Great old school with Earth Wind and fire. Evening going great until the dreadful Vanilla Ice appeared. Throwing bottles of water at the audience if they weren't standing up and having a longer set than EWF just made no sense. Killed the evening and spoiled the Commodores set who were on straight afterwards. No performance at all from JT who seemed to just want to play off of Wayne Brady. A good evening but would not have gone if we knew Jt was doing nothing.

    Horrible.

by JTfanRI on 10/6/11Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino - Las Vegas

HUGE disappointment. Three friends and I flew out all the way from Rhode Island for this expecting to see Justin perform, seeing he has performed at this concert every other year. Not only did he NOT perform, he didn't even come out to thank the audience and close out the show. We were all really upset (and still are) - what a let down. Not cool. :( This year's show should have been called "Justin Timberlake's Friends" instead of "Justin Timberlake AND Friends."

We attend this event every year but this year we were very unhappy with Justin Timberlake. Concert ticket said "Justin & Friends" Not Justin hosts. That was false advertisement. Everybody expected him to sing even if it was one song. It would have also been nice if his fans got a thank you at the end. After all everyone of us all went FOR him. I know i sure didn't go for the 80's jam.. Vanilla Ice was horrible. The Commodores were even worse and yet they closed the show. The only good thing about this show was Wayne Brady.

by billywalnut03 on 10/5/11Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino - Las Vegas

I bought these tickets thinking i was going to see JT perform. But nothing. Very disappointed. nothing against the other artist but i would not of gone if i knew JT was just hosting and not performing. If this wasnt for charity i would ask for my money back.

JT"s friends were awesome, JT was absent....

by gymjunkie on 10/5/11Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino - Las Vegas

The show was too long, but when you pack that many acts into one night, 5 hours was not enough time.. Charlie Wilson, EW+F, Vanilla Ice, Commodores, Sugarhill Gang, Color Me Bad were great, even Wayne Brady impressed, but JT seemed uninterested. I will probably see the show next year, but JT was huge reason we attended. If JT and WB would have entertained more between acts, more of the crowd would have stayed. All in all, it was a great night, but when the lights came up and JT/WB did not come out to say goodnight,we figured they had already gone to their partys...the crowd lost interest by 12:00...

Where was your RESPECT for your audience?

by RespectPlease on 10/5/11Planet Hollywood Theater - Las Vegas

The only reason that the average rating for Justin Timberlake is so high is because many of the reviewers were from past shows. Apparently, the JT and Friends concert in '08, '09 and '10 were fantastic and unforgettable. I would venture to guess that the average rating for reviews from the 2011 show would be a "2" -- mainly because Justin did NOT perform. For me, however, I was much more disappointed that he didn't even bother to come back to close the show with a few remarks, gratitude to the audience, a summation of donations made to his charity (made by the audience that night via text-messages as prompted on the big screens) or to even just say Goodbye! He asked the audience to "show their respect" before E, W & F came out. . . but where was his respect for his fans who deserved at least a "thank you for coming out tonight" at the end of the 5-hour show. Most of the performances were terrific and loads of fun to watch. Wayne Brady was outstanding as a host. Vanilla Ice did not fit in with the scene and came off as too punk (especially with the skull images and demented dancing santa clown running around the stage). He played mostly new songs that were a disappointment (but allowed many to take a much needed bathroom break.) The last act, The Commodores, cranked the volume up way too loud, were over-the-top, and played far too long. By then a good portion of the audience had left, but the die-hards stuck around hoping to see Justin close the show. Then the lights came on, and it was over. Everyone seemed disappointed walking out of the theater. The show should be billed, in future years, as Justin Timberlake presents HIS FRIENDS. Anyway, I wish I could rate each band individually because some would definitely receive 5-stars; however, the let-down at the end drags my rating down to 2.

