    Da Bears Movie That Wasn't

by StangSteve on 6/20/10Park West - Chicago

I guess I was a little let down by this show expecting more skits from Saturday Night LIve to be incorporated into the movie script and they weren't. I knew this was going to be a reading of a movie script but thought there would be more acting out on stage, being a stage show. The graphics helped but also piece-mealed the show making it fragmented at certain points. I usually like Richard Roeper but he was somewhat robotic being the narrator of the script. Maybe he didn't have time to look at the script thoroughly. The people that stole the show were Robert Smigel, Joe Mantegna, George Wendt and Horatio Sanz. The other people tried to hold the script together but once again fragmented. I see why the movie was never made. It was somewhat farfetched and corny.

A Must See For Chicago Sports Fans

by ChgoFan on 6/20/10Park West - Chicago

Absolutely outstanding program for Chicago sports fan. See a Chicago icon, Mike Ditka, as well as Ryan Dempster, Keith Van Horn and many Chicago based reporters. George Wendt, Joe Mategna, Horatio Sanz and Robert Smigel provided hysterical representations of the Chicago fan. My husband and I absolutely loved it. I believe it's one of the rare theatrical performances that Chicago jocks could really enjoy. An unexpected moment was the auctioning of autographed memorabilia.

    Da Bears was Da Best

Great show. The best was the impromptu show afterwards. A must see!

I never laughed so much - the nasty show is wild, and unlike some may expect, is not just dirty jokes, it's actually very diverse, it touches on a broad range of politically sensitive issues, such as religion, environment protection, relationships and more. Nothing is spared :)))

    Hilarious!

    by ddgrblue88 on 6/19/10Vic Theatre - Chicago

Aziz Ansari was very funny throughout his whole set and had the whole place rocking. In terms of opening acts, Hannibal Burress (sp?) was awesome and I wished we could have heard more from him. The second guy, John something, was fine and funny in parts, but didn't feel as polished as Hannibal or Aziz.

I didn't stop laughing. And if Kells doesn't give Merriam-Webster a call to set up that collaborative video dictionary I'll be extremely disappointed.

    Okaaaaay

    by Jaxs44 on 6/18/10Vic Theatre - Chicago

The opening comedian was hilarious. He should have went second because the second opening act was just okay til his last story. Aziz was a little disappointing. I would recommend the show to a friend but would say his first special was better.

by goobsgreat on 6/18/10Vic Theatre - Chicago

the opening acts killed! well Hannibal did atleast... when Aziz came out the atmosphere changed. he didnt recycle ANY jokes! yes all new jokes even Raaaaaaaandy was new! gotta love a comedian who knows what the fans want. im tired of all these so called "great" comedians who do the same thing everyday.

    RAAAAAAAAAAAAANDY

by GabbyAl on 6/18/10Vic Theatre - Chicago

Aziz Ansari was hillarious! He has so much energy and stage presence, and never left us hanging. The only reason I gave 4 stars is because his set couldn't last any longer!

    Aziz and The Vic

by chefwounded on 6/17/10Vic Theatre - Chicago

Aziz was hilarious. All new jokes that were great. On the bad side of things the venue was horrible. They tried to fit as many rows of folding chairs as they could in the fron. Nobody had any leg room. Soom people couldnt even sit in some of the chairs because of no leg room. Also there was a $25 minimum to use your credit card at the bar. And if you wanted to use the atm it was a $3 fee.

    Below expectations....but funny.

by beachfun on 6/17/10Vic Theatre - Chicago

Having seen his Comedy Central special, listened to his cd, and seen him on Parks and Rec., we expected a great show. All of the jokes were new, which was excellent, but many followed the same format as his older material. You could expect what he was going to say. His set was also extremely short. A headliner should have at least an hour of comedy - especially for the price. I have been to many comedy shows and this one was not a top list maker. Maybe we had high expectations, but a performer should try to reach those. We came from out of town and left the show wanting a lot more. If you like him, see him, but don't be surprised when you walk out of the theatre and it's still daylight.

If you are an Aziz fan, you'll have fun. Not to mention his surprise guest with a lotta As. But I wish Aziz would do more general material (eg. cold stone creamery or thread count type stuff) rather than just R rated stuff. He's way better than what his material in this event suggests.
