Kany García In Concert
Honesty, credibility, and soulfulness are the hallmarks of world-class Latin pop star Kany García. The Puerto Rican singer-songwriter has been a potent presence in Latin music since 2007, when her debut album 'Cualquier Día' (Any Day) generated four hit singles, including "Hoy Ya Me Voy" (Today I'm Going), on Billboard's Latin charts and earned her Latin Grammy awards for Best Female Pop Vocal Album and Best New Artist.
García's robust voice and guitar playing have only grown stronger over a series of albums, all written or co-written by her, that mix passionate romantic tracks and confessional sincerity with a concern for social issues such as domestic violence. The conservatory-trained artist has also written tracks for Ha*Ash, Ednita Nazario, Pedro Capó, and Chayanne.
Born in 1982 to a former Catholic priest and a choir director, Encarnita "Kany" García de Jesús almost missed out on having any career at all when she nearly died in a car accident shortly after being accepted as a contestant on Puerto Rico's televised vocal competition 'Objetivo Fama.'
García's second album, 'Boleto de Entrada' (Entry Ticket), concentrated on pop, rock, and balladry. The track "Para Volver a Amar" (To Love Again) became the theme song of an anti-sexual violence campaign in Puerto Rico, and her 2011 Christmas song "Yo No Tengo Nah" (I Don't Have Nothing) benefited a mental-health institute. Her 2012 release, 'Kany García,' debuted at the top of Puerto Rico's pop chart with its surprising assortment of plena, bomba, and cumbia tunes.
A few months before releasing her joyfully optimistic hit album 'Limonada' in 2016, García bravely announced that she was leaving her guitarist husband for a same-sex relationship with her personal trainer. "In the world we live in, anyone who says it wasn't scary to talk about the subject is lying," she said two years later while discussing her new release 'Soy Yo' (I Am Me).
By speaking her truth, both on recordings and off, Kany has become a respected pillar of Latin pop power, with a personal brand that extends to a line of jeans for girls and a citrus-oriented perfume called "Up." But it's her intimate and relatable music that makes Kany García nothing less than the Latina Joni Mitchell.
Over the course of her career, Kany Garcia has brought venues such as the House of Blues (Dallas) and The Summit (Denver) to capacity.
This was a great performance by Kany unfourtanaly the sound master were not at to level. The sound was horrible most people stayed because of our love and loyalty to Kany, but I will not co back to the Toyota Dome Ct. Ever.

Last night's concert was truly excellent! The audience showered Kany with love, and we even had the joy of singing Happy Birthday to her. Kany's ability to connect with her fans is remarkable, as she generously treated us to three additional songs. Thanks to my wife's influence over the years, I've become a devoted fan of Kany, and now I just can't get enough of her music. She's turned me into a die-hard follower, and I couldn't be happier, dancing, singing, and enjoying the night with fellow fans on the floor. I want to give a special shoutout to the Venezuelan group at the Buckhead Theatre. They made me feel like I was back home in Puerto Rico and offered their support when a misguided individual thought it was okay to disrespect our Puerto Rican flag. Their solidarity and kindness were truly touching and made the night even more memorable.
Kany was magnificent. The show was one of a kind!!! Love it

It was very confused, general standing in front rows, and seating ticketed behind with little or no view of her at all. Will never go back to this kind of venue . Definitely you don’t get what you pay for . Very disappointed
Kany was like an angel singing but the place wasn’t goog I got a general ticket and I couldn’t see her during the concert only through the the screen because the theater Has a bad design I just heard the concert.Her time should make sure that everyone cúpula see the event even though they are paying for the cheapest ticket

I'm buy 2 tkts $421 and supposed have chairs 45/45 and big surprise went we be there is not chairs ,the chairs is on the back the theater price$48.. I'm can standing for more 3 hours and have to leave ..bc my tkts is on the front the stage .

The concert was amazing. She sang around 10 songs plus came back on stage and sang 2 more after her closing set. The venue was great! Worth seeing again
It was a 10/10 concert! She was so sweet & her voice was top notch 🤩
Kani was great. However the venue should use some updating when it comes to sound and stage. The sound was echoing. The dome is located outside of the theater (where the reception area is) They should add monitors, because unless you are a tall person, is difficult to appreciate the artist performance. The woman's bathroom was blocked by people, there was no staff to make sure you get by. So be prepare to share the men's bathroom. The drinks are a bit pricey, just like most venues, $13 and up. The food can also improve they only served pretzels and popcorn. I gave three stars because I love Kany. In my opinion, I will not come back to the Oakdale Dome for a performance.
I really liked how close I could see her. Even though everyone was standing I had the experience to really hear and see her. I think they could better the sound system. There were instances where I could not hear her voice.
The show was ok, but I feel like I paid to be standing for hours like sardines, all to just listen to everyone scream her songs. I will not attend a standing only concert again. Assigned seats are so much better and you don't have to wrestle all nigh to keep your spot.
It was the perfect night out with my sister, we enjoyed every moment of the nigh. I loved her energy and enthusiasm of on stage.
Kany was amazing! Based on her trajectory, she probably needs to perform in a larger venue. There were a few minor issues with the sound at the beginning but she was cool enough to make light of it. I enjoyed the concert!!
Pro - Good concert, great location, excellent singer, great concert. Cons - Concerts on a Sunday night is not for everyone mostly if you work early Monday morning, alcohol and water is expensive in this location; standing for over 2 hours and wait was not a good idea.
