KASABIAN IN CONCERT:

British neo-psych icons Kasabian continue to dominate the British rock landscape, matching their four No. 1 albums with equally impressive live performances. The band's energy and showmanship have made them a frequent headlining act at festivals around the world, and their legendary live shows are widely considered some of the most electrifying in the business. Whether they're tearing through their breakout single "Club Foot" or treating fans to cuts from their 2014 LP 48:13, Kasabian are a consummate live act that get the adrenaline pumping every time they take the stage.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Kasabian formed in Leicester, England in 1997, spending their early years performing local shows and recording demos. They released their first official single "Processed Beats" in 2003, and in 2004 they skyrocketed to success with their self-titled debut album. Propelled by Top 20 singles like "Club Foot" and "L.S.F. (Lost Souls Forever)", the album peaked at No. 4 on the UK Albums Chart, earning stellar reviews and making them critical darlings both at home and abroad. After extensive touring, the band released their 2006 sophomore album Empire to a No. 1 spot on the British charts. Since then they've topped the UK Albums Chart with three more albums, won NME's Best Live Act award, and been named "Best Group" at the 2010 Brit Awards. Kasabian continued their reign in 2014 with the release of their chart-topping fifth album 58:13, thrilling fans with another high-octane tour in support of the record.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

"Kasabian is the real deal. They put a tremendous amount of energy into their performance and If you are fortunate enough to have an opportunity to experience them live, you will leave a bigger fan. No gimmicks with this band, they play hard."

"Great English band...they really moved the crowd and the intensity of the music helped."

"As usual Kasabian put on a wonderful show, both musically and visually. Tom was his megalomaniacal self and Serge was beyond great. The show was fantastic and I wished it didn't end when they got off stage for the final time."

Arena rock in a small club

    by E.L.I. on 11/18/239:30 CLUB - WASHINGTON

What a treat it was to get to see such an Epic band in a small club. Traveled from GA to DC for it and have no regrets. Great show, top notch musicians and a great set list.

    Fun but little lacky

by issac on 11/18/239:30 CLUB - WASHINGTON

I thought the show was good and an excellent venue. The set list was good, but there are songs that sergo just can't carry with is nasal vocal. The focus is on sergio with the other band members dressed in black and sergio doing his rave like performance with laser gimmicks and such. See them 3 times same venue, first time with Tom 10(epic show) 2nd time with Tom 8.5. This time sergio only 6. New band name should be 6 it just not that great anymore.

    Kasabian was Perfect

by Steeves2 on 9/29/17The Wiltern - Los Angeles

Concert rule #1: Always show up in time for the opening act. we saw Kasabian second on a bill opening for Oasis at the Hollywood Bowl and they prove the rule. It should be noted that Jet opened that show and kind of disproved that rule, but.. Kasabian! Since seeing them by accident we've been wanting to see them on purpose. Their presence and music are what great Britpop concerts are made of. And the second time didn't disappoint! Even though they may be virtually unknown by Americans (the Wiltern show wasn't sold out), since we last saw them them have gone on to become a sensation abroad. They play arenas and even headlined Glastonbury. so, getting the chance to see them in an intimate venue was a treat. Unlike superstar dinosaur bands, there's really only one "perfect" set a Kasabian fan could hope for... and they played it! Brilliantly! Amazing musicianship and showmanship. If they would have played two nights, we'd have been back the second night. I only have two tips: for the audience; get to know the music. It's great hooky pop. And for the band, Mike the lead singer kept doing that kind of licking the "V" of his fingers in a way that suggests performing oral sex on a woman. It was completely incongruous with the otherwise god-natured fun of the show. It was actually kind of baffling, but certainly no reason not to enjoy other 99.99% of the show! Oh, the opening act was The Slaves, a weird punk duo in which one guy plays old school punk guitar while the other guys "sings" and beats two floor mounted drums and two symbols. It was VERY entertaining, but a little too heaving on trashy stuff and light on their authentically-conjured classic punk sound

Following some high energy punk from the support band Kasabian rocked the stage with an awesome mix of their new hits and old classics.

    Great Live Band

by lajivkttn on 9/27/17The Wiltern - Los Angeles

Didn't care too much for the opening band, the Slaves. They were entertaining for a few songs but their music became repetitive really quickly. Kasabian was amazing! Vocally they sounded just as good live as they do on recordings. The music was so infectious and tehy have great stage presence. We had a great time dancing. Will definitely see the again if they tour the US.

