KAMELOT IN CONCERT:
Power metal band Kamelot offers ticket buyers a theatrical, high-octane live experience that always gets fans’ hearts pounding. Audiences love Tommy Karevik’s mystical lyrics and soaring vocals, especially since he often invites them to sing along with his epic songs. Kamelot’s virtuosic musicianship provides a solid foundation for their majestic tunes, and guitarist Thomas Youngblood is sure to have heads banging with his pummeling, shred-filled leads. Throw in the thunderous, rapid-fire drumming of Casey Grillo and you have the recipe for an unforgettable live show. Kamelot has taken all their power and passion and poured it into their 2015 North American Tour, giving audiences a chance to see this thrilling visual and auditory spectacle for themselves.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Formed in Tampa, Florida, in 1991 by guitarist Thomas Youngblood and drummer Richard Warner, Kamelot has delivered classic metal to the masses for nearly two decades. When singer Roy Kahn joined the band in 1998, he helped the band achieve a new level of success with the album Siege Perilous. In 2005 the band taped their first music videos for the songs “March of Mephisto” and “The Haunting (Somewhere in Time)”, two standouts from the album Black Halo. With the release of Poetry for the Poisoned in 2010, the band made its first chart appearance in the US. They followed up with Silverthorn two years later, experiencing similar commercial success while also introducing new vocalist Tommy Karevik to the masses. Their 2015 album Haven continues the band’s hot streak and delivers the same epic story-telling and heavy metal virtuosity that have made them a favorite of metal fans all over the world.
About VIP tickets and the show was awesome the VIP was worth the money neither the concert or the VIP was a disappointment they were both great experiences
Kamelot are always incredible. Hard Rock has great sound and I really enjoyed the venue overall. My only complaint was having the show during Halloween Horror Nights and having to pay $30 for parking because of it.
I heard of Battle Beast through Spotify and listened to a few tracks over the last 6 months. I also heard of Kamelot and always enjoyed symphonic metal in general so I figured I would buy a few tickets to see both. Parking was a breeze at the Hard Rock Hotel and we walked to the venue. Xandria was first up and everyone was amazed at their talent and female Nightwish like vocals plus the vocalist was pleasing to the eye. Next was Battle Beast who took the show in my opinion. They came out like they owned the show. From hit songs Straight from the Heart to their latest songs, all were powerful and in your face! Definitely will see them again. Lastly was Kamelot which were the Headliner for the night. After a few songs their intensity just wasn't as the former bands and we decided to leave early. They did have a nice merchandise booth and we ended up buying a woman's tee to show support. The venue went to Battle Beast hands down. Powerful and Energetic Metal for all ages!
Venue has excellent sound. The Audio engineer balanced the dound expertly for the style of music. I was close enough to the stage to be able to hear the sound from the artists themselves. I will be looking for more shows at this venue. Plus Kamelot played a few songs from the past that I am very happy to have been able to see performed live.
Kamelot is my favorite band so they honestly could have been playing in a shack and I would have loved it still. They put on an amazing show, vocals were amazing Tommy and Melissa sound phenomenal live. Everyone’s energy was great and everyone connected with the crowd. There was a little boy next to me, probably the youngest person there, and they all made him feel so special, I just know that made his year. Meeting Thomas, Sean and Melissa afterwards was so surreal and they were so nice! I really appreciated the group coming out and letting me and the other crimson bride take a picture with them! They didn’t have to do that and I know they were probably wore out at that point in the night but they still did it and it was the cherry on top of my night. I can’t wait to come see y’all next time you’re in Texas!! -with love from one of your Texas Crimson Brides
Between the people attending the concert, the workers and the performers themselves that was the best concert I've ever been to. Everyone was so sweet and respectful. The two openers absolutely crushed it, then Kamelot came in and nailed it. Awesome music, awesome people, had a fantastic time!
One of the best "symphonic metal"bands out there. Go see them if get a chance.
See above listed Review Title. Never disappointed attending a Van Buren concert. Sound is always excellent. Employees are very nice and helpful...
The performances were really well done. Each band performed brilliantly. Thank you for the experience.
great venue great sound all around great experience we need more metal shows here
Great experience at the Van Buren. Battle Beast was the best band of the night. Tight band and amazing vocals!!! Kamelot were decent. Slightly on the cheesy side for my personal taste. I thought they were underwhelming. Xandria were very decent. All the bands were cool and grateful for the support. Go See Battle Beast!!! They Rock!
Beautiful venue, amazing show, can’t say enough. Kamelot, Xandria, and BattleBeast fully delivered! I can’t wait to see them again. Also the Wiltern is beautiful!
I LOVE this concert!! I saw Kamelot and Battle Beast for the second time and both times they brought the house down!! :D:D I love the venue...never been to Wilton, it's a nice, cozy theatre and the best part is I was able to dance since I wasn't restricted by seating:D I would most likely go to see them again:)
I was blown away! What a incredible show and what a incredible band! I can’t express enough how great they are. I have told everyone I know they have to listen to Kamelot!
Kamelot has a fantastic live show! If you like metal, they are power metal done the best. Great lights, singing and presentation
I love the layout of the Wiltern, the excellent balcony views, the huge stage - but the sound has always been subpar. No matter who I see there, no matter what genre, the mix is muddy, the drums are not distinct and it's lacking in overall power - I do not mean volume - just kinda meh. Compare that to the Belasco, also a Live Nation venue, there is no contest. Belasco knows how to mix and deliver full sound. As far as VIP. I used to pay $40 and get an underground parking spot, skip the line early entry, a VIP show lanyard and badge and real, hot food, first shot at merch. Then it went to $40, NO parking, early entry and middle-school lukewarm pizza. We are now at $40 for early entry and "pastries". Lemon bars, brownies, cookies and cheese danishes - off the shelf sugar, sugar and more sugar. What the heck Wiltern/Live Nation? VIP is not... VIP anymore - but the price remains the same. It's a $10 experience at most. Don't do it, not worth it, don't fall for it. You'll feel like you've been pranked. Too bad, the downstairs lounge is a nice place to hang before doors and Kevin the Bartender is an awesome guy! And all of the Wiltern personnel are great, even the security staff, which is rare.
I've seen Kamelot 3 times live now, and every time is such an amazing treat. They always pick incredible show starters and then they blow the roof off once they arrive. The sets are gorgeous. and they make use of them entirely. I hope that I get to go see many more of these concerts, my son even loved them this time. On a side note, Battle Beast was absolutely incredible, the crowd got so excited that they ended up playing a full 8 songs. I would go to a concert with them headlining as well.
The lead singer of Kamelot has a really beautiful voice but his stage presence isn't too great or maybe he had an off day and it was just leaking through? I'm used to A LOT more audience engagement from the lead singer. His guitarists were much more into that. I was in the pit and maybe I've just been spoiled by tremendously enthusiastic theatrical shows I've seen prior but only about three songs were interesting to watch performance-wise for me. Two of them were thanks to the duetist. Their opening bands were wonderful! I had heard of Xandria and listened to them before but never seen them on stage. And BattleBeast — I had never heard their music before but they stole the show! So much energy! Honestly, the openers had more headliner energy. I really loved Xandria and BattleBeast and ended up getting a shirt from the latter. I'd give 5 stars to these bands. <3
Check in was easy and quick, beverage service was quick, the venue is a nice open venue with a great sound system. Could not ask for a solid concert experience. Plus, Kamelot played an awesome setlist.
Kamelot was good But Battle beast set the Bar so high Kamelot could not deliver the same energy and excitement. Definitely worth every penny.