    Justin's & friends-More like just Justin's friends

by Carameltoshie on 10/5/11Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino - Las Vegas

I was completely anticipating that this show would include Justin Timberlake singing. And I don't think that I was off, by the title given to the public. If I had known that Justin would not be playing, there is no way I would have driven 700 miles each way to see a bunch of bands that my mom knows better than I do. I was so uterly let down by this concert that the only way that I can justify it in my mind, is to keep reminding myself that the money went to a good cause. Vanilla Ice was awful and the time it took in between all of the acts was ridiculous.

    JT was disappointing

by mermaidkingdom on 10/5/11TPA at Planet Hollywood - Las Vegas

The concert overall was ok. It was for a good charity and I enjoyed seeing Turbo B, EWF and Sugarhill. However, it was much too long, very misleading and I was disappointed in the end. After nearly 5 hours into the show, my friends and I asked when JT was suppose to do a preformance. When we were told that he wasn't going to our hearts sank and we were extremely disappointed (and angry). At least Wayne Brady did some sketches in between one of the sets. The event was not well put together. There was no flow between the acts and the hosts (JT and Wayne) did not even appear to be trying. In the future if Justin Timberlake does not plan to preform at the concert the events name should be changed from JT and Friends to JT Presents. Then at least fans wont get their hopes up in anticipation of seeing a few of their favorite songs.

    misleading

by FrankJo on 10/5/11Planet Hollywood - Las Vegas

Show was misleading - Justin did not perform. Most of the acts were rap bands. Show started 30 minutes late. All in all a waste of money.

    Not what I expected

by Kin1 on 10/5/11Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino - Las Vegas

I have attended this concert the past 3 years and this year was very different. It seems to me that Justin is no longer wanting to perform or host this event considering he was co-hosting with Wayne Brady. All the acts -excluding Vanilla Ice- were great and even Wayne Brady's improving was hilarious but, that doesn't make up for no performances from Justin himself. I know that I wasn't the only one disappointed and I feel the name of this event should be changed so next year if Justin decides to not perform no one else will regret purchasing tickets to something they are expecting to see him perform at.

    Fan Disappointed with JT

by sandy68 on 10/5/11Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino - Las Vegas

Travelled all the way from across the country to see JT and got nothing! Saw great performers from the commodores to color me bad, we expected at least a couple of songs and he sang nothing! NOT EVEN A TUNE! pissed and disappointed is all I can really say. People we met said previous years he at least sang an hour or two! Wow.

Deceiving Show - JT only MC'd - no singing!

by Lisaleiny on 10/4/11Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino - Las Vegas

Based on the past JT & Friends shows, I was under the impression JT was actually going to sing and perform with the Old School artists -- not just introduce his "Friends". I flew out from Milwaukee, specifically to see this show, and while the show itself was fun and entertaining -- it was not like his past JT & Friends shows and was not what I thought it was going to be. Wayne Brady was a great addition - and the show was 4 hours with short breaks in between artists, but the show started closer to 8:30 than 8pm as it was billed. JT could have at least come out after the last act to thank everyone for coming and close out the show. I wish I would have went in Year 1 --- back when he used to sing. I guess he is just an actor now..... I am a HUGE JT fan, but feel deceived and disappointed about this show. I've seen every JT and NSync concert in both Milwaukee and Minneapolis since 1997 -- this was not as I had hoped and come to expect from him.

Every Act out did themselves.I can even pick a Fav

by Raine9 on 10/4/11Planet Hollywood - Las Vegas

it was an absolute Incredible Show. The acts were amazing. The only thing I found dissapointing was Justin not coming to the stage at the end of the show and Thanking the audience for their contribution to the Charity. I do realize hes giving up his own personal time to do it to begin with but what these stars never realize is that there are Peeps like me that actually came to help donate to the Charity, esp a Charity for children. Did I get my moneys worth..Beyond Yes. Commodores, Earth Wind and Fire are you kidding me, I should of paid them more, and trust me I paid over $1500.00 for my 2 tickets but to keep it Real in this economy to spend that it doesnt take much at the end of the show to remind everyone it was a Charity for Children and to spend 5 minutes to just say Thank you to the audience. Hmm just my opinion but really who am I? Just a contributer to a worthy Cause. Peace XO

