Juan Luis Guerra on Tour
Juan Luis Guerra has created a synthesis of slinky bachata and posh merengue rhythms, and when he performs it live, he brings a slice of the Dominican Republic's culture to the stage. As one of the DR's biggest musical exports, the suave crooner has captivated legions of fans with his sophisticated folk formula. He's joined forces on stage with some of the best, including Sting, The Rolling Stones, Paul Simon and Maná.
Juan Luis Guerra in Concert
Juan Luis Guerra Seijas was born in the Dominican Republic in 1957, and like love at first sight, Guerra felt an instant affinity for his country's native genres. Back then, bachata and merengue ran in different circles — the former was considered crass and lowbrow, while the latter would be dubbed the national identity of DR by decree. The artist launched his singing career in the late '80s, but it wasn't until 1990 with Bachata Rosa that he catapulted bachata to global prominence. He elevated the genre by adding a tinge of merengue into his musical recipe — Guerra is widely considered the first to do so — and earned a Grammy for it. He kept the sonic elegance going strong, but the racy double entendres, traditionally a characteristic of bachata lyrics, got the song "Burbujas de Amor" banned in several countries. Today, "Burbujas" is recognized by Rolling Stone as one of Latin pop's greatest songs of all time. With over a dozen studio albums that also dabble in rock, salsa and even gospel, the legendary performer proves that his creativity is limitless In 2019, the Billboard Latin Music Awards honored Guerra with the Lifetime Achievement Award for his artistic excellence.

The opening act techno DJ, the band (4.40), the visuals were all absolutely 5 stars. The volume combined with the echo-encumbered acoustics of the venue (hockey arena) pulled the score down a bit.
JLG is a fantastic entertainer with a large catalog of music. His band, 4:40, is tremendous too. The venue isn’t great. We waited more than 30 minutes in line to get in the one entry door. But once the music starts, you forget about the hassle.
Most everything was great, except for the parking prices (really getting out of hand) and the sound system really showing its age. Compared to other venues I've attended recently, this one was certainly loud but it was very hard to make out the singer's voice from the instruments.
It was an amazing concert, the only thing is that the sound was too high!!
A great concert it was what I expected and more. Juan Luis Guerra first time in Salt Lake City and he brought the crowd. I hope he comes again

Beautiful concert. A love all songs. Happy to be there
Awesome music, visuals were amazing and the light up bracelets were a plus! Juan Luis Guerra had us dancing in out seats and had an amazing night!!
The whole point of going to a Juan Luis Guerra concert is to hear him sing. But the band sound was so loud you couldn't even hear Juan Luis Guerra's voice. I still enjoyed the concert but they should improve the sound and how they mix the instuments.
The concert was so good, I danced the entire time and it was a blast!
So worth it! JLG is amazing and the concert was great. Danced the entire time. MAESTRO
