Judas Priest on Tour

British heavy metal powerhouse Judas Priest has released 22 albums over four decades. They laid much of the groundwork for the heavy music of the 80s with their two guitar attack of revved up blues-based riffs They continue to tour, treating metal fans to extravagant live shows and spirited renditions of their unmistakable anthems. Ticket holders are sure to get to a concert early because they don't want to miss Singer Rob Halford's stage entrance. He emerges from a cloud of fog riding on a Harley Davidson, clad head to toe in leather-studded S&M gear. The band released a live DVD of their Epitaph World Tour in May 2013, which well received and features 23 tracks covering most eras of the bands storied career.

Judas Priest in Concert

The group formed in 1969 in Birmingham, England and released their first album in 1974 entitled Rocka Rolla. This was soon to be followed by Sad Wings of Destiny in 1976, which gained the group a wider audience in the UK. The group's next three albums: Sin After Sin, Stained Class and Hell Bent for Leather were released in 1977, 1978 and 1979 respectively, and showed a band evolving its sound into shorter songs that still retained a heavy metal punch. Next came the album British Steel in 1980, which featured "Living After Midnight", "Breaking the Law" and "United" — all earning regular radio play. Point of Entry was released in 1981, followed by Screaming For Vengeance in 1984, which went double platinum. The 2008 concept album Nostradamus found them pushing boundaries by challenging their listeners to consider how "metal" the man of prophetic talents actually was. Over the next four years the band toured relentlessly and they show no signs of letting up, with an impressive schedule of tour dates on the books for 2014.

    The Priest is Unreal

by Therocker on 7/26/09AT&T Center - San Antonio

What a show from Judas Priest!! I have never seen this band, and it was unreal. The visual and sound from this band ,was in my all time top Ten. This includes shows from Led Zepplin,ZZ Top,Rolling Stones, just to name some of my top ten. The singer really captures your attention, and was something else. I would like to see them again soon, and wished i could have driven to Corpus Christi,Tx.,to see them the next night. One of the highlights was, when the lead singer rode his motorcycle on the stage, and then sang a song on the bike. This band is truly amazing, and is the definiton of Heavy Metal!! ,

    Whitesnake and Priest!

by CeeGee on 7/26/09AT&T Center - San Antonio

Enjoyed the event overall. Sad to see our heroes getting old. Both David Coverdale and Rob Halford spent a lot of time letting the crowd sing the songs. I have seen Priest 3 times in SA in the last two years or so and to their credit they have played a different set each time. Tonite I enjoyed "Nostradamus" as much as any of their older hits. Whitesnake? Wish I'd seen them 20 years ago. God bless Cov for hanging in there. His band was smokin' though. Thought "Still of the Night" was still great.

Turn the amps down a bit

by Vivv on 7/26/09AT&T Center - San Antonio

I have a couple of suggestions for next time. Here they are: 1) Don't open the opener. 2) Turn. It. Down. 3) Painkiller was suspiciously absent. Why. Why why why. why. 4) Enforce your no smoking rule a little more vigorously. 3) Why. 5) Needs more pyrotechnics. All in all, I would recommend this concert, even though it was a one-night event and will never happen again, and the opener opener pop band whatever reminded my friend of digimon. That is not a good thing for a metal band.

Judas hasn't lost a step, probably never will!!

by Gibby12 on 7/26/09AT&T Center - San Antonio

I can't to explain the intensity I felt at the show last night. Not only was Judas on, so was Whitesnake. I also have to mention the opening band from Michigan. They play with a lot of heart. I have to look them up. Recommend the show for all to see.

    Still Rockin'

by CobaltBob on 7/26/09AT&T Center - San Antonio

This is the third time I've seen Judas Priest in concert and it was the best so far. Whitesnake got everyone going then Priest played British Steel in it's entirety. They then went into a bunch of their classics and kicked some more ass. Highly recommend seeing them on this tour.

The beast that be the priest

by madmaxfan on 7/26/09Pine Knob - Clarkston

On a wednesday night in Detroit preist rolled thru the dte energy music theater and they demolished the place. From the opening song to the encore Halford was wailing like it was 1984 and the band was shredding away like no ones buisness. The only dissapointing thing was the lack of attendance. I would say they drew maybe 8-9000 out a 16000 seat venue. Still one of the best shows i've seen so far this summer. Whitesnake was little rough but not bad.

    Judas Priest Rocks!

    by Mike59 on 7/26/09PNC PAVILION - Cincinnati

Judas Priest is awesome. The concert acoustics, even in a pavilion, were outstanding. These guys haven't lost anything over the years. Halford hits the high notes the same as he has done for decades. The guitar duets with Tipton and Downing are equally impressive and the newest cut "Nostradamus" was one of the best songs of the night. Whitesnake could have been great as well - I can't say because the sound engineer ruined the entire performance. Guess what happens when the bass drum volume is set to "kill"? The vocals, guitars and most everything else is drowned out by DISTORTION. I love some of the guitar work by Whitesnake - would have been nice to hear it. Oh well, I'll listen to the CD. Small price to pay to see Judas Priest - true heavy metal gods!!!

    Judas Priest rocked.

by Bonze on 7/26/09AT&T Center - San Antonio

This was the best show I've been to all year. As usual, Judas Priest rocked the house. They played the complete British Steel album plus some older tunes. Of course Halford rode out on a motorcycle later in the show.
