pier, thankfully he is talented enough to overshadow the terrible acoustics. Many other EDM artist would not be able to overshadow the bad accoustics.

by Anonymous on 10/15/13Navy Pier - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

The stage set was incredible!!!! Like paradiso stsge with moving objects and kaskade had more moving pieces on stage ive ever seen and the screens would move to the back of the crowd. The lights set up was also a big part that made the whole stage and music complete. Great job kaskade and team for set up and planning im sure not easy to move the stage for the tour.

  • Let the bass DROP and your ass move!

    by Bryguy24 on 10/15/13Navy Pier - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

Kaskade raised the bar once again on live dance music sets. The event was well-organized with a high-tech stage. The environment is ALIVE. Just DANCE, absorb the sound of Kaskade. Kaskade is a must see, that must be seen live. Unreal and could not have been a better night.

  • Kaskade at Navy Pier blew my mind!

    by Smiles4Miles1 on 10/15/13Navy Pier - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

Everyone knew Kaskade would be Epic. Everyone knew the walk to and from Navy Pier would be beautiful. But everyone thought that, being a major tourist attraction, security would be overwhelming and aggressive. But everyone was wrong. Security was respectful and helpful. Allowing the audience to enjoy the show and let out their weird sides.

  • Eye opening

by peterfnet on 10/15/13Navy Pier - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

I have listened to his music for a long time. Hearing it in that venue opened my eyes and showed me the setting it was destined for.

  • Kaskade - MUST SEE

by IloveEDMforever on 10/15/13Navy Pier - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

His Atmosphere tour on Navy Pier was honestly the best show I have ever been to! The venue was perfect, the lights and moving screens were astonishing, the live performances were chilling in a good way.... I wish I could go back in time and relive it all over again! Simply amazing. Kaskade can sure put on an exciting show!

  • by Anonymous on 10/15/13Navy Pier - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

  • One of the best engineered concerts ever

    by BrianChi34 on 10/15/13Navy Pier - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

I have been to probably almost 150 shows and I would say that this was by far best I have ever seen. The sound quality was great, lighting was beyond impressing and the surprise guest..I mean come on!?!

  • by Anonymous on 10/15/13Navy Pier - ChicagoRating: 2 out of 5

Didn't know if there were any openers and come to find out there were three. It would have been nice to know this prior, so could better prepare for time, and not having to go into the event so early, and not being able to leave and not getting let back in. Lots of drugs and smoking going on.