    Incredible show!

by IlliniJim on 9/22/17House of Blues Chicago - Chicago

My brother and I have always said that we would move mountains to see Kasabian if they ever came to Chicago. We could not believe that we would have the chance to see them at House of Blues. The band is very well known for their festival shows in the UK, where the mobs of fans go crazy for them. It's easy to see why. Their songs are upbeat and fun. Their musicianship is top-notch. And the lead singer and lead guitar player/ singer are amazing together. One of the best of over 100 concerts I have been to.

Its always a big ***WOW*** with Kasabian

by ellensusie on 9/22/17House of Blues Chicago - Chicago

I wish they would play bigger venues and come back to Lollapalooza. The last time I saw them in the states was at the Metro and they rocked the house! They put on another amazing concert at House of Blues and interestingly enough, the age range of attendees was very mixed. That tells me people of all ages have GREAT taste when it comes to this band. Would someone please bring them back to Lollapalooza in Chicago????!!!!

Have been to the Fox Theater many, many times, and love it. This was the first time I went upstairs. I chose to do so because it is getting hard for me to stand up for hours. I have to say that downstairs is more fun and to me the sound is better downstairs. I really like Kasabian and I really enjoyed the show. I will be back at the Fox soon, but I will try to go downstairs.

    Excellent Show!

by Auevo on 10/9/14Fox Theater - Oakland - Oakland

Wow, just wow. Kasabian was fantastic! The Fox Theater has now become one of my new favorite venues. The sound was outstanding, the seating super comfortable, the drinks not too expensive, the bathrooms are super clean, just an over all great experience! The opening band, Bo Ningen, was a great surprise too. We had never heard of them, but they were great!

    Kasabian... always awesome

by Pardeep on 10/4/14Sound Academy - Toronto

Kasabian live sets are always played with such enthusiasm and musicianship. It was wonderful to see them go through old favourites as well as some new material from from 48:13. However, the venue itself - The Sound Academy - may possibly have the worst acoustics on the planet. Seriously, Sound Academy... it wouldn't hurt for you to place some sound dampners on the walls! The venue is the only reason I can't rate 5 stars. Can't wait for Kasabian to come back... hopefully they will choose a better venue to showcase their awesome talent.

    There is no comparison.

by KaSab on 10/1/14Terminal 5 - New York

My first thought was that Kasabian at Terminal 5 was quite good. Then I realized that,oh, wait, I'm comparing it to other Kasabian shows. When I try to rank all the concerts I've attended in my 48 years of life, it seems that the only way to be fair to all the other bands is just to put "Kasabian" at #1 - otherwise, they would take up 6 of the top 7 slots. Long story short - you don't see anyone walking away from Kasabian thinking "I didn't get my money's worth." You get people saying "That show was amazing," "I can't even explain what I'm feeling right now," and "I've never seen a band with such energy." (All real comments I've heard from strangers seeing the band for the first time). Musically, they are excellent. They put 150% into every performance. Their music, a mixture of rock and electronica, has catchy hooks and enormous choruses, and is delivered somehow with both absolute sincerity and over-the-top absurdity. "Cut us and we bleed rock and roll" the band once said, and it's a statement as true as it is ridiculous - and it's meant to be. The band is a seamless unit led by the impossibly charismatic Tom Meighan, who must be the result of some sort of gene-splicing experiment between Mick Jagger, a fluffy white bunny and an angel. Guitarist Sergio Pizzorno writes all the tunes and is also very dynamic in his rock and roll posturings. One of the fun things about these shows is to watch how Tom and Serge play off each other. But credit must be given to Chris Edwards (bass) and Ian Matthews (drums) whose rock-steady rhythm section keeps the party rolling. Matthews is an unsung hero - he's an incredible musician, and is always being interviewed by drumming magazines and giving master-classes at universities. Also part of the touring ensemble are guitarist Tim Carter and keyboardist Ben Kealey. This is the stripped-down US tour band...on their home soil they also have a trumpeter and often a choir and a chamber quartet of beautiful women dressed in skeleton suits. It works - trust me. But this can't really describe the feeling of being at a Kasabian show in full swing. The band and audience feed off each other, formulating an energy which is somewhere between a rave, a score during the World Cup/Super Bowl/Insert-your-favorite-sporting-event, and going to see the Rocky Horror Picture Show. If the crowd is up for it, they know when to shout "Cloak and dagger!" during "Underdog" and "We need to raise the people!" during "Vlad the Impaler." They'll sing the bassline to "Club Foot" and the guitar riff to "Empire," and of course, the impossibly catchy refrain to "LSF," which you could hear echoing down the streets of New York after the Terminal 5 gig had ended. That's a common occurrence - you don't want to come down after a Kasabian high. Look, they headlined Glastonbury. They're the biggest band in the UK right now. And when they tour the US, it's in venues of 800-3000 with ridiculously underpriced tickets. Do yourself a favor and see them!