    So disappointed.

by itsjordyn33 on 10/4/11Planet Hollywood - Las Vegas

First off, the evening as a whole seemed thrown together. The sporadic videos between sets and the fact that the sound didn't work on them half the time was odd. The fact that Justin and Wayne Brady took forever to get onto stage seemed ill planned. For $100+ a ticket you would think they would have their stuff together. Another thing was the fact that there weren't even t-shirts for sale stating the event or charity. I thought that was a little weird. Second off, the order of the performers didn't seem very smart on the planner's behalf. Putting Vanilla Ice after Earth, Wind, and Fire, REALLY? What world are you living in that Vanilla Ice should have more stage time than the classics. Third off, considering this was an event for a children's hospital it wasn't very child-friendly. The dirty jokes and other events were a bit uncalled for. A family in front of us stormed out when Vanilla Ice came on stage. Ironically it was Vanilla Ice who was the ONLY act to bring a kid onto the stage with him. Which is another thing, you would think that it is because it is for a children's hospital there would have been children brought onto the stage or something. But no there weren't. Last off, Justin Timberlake not even performing one song and not even coming out to thank his fans for coming out at the end was a huge disappointment. I thought it was extremely arrogant of him to not have the decency to come out and perform at his own charity event or thank and end the show. Instead the lights just coming on was a rude way to set everyone on their way when they spent so much to be there. I am in college and the money my roommate and I had to spend on the trip out to Vegas, hotel costs, and ticket costs was outstanding and is something that we struggled to afford but because Justin Timberlake was supposed to perform we made it happen. The fact that he didn't perform honestly pissed us off. I know the two ladies who came from Columbus, OH, sitting next to us didn't appreciate it either.

    Never Again JT & Friends

by CatgirlSF on 10/4/11Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino - Las Vegas

The sound was horrible. Was there not time for a sound check? Did sound like any effort was made to make the sound better. There was too much time inbetween acts and that made the concert go way over time. I guess Justin and Wayne also thought it was too long because they left before the concert ended and didn't have the courtesy to thank the audience for coming. I felt bad for the Commodores. By the time they performed most of the audience left. At the end of the show my ears were ringing and I had a big ole headache. The whole show seems unprofessional. It was actually quite sad. I felt like I was at a second rate show with inexperienced hired hands in charge. Is Justin Timerlake too famous with his movie career that he couldn't even sing one of his own songs? Enjoy your fame now JT. Think of your fans before you became an actor! Overall, I just wanted the concert to be over so I could get something to eat. We decided to not eat and eat after the show. If we had known that the concert was going to end at 1:00 am then we would have eaten before. My friend have gone the past 3 years and raved about the past concerts. She was so embarrassed that she dragged us to Las Vegas to see the show this year.

    NO Justin Timberlake!!!!!

by Anonymous on 10/4/11Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino - Las Vegas

I purchased these tickes assuming Justin Timberlake was going to perform with his "friends". After sitting through 5 1/2 hours of other performers, we then realized that he was not going to perform. I spent a lot of money and time thinking it would be worth it. Next year he should change the wording on the ticket to be Justin Timberlake hosts. Many people sitting around me were very upset.

by Anabanana5 on 10/4/11Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino - Las Vegas

Well seeing that me and my friend waited for these tickets to go on sale at exactly 959 am and flew all the way the Vegas JUST to see Justin Timberlake perform since he hasn't been out on tour in 4 years hoping to see him bring sexy back but NO. He can throw a charity even but apparently he can't even donate his own time and talent to his own even! Every other performer was amazing and held up to there end of the deal other than JT himself! He really disappointed some fans that night.

    Good, but disappointed

by AG36 on 10/4/11Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino - Las Vegas

I really enjoyed the show, all the entertainers were great. But the simple fact that JT never played one song was incredibly disappointing. If he would have come out and sung one song, I probably would have given the show 5 stars.
