About

Spanish singer/songwriter Julio Iglesias is proof that romance is alive and well. The passionate balladeer was officially recognized by Guinness World Records in 2013 as the best-selling male Latin artist of all time with more than 250 million albums sold worldwide. He's also one of the world's most successful touring artists, one who continues to sell huge numbers of tickets for shows at arenas and stadiums around the world. Iglesias has released more than 80 albums, in 14 languages, over the course of his career, which peaked from the late'70s through the '80s. In North America, he's best known for two duets from the '80s: "To All the Girls I've Loved Before" (with Willie Nelson) and "All of You" (with Diana Ross). Ironically, Iglesias may owe his storied career to a near-tragedy. He turned to music when he was 20 years old, after he was paralyzed in a car accident that ended his career as a goalkeeper for the Real Madrid soccer team. He's said that he learned to play guitar while recovering over the course of three years, and eventually regained almost all of his mobility. In 1968 he won a songwriting contest that led to his first recording contract.  The following year he released his debut album, "Yo Canto," in Spain. By 1971, he'd sold his first million records and begun to expand his fan base throughout the Spanish and English speaking world.

    It can be better

by gilberto on 2/27/19The Plaza Theatre Performing Arts Center - El Paso

Even though the 99% of the assistances were Hispanic, Julio sang most of the songs in English and also most of his parliaments. We were expecting more of his oldest and famous songs. Inexplicably in some songs Julio hold the microphone under his mouth and obviously the sound was very weak.

I loved the concert, but I was up close.

by MARIA on 2/27/19The Plaza Theatre Performing Arts Center - El Paso

I think that the sound check people needed to do a better job because people who were further back were not able to hear when Mr. Iglesias was talking. Even though I was up close I had a hard time hearing him and had to strain at times. Other than that, I enjoyed it very much.

The concert was good. He talks to the audience in Spanish

by A. H. on 2/27/19The Plaza Theatre Performing Arts Center - El Paso

The concert was good. He talks to the audience in Spanish which makes it difficult for non Spanish speakers but his music is great and performance is fine.

    Good show, horrible audio

by RC on 2/27/19The Plaza Theatre Performing Arts Center - El Paso

The show was good, but the quality of the audio was horrible. There was a constant buzzing noise and the voices at times were hard to understand. People called Julio on it and he tried to correct the sound levels but it was a back and forth with audio feedback. It’s a shame because the show itself was good and Julio was very professional even with the problems.

Worst concert my husband and I ever attended

by K. W. on 2/24/19Smart Financial Centre at Sugar Land - Sugar Land

We were very disappointed in this concert. One of my favorite songs "All the Girls in my Life" was the worst! They could not even make it all the way through the song. The whole concert seemed like a practice session. I wish I had never gone so I could have my old memories of Julio.

    Great Concert

by Grace on 2/22/19McAllen Performing Arts Center - McAllen

Venue was perfect! Julio Iglesias still has that awesome and romantic voice! The show-dancers & back up singers were fantastic. I was hesitant to purchase tickets because I had read many negative reviews. I was happily surprised. The only con I have is that I would’ve enjoyed more of his original SPANISH songs. I loved the show ❤️

by Gibby on 2/21/19McAllen Performing Arts Center - McAllen

Great show, great performers/dancers including the band! The backup singers were spot on and they danced superbly! First time I attend one of his concerts and he didn't disappoint! My mom and sister went with me and they really enjoyed the evening.

    Great Musicians

by MG on 2/21/19McAllen Performing Arts Center - McAllen

The music was great, with the concert being heavily attended by the Hispanic community, I expected him to sing more Spanish songs. Too many covers for someone that has a huge song list. I wish I would have seen him 10-15 years ago. I am sure those concerts were better.

People in front of us were noisy.

by Y. Y. on 2/19/19Smart Financial Centre at Sugar Land - Sugar Land

Concert was awesome, Julio Iglesias was fabulous as usual. BUT people in front of us were so noisy and hyper, moving so much, raising hands, standing which was so hard for us to have a good view of the stage and enjoy the show.

    Sound check?

by TyM on 2/18/19Smart Financial Centre at Sugar Land - Sugar Land

It could have been an awesome concert but the sound issues were just too numerous to ignore and at the end, they ruined a good concert. if the performing artist complains about the sound issues, you know it is bad. it is a shame that such a nice concert hall cannot get their sound system right.

Great artist, voice still the same, sound can be improved

by Javy on 2/18/19Smart Financial Centre at Sugar Land - Sugar Land

Mr Iglesias is a great artist, his voice remains the still the same with a great quality, he controls the scene and his band producing magic over the scenario. The selection of songs was excellent. His band, musicians and singers were also very good. I would definitely go back to one of his concert. The sound quality needs lots of improvement. They worked over it while in the concert but that doesn’t look good for such a great artist. He did his best trying to cope with that poor sound. I have been there for other concerts and the sound was great. At the end it was a better sound and even Mr Iglesias mentioned that to his sound engineer.

Please announce that using cell phones to take pictures during the show is rude. Other people paid to see the show. Maybe all those without cameras should stand.

    Terrible audio quality

by Angel Fattorini on 2/18/19Smart Financial Centre at Sugar Land - Sugar Land

A lot of audio feedback from mic. I also could hear a buzzing sound when he was talking to the audience. It was so obvious that there was an audio problem because he kept talking to his audio engineers. He even sang a song twice to prove it (Caruso) Also, the sound was so low I could hear people talking while he was singing. He tried to make it better but with little success. I was expecting a better concert experience than what I got.
