Open Book - was just great performance... nice mix of story telling to a blend of beautiful sounds . Enjoyable , relaxing ... he made you laugh, cry, and feel.

  • This is Justin Furstenfeld at his best!!

    by Bubo8698 on 6/21/15The Sinclair - CambridgeRating: 5 out of 5

I have seen Blue October at least 6 times & I don't recall a show where Justin was this in tune with the entire experience of his show. He was honest, funny, intimate, raw, brilliant. I laughed. I cried. I sang. Most importantly, I walked away with a sense of friendship with Justin. He let us in on some of the darkest parts of his past. You truly get to know Justin in the 2 hours he's on stage. He does a wonderful job of taking you on a journey of the bands beginnings to where he & they are at present day. I have never encountered an artist with as much love for their fan base as Justin. I would see him in this format over & over again...simply amazing.

  • Justin Furstenfeld is simply amazing!

Justin Furstenfeld of Blue October is great no matter what, but to see him live by himself in an intimate setting was beyond fantastic!!

  • Dang!

Justin Furstenfeld was on point! The passion in his voice and lyrics will put dents in you its so moving. It was a very heartfelt show with lots of laughs and a huge glimps into the reasons behind his lyrics. I'd go over and over again.

  • Kind of like watching a one man Broadway show

by Anonymous on 6/18/15Cone Denim Entertainment Center - GREENSBORORating: 5 out of 5

I definitely came for the music. When I heard it would be an hour of music with an hour of talking, I did the large eye roll then looked at my husband said 'why!'. Well, I was pleasantly surprised. Justin's story was very interesting and he is a great story teller. It was like watching a really good musical on Broadway, but with just one guy and a guitar. The small venue experience is always my favorite. Great show! Definitely go if you are a fan of Blue October.

  • Justin was absolutely AMAZING

Best show I have ever been to. Incredible. His vocals were amazing and it was just a chill, really cool show.

  • The Open Book Tour- breathtaking!!!

    by PhoenixRising36 on 6/15/15State Theatre - St PetersburgRating: 5 out of 5

This man, he takes my breath away!! He sings with not just his voice but his heart and entire being! I have been to several Blue October concerts but this was my first Open Book. It's just Justin, a mic and his guitar. Completely raw and vulnerable. You hear songs you've probably heard in the past. You hear them in a new light full of powerful emotion. You won't come away with the same "workout" like you would with a Blue October concert but you're sure to leave with an emotional drain and a calm that stays with you for days!!

  • Powerful

by FrostyKnockers on 6/15/15State Theatre - St PetersburgRating: 5 out of 5

I have been to hundreds of concerts and have seen at least 1,000 bands live. I have never seen a more engaging and powerful performance. To be walked through a troubled life in the matter of 2 hours was amazing. There is nobody in the music industry that can make you feel his pain quite like Justin. This is also the only show in which I knew there was no encore. The end was so powerful and emotional, I was ready to go home and reflect. Truly unforgettable.

  • Great show!!!

This was an awesome open book story telling music event!!

  • Intimate and revealing

    by Lizzybeth24 on 5/20/1320th Century Theater - CincinnatiRating: 5 out of 5

Justin Furstenfeld was an amazingly open, honest, and stripped down artist who connected on very real levels with his audience and fans. His voice was impeccable, and he was everything I wished all my favorite artists could be - authentic.

  • Justen Furstenfeld was entertaining.

    by racell55 on 5/16/1320th Century Theater - CincinnatiRating: 4 out of 5

I would recommend this concert to a number of my friends but I don't believe everyone would enjoy it as much as I did. Justen did a great job with the audience. I really enjoyed the rapport he established with the crowd. His singing is amazing and his songs are moving. I am looking forward to hearing him with the band, Blue October, in the future.

  • It's GREAT to have Justin back!!

by MelissaKD on 5/16/13Center Stage Theatre - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

Justin was awesome, but the ATL crowd, was the worst I have ever experienced! I would love to see the show again, in a different city.

  • Deeply Moving

by JustElizabeth on 5/16/13Center Stage Theatre - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

By far the deepest, most emotionally moving concert event I've ever been to! The intimate setting was fabulous; the crisp clarity of Justin's voice, with all its raw emotion was awe-inspiring, and the story he told, the story of his life, with all its ups and downs and honest answers to fan questions made this night one of the most memorable moments of my life. Best of all, hearing the story of Justin's journey to sobriety and spiritual transformation had me in tears more than once during this show!

  • Depressing

    by tchambers71 on 5/16/13Center Stage Theatre - AtlantaRating: 3 out of 5

The show was OK, but he takes many great songs and slows them down to half speed and is just laying them on an acoustic guitar. The result is a poor reflection of the real songs. The commentary he gives between each song is interesting but it really shows how self centered and over emotional most artists are. Worst of all was the crowd. Several "fans" felt the need to shout out answers or comments while Justin was trying to talk. Very annoying. So bad that the rest of the audience was telling them to shut up. Especially bad was this fat loser behind us named Theresa.

Wonderful open display of the history, evolution, and progression of Justin and Blue October. Delighted I was able to participate.

  • He touched my soul

by Anonymous on 5/15/1320th Century Theater - CincinnatiRating: 5 out of 5

You could not have asked for a more intimate and personal performance. Justin was at his best and his story was amazing to hear. I would see this show multiple times if I could!!!

  • Just.... WOW.

by Anonymous on 5/15/1320th Century Theater - CincinnatiRating: 5 out of 5

This concert was nothing short of amazing. Being just an acoustic evening it allowed Justin to really connect with the audience on a personal level. He even read a few pages from his book and gave you a little insight into his thoughts as he wrote some of the songs Blue October fans know and love. And, lets face it, Justin gave an experience worthy of Justin. If you're a fan, I wouldn't miss this one for the world.

  • Blue October = Underrated!

by vvovakes on 5/8/13Theatre of Living Arts - PhiladelphiaRating: 5 out of 5

Blue October has to be one of the most underrated bands in the business! That is largely due to their frontman- Justin Furstenfeld. Justin is a brilliant song writer. The words he chooses and how he uses them- blows me away. My fist will always be in the air for him and Blue October. This show was an intimate look into a few of their songs and was coupled with entertaining stories that expained them a little bit. He also read from his book Crazy Making- which I'm glad I got a few years ago and became familiar with. Justin is amusing and heartfelt. I am a fan.
