About

Julia Michaels in Concert

Julia Michaels' songs are all about bringing listeners into her emotional world and her live shows have a similar vibe, offering an opportunity for catharsis through sing-alongs (and scream-alongs) with her biggest hits. A singer-songwriter who's penned her own smashes as well as hits for numerous others, Michaels has often opened for collaborators like Shawn Mendes, Maroon 5, Niall Horan and Keith Urban, but embarked on her first headlining tour in 2019.

Julia Michaels Background

Julia Michaels established herself as a pop-music force in the early 2010s, when she co-wrote songs for stars like Demi Lovato and Selena Gomez. "Miss Movin' On," her single for the girl group Fifth Harmony, made the Hot 100 while setting the table for a slew of chart successes as a songwriter and, eventually, as a singer in her own right.

In the mid-'10s, Michaels co-wrote songs for a variety of big names, including Kelly Clarkson, Zedd and Jason Derulo. She returned to the charts in a big way in 2015 when multiple songs of hers made the Hot 100, including Selena Gomez's Top 10 singles "Good For You" and "Hands to Myself," Hailee Steinfeld's defiant "Love Myself" and Justin Bieber's swaying chart-topper "Sorry." Michaels also worked with the likes of Gwen Stefani, Little Mix and Demi Lovato that year, while in 2016 she co-wrote songs for Britney Spears, John Legend and Nick Jonas.

The year 2017 was a different kind of breakout for Michaels: she commanded the spotlight herself. Her first solo album, Nervous System, came out of the gate strong with her unbridled debut single "Issues" reaching the Hot 100's Top 20. She's still busy collaborating, though; she co-wrote Anne-Marie's "2002" and Keith Urban's "Parallel Line," while also releasing duets with the likes of James Bay, Niall Horan and Selena Gomez.

Julia Micheals may have been one of my favorite singers for years but I think you really judge them based off live performances and by god she was amazing. Not only did she sound amazing but she was kind and really made everyone feel included and safe. If you are looking for a artist to see and feel all the feels Julia is your girl.:)

Julia Michaels was absolutely amazing. For a smaller theatre, she put on such an uplifting, professional performance! Her voice is stunning along with her inspiring lyrics - would definitely see her again!

    A QUEEN

by Ana on 11/2/19Webster Hall - New York

I went to this show alone because I love her that much. Her energy was so amazing that you couldn’t help just to smile. Every song she performed was so relatable. Especially being a 20something and trying to navigate your way throughout the world.

by L. M. on 10/29/19House of Blues Boston presented by Cricket Wireless - Boston

I could really tell that she was having so much fun performing. The band also had their own part in the show and wasn't just in the background! The songs are also pretty different when they are played live, they are so much better the atmosphere is amazing!

    relate-able and enjoyable

by Aivlvia on 10/29/19House of Blues Boston presented by Cricket Wireless - Boston

Julia Michaels was a great performer and the venue did well with audio setup. A bit loud on percussion for my tastes, but that's the style of live events. I really appreciated Julia's interaction with the audience, enthusiasm on stage, and openness with her struggles with anxiety. Sorry that the review is a bit dryly worded, hard to write out the way the feels hit you while listening.

    Amazing show!

by Coco 13 on 10/29/19House of Blues Boston presented by Cricket Wireless - Boston

I've been to a lot of concerts. A lot. I've seen artists at the beginning of their careers and once they are well known. This was one of the best shows I've seen. I've been a fan for a while and it's great to see how she's grown as a performer. She knows how to work the stage and her voice is just incredible. You can tell she's having fun up there and she gets so excited when the fans know all the words. I've never been to the House of Blues and was pleasantly surprised. Even though our seats were way in the back we could see everything and the sound was great. If you have the chance to see Julia Michaels GO! You won't be disappointed.

Julia Michaels truly puts on the best shows. She is so energetic and is all over the stage and even goes out into the middle of the crowd. She really interacts with her fans and makes sure they know that she can see them. Highly recommend you go see her if she comes near you!

by LexiJ on 10/29/19House of Blues Boston presented by Cricket Wireless - Boston

I was in the mezzanine, which gave a great view of the stage. She was an absolutely amazing performer. When she spoke she was amazingly down to earth, and her and her band really knew how to keep a crowd engaged.

    Amazing performance!

by DG3 on 10/29/19House of Blues Boston presented by Cricket Wireless - Boston

Julia Michael hits it out of the park in concert. She is not only a terrific artist, but she engages the crowd and is fully immersed in her performance, and invested in the crowd's experience. I've been to a lot of concerts, and Julia Michael's is one of the very best.

    AMAZING!

by Emily F on 10/28/19House of Blues Dallas presented by Cricket Wireless - Dallas

I knew she would be amazing but I didn't even expect her band to be so much fun! Honestly they were so interactive, goofy, and all around amazing. Then entire concert was so upbeat and it was probably my favorite concert now. The opening act Rhys Lewis was phenomenal as well. Before he was even off the stage I had already downloaded his music on Apple music lol. 10/10

Julia michaels was 11/10 the best concert I’ve ever been to. She was so cute and so talented!! This was a great therapy session and she developed a really nice safe space where all of her fans felt accepted and were all so nice!! Her band was AMAZING, so involved and wonderful performers in their own right. The venue was also super nice! Very intimate with good staff, and a lovely bar.

    Absolutely amazing

by Tari on 10/28/19Theatre of Living Arts - Philadelphia

The venue never actually scanned my ticket, which was a little shocking. I felt like if I didn’t have a ticket I wouldn’t have been stopped. But Julia was amazing. She has amazing stage presence, sang in the middle of the crowd to make sure everyone got their monies worth. She also encouraged a fun and safe environment where people felt safe to enjoy the show they wish by jumping, dancing, singing, etc. she really encourages crowd participation and this kept the energy high. She also took some time to recognize mental health and even had a cathartic scream that was... cathartic. Such an amazing show will be definitely seeing her again. 😍
