KAISER CHIEFS IN CONCERT:

British rock outfit Kaiser Chiefs have been burning bright ever since rising to fame as part of the UK's post-punk revival scene in the early '00s. The Chiefs' sounded as fresh as ever on their 2014 album Education, Education, Education & War, a stellar slice of new wave grandeur that made for a perfect addition to their electrifying live sets. Whether they're treating fans to early favorites like "I Predict a Riot" or playing newer cuts like "Coming Home", the Kaiser Chiefs'  knack for big hooks and even bigger choruses never fails to satisfy on their unforgettable tours.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Kaiser Chiefs got their start in Leeds in 2000, releasing one album under the name Parva before reemerging in 2003 as the Kaiser Chiefs. They made their album debut under the new moniker in 2005 with Employment, a massive critical and commercial success that peaked at No. 2 on the UK Albums Chart and launched them to international fame with hit singles like "Oh My God" and "I Predict a Riot". The band's 2007 sophomore album Yours Truly, Angry Mob was an even bigger success, landing at No. 1 in the UKI and spawning the international chart-topper "Ruby". The band has remained a dominant force over the years, taking home three Brit Awards and becoming staples at some of the world's biggest festivals like Glastonbury. Kaiser Chiefs once again topped the UK Albums Chart in 2014 with Education, Education, Education & War, hitting the road shortly after for another electrifying tour in support of the album.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

"...the KC put on a blistering 90 min show. Ricky Wilson was in fine form, whipping the crowd into a frenzy as he leapt about the stage and made his customary charge to the bar for a few shots."

"Kaiser Chiefs never fail to put on the best, crowd-involved shows I've seen. The smaller venues are nice, but they don't disappoint at the bigger places either."

"Ricky Wilson is an unbelievable performer; have no idea where he gets all the energy! They did a nice mix of their best old and new songs; good connection with the audience"

  • well worth the effort

by LastDeadMouse on 11/4/15Music Hall of Williamsburg - BrooklynRating: 4 out of 5

One of only 3 U.S. shows this tour and lots of fun, even tho this could be considered a ‘warm-up’ gig for the upcoming festival dates. The new songs don’t stand up against the familiar ones (but I think that’s de riguer for these guys – or at least until the new ones become familiar). The new drummer is a powerhouse! The opener ‘Honduras’, looked like 5 teenage kids who should be playing pick-up basketball in somebody’s driveway, but delivered a smart, catchy set

  • Kaiser Chiefs @ Paradise in Boston

by SkullnRoses on 5/19/15House of Blues Boston - BostonRating: 4 out of 5

This show was downgraded from the HoB and it’s a shame that people don’t know what they’re missing, as these guys fill stadiums in their native UK. The songs are short, catchy and have that great sing-along quality that make you feel part of the crowd right away. In the cozy confines of the Paradise, the crowd was enthusiastic and gave them a hero’s welcome. The set list featured songs from the latest CD “Education Education Education and War”, but there were an equal number of old favorites, plus a B-side and a new one. My complaints were few: with their shorter songs, 18 of them go by way too quickly; and that I probably have to wait another 2 years for them to return to Boston.

  • Kaiser Chiefs Rocked Paradise!!!

by Devilhornes on 5/18/15House of Blues Boston - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

What an amazing show!! The Kaiser Chiefs played with a punk infused energy that's captivating. It was such an amazing experience to see them in such a small venue as they're more likely to fill arenas back in Europe. I can't wait for the next tour!!!

  • Kaiser Chiefs rocked it!

by CDawgyDawg on 5/14/15The National - RichmondRating: 5 out of 5

The Kaiser Chiefs played a great set to a small, but energetic crowd on a Sunday night. The National was eerily empty, however the band delivered an exciting high-energy set of their most popular tunes. The crowd seemed to know the words to nearly all the songs and sang along throughout the night. A great time. An appreciative crowd. The band deserved better.

  • Amazing Show

    by Bataan1942 on 5/13/15The National - RichmondRating: 5 out of 5

Kaiser Chiefs blew the doors off the theater - amazing, energetic show from start to finish. I did not want it to end. Priory (the opener) was good also.

  • I want to see them again!

Superb amounts of energy and a really awesome show. It was a ton of fun seeing Kaiser Chiefs. The crowd was small but KC gave us their all. I was very impressed and I am already looking forward to the next time they tour in the US.

  • (hardly) a quiet affair

by Jonnyyyy on 5/12/15The Pageant - St LouisRating: 5 out of 5

This concert was one I was anticipating for months and it did not disappoint. I have loved these guys since they started and though it was sad not to get to see Nick on drums, I still got to see Ricky, Peanut, and the gang do their thing live and I will never forget it. I have never been to a show at the Pageant that wasn't packed but I thought it added a touch of personal feeling to the show. Loved that. Ricky is the best frontman I have ever seen. So much energy.

A BRILLIANT gig - not many people in but Ricky and the boys gave a tremendous performance for those of us that we're!

  • Kaiser Chiefs put on a Great show!

    by RW1965 on 5/9/15The Pageant - St LouisRating: 5 out of 5

To bad more people in St. Louis don't know about the Kaiser Chiefs because the show was very good! The crowd at the Pageant was small but they gave it 100% anyway. I would suggest everyone go check them out.
