About

"Kaskade's signature sound is as unmistakable as it is beautiful; a combination of dewy female vocals, tough electronic underpinnings, and memorable melodies." -- Billboard

The New York Times may have called him the "new face of electronic dance music" in a recent profile, but Ryan Raddon, known as Kaskade, has been in the trenches of the EDM scene as an original recording artist and in-demand DJ for more than a decade.  He has released seven studio albums, including his latest, Fire & Ice, scored nine Top 10 hits on Billboard's Hot Dance Airplay Chart, created chart-topping remixes for everyone from Lady Gaga to Beyoncé, appeared at all the major summer festivals, and has performed between 150 and 200 headlining shows a year for the last 10 years, building a name for himself as an innovator of the EDM scene as we know it today, which has opened doors for the likes of Deadmau5, Tiesto, Skrillex and more.  In doing so, he has helped to lay the groundwork for a titanic musical and cultural shift: a post-rock EDM revolution that has captured the imagination of a new generation of music lovers across North America.

Kaskade has been named America's No. 1 DJ by DJ Times and Pioneer DJ.  In 2012, he will appear at this year's Coachella and Electric Daisy Carnival festivals, for which he has special performances planned, and will hit the road in June for his biggest headlining tour ever — 70-plus North American shows in just over three months.  His own live show is a jaw-dropping spectacle that finds him performing in front of an 80-foot wide, three-stories tall LED screen that blares images synched with the music while strobe lights scan the crowd.  Kaskade's belief in the transformative power of dance music to uplift thousands of people at once has had a significant effect on the U.S. scene. His ground-breaking double residency in Las Vegas at the Encore Beach Club (which had not even been built when he signed on) and Marquee has elevated the city's status as a premiere club-going destination on par with London, Berlin, and Ibiza, is another testament to his influence.

Growing up in the Chicago suburbs, Raddon was heavily influenced by New Wave bands like The Cure, Echo and The Bunnymen, and The Smiths that ignited his love for melody and lyrics and was strongly impacted by the house music scene that developed in Chicago.   Following stints spinning throughout college and in A&R at OM Records, he began working on his own music, which includes multiple singles, EPs, and remixes, as well as the albums:  his most recent 2011 release Fire & Ice  -- which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Dance Chart, No. 3 on the Independent Albums chart, and No. 17 on the Top 200 Albums chart, while the iTunes version debuted at No. 4 on the overall album chart.  The Fire disc contains ten original songs geared firmly toward the dancefloor, while on the Ice disc, Kaskade delivers the perfect down-tempo post-club experience by remixing all ten songs.  Both discs showcase the musical versatility tat has characterized his work ever since he began writing his own songs.  This album was preceded by It's You, It's Me (2003), In the Moment (2004), The Calm (2006), Here & Now (2006), Love Mysterious (2006), Strobelite Seduction (2008), Dynasty (2010) and Dance.Love (2010).

  • Redux is evolving and I love it

by entrovert on 5/9/16Hollywood Palladium - HollywoodRating: 5 out of 5

If you were expecting Kaskade to play three hours of his discography from Strobelite Seduction and earlier, you were probably disappointed to some degree. The majority of this iteration of Redux saw Kaskade digging past classics like "It's You, It's Me" and "I Remember" in favor of a darker and deeper set. This is not to say he doesn't throw in tracks like his remix of Late Night Alumni's "The This This" or his own "Ain't Gotta Lie", but in comparison to the Redux set from San Diego some years back, this night had a vibe more reminiscent of UK bass and house sounds. Sure, one can argue that all of those classic tracks were supposed to be Kaskade's saving grace from entering the mainstream, but I would guess even Ryan himself was looking forward to re-invigorating his set with a new energy. In doing so, Redux gets a modern face-lift and becomes a more accurate and up-to-date representation of the man's musical head space when he's not playing out at colosseums and festivals globally.

  • Couldn't Use One Ticket

    by SJ408 on 11/8/15Pier 70 - San FranciscoRating: 1 out of 5

I tried getting into the event with a friend, but my friend's ticket didn't work so my friend couldn't get into the venue. These tickets were never sold or used by someone else, so it's a shame that my friend couldn't get in. Had to buy an extra ticket from someone scalping on the street in order for us both to get in. Extremely disappointed with this.

  • Amazing show!

    by betseY01 on 11/4/15Navy Pier - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

Loved the layout of opening acts. The first and second opening acts were great at getting the crowd going before Kaskade arrived. Particularly Louis the child.

  • AMAZING

by FCBARCELONA619 on 11/3/15Sleep Train Amphitheatre in Chula Vista - Chula VistaRating: 5 out of 5

I FIRST WENT TO SEE KASKADE AT THE SAME AMPITHEATRE 4 YEARS AGO. I WAS FEANING FOR HIS NEXT SHOW. HE CAME BACK TO SD AND KICKED ASS! THE ENTIRE EVENT WAS A GREAT EXPERIENCE: THE ARTISTS, THE LOCATION, THE LIGHT SHOW, EVERYTHING WAS AWESOME. I'D DEFINITELY DO IT AGAIN!

  • Kaskade can Father my children

by matbakutis on 10/20/15Navy Pier - ChicagoRating: 4 out of 5

This was my first time. I loved it. He went so deep at points i almost exploded. Then he went real hard and I almost couldn't handle it, but hey im always ready for a challenge. Can't wait to see him again and let him have his way with my body.

  • This was the best

by hurhurrr on 10/20/15Navy Pier - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

I've been to many festivals and concerts, and Kaskade at Navy Pier was probably the best. I'm not sure how he would be at smaller venues with super strict security and bad sound systems, but Navy Pier did everything right to aid Kaskade, Louis The Child, and Cid into making their acts work so well. As for Kaskade specifically, he played a lot of his album's songs, as well as his old songs and other producers' songs. He even played some dubstep which I didn't expect. Nothing grimy obviously but it was a nice change. His energy was on point, especially considering he was in his hometown.

Kaskade knows how to put on a show like no other. Some how he's able to connect to everyone in the venue. Fantastic show overall.

  • Kaskade Never Disappoints

by SmoMoney on 10/20/15Navy Pier - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

As usual, Ryan threw down for his hometown crowd. Always taking his live shows to the max. NEVER DISAPPOINTS.

  • 1st kaskade concert

by armorsoldier on 10/20/15Navy Pier - ChicagoRating: 2 out of 5

I expected that since it was Kaskade, who's one of the top djs in the world, that this concert was going to blow it out of proportion. The warm up djs prior to his arrival were fairly dead, if not dying. Kaskade on the other hand brought it back to where it needed to be but I expected more for my money. In comparison to Dash Berlin's concert this year it was more energetic but lacked that constant rave and energy. Perhaps he shouldn't have stopped the concert to talk to us, but oh well. Overall, I say it was a bit overpriced. I could've gone to a music festival for just a little more and get more music for the slightly higher price.

  • The whole event was amazing

by LogannCal on 10/20/15Navy Pier - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

Firstly, it was an amazing event and I would recommend everyone experiences a Kaskade concert at some point, especially during his AUTOMATIC Tour. The venue was massive and I mean it was breathtakingly huge. The production value was very very good, especially once they transformed it into Kaskades stage. I would HIGHLY recommend this.

  • Kaskade

by Anonymous on 10/20/15Navy Pier - ChicagoRating: 4 out of 5

The show was great, I really enjoyed all the artists that were at the event! Kaskade especially was my all time favorite. However, the venue thought paying premium prices ($10) for less then premium beverages (Smirnoff vodka, Canadian club, Budwiser) was appropriate.

  • Kaskade was titts!

    by RobertY1111 on 10/20/15Pier 70 - San FranciscoRating: 5 out of 5

Great venue, loved the warehouse theme. The opening acts were alright but when Kaskade came on he absolutely killed it!

  • Kaskade left me in tears!!!!!

    by Scoopsxx on 10/15/15Pier 70 - San FranciscoRating: 5 out of 5

Kaskade is incredible! He will definitely put you in the most happiest mood because of his progressive house and have your body out of the control the next second he plays his electro house. Kaskade can keep a crowd highly active and happy.

  • BEST KASKADE SHOW EVER!!

    by Lodiii on 10/13/15Pier 70 - San FranciscoRating: 5 out of 5

I've seen Kaskade five times since 2014 & this was by far his most impressive set. The venue itself was perfect being semi outdoors & secluded. The lights & visuals were insane & so unique compared to other sets I've seen him at. I liked how he he was the headliner because we was really able to make the show his own. He not only showcased AUTOMATIC but also threw in some of his best hits like "Raining," "Don't Stop Dancing," & "Fire in Your New Shoes." Kaskade has a special relationship with San Francisco & the Bay Area & you could really tell how much it meant to him to play for our audience. It was just hands down amazing & I wish I could relive that night over & over again!

  • KASKADE was incredible!!

This was my first Kaskade experience and I couldn't have imagined a better venue for him. He played exactly how I was expecting him to. I'd love to go see him again.
