JP Cooper on Tour

JP Cooper is a singer/songwriter who blurs the lines between pop, folk, soul, and gospel. His genre-bending musical style manifests in timeless songs and intoxicating melodies.

He became widely known after co-writing and being featured on Jonas Blue's "Perfect Strangers" in 2016. The song has more than 800 million plays on Spotify and reached No. 2 on the UK charts and made the Top 10 in several other countries.

Shortly after the release of "Perfect Strangers," Cooper's second single, "September Song," from his debut album Raised Under Grey Skies (2017), became a radio hit and reached No. 7 on the UK Singles Chart.

After several singles, a few EPs and an international tour, he released his long-awaited sophomore album, She, in February of 2022.

Cooper is an artist known for putting his audience first. You can believe him when he said, in an interview with entertainment.ie, there are "no additives, no preservatives, just straight-up honest music." Certainly qualities any true music lover will appreciate.

Catch JP Cooper live when he comes to a city near you.

JP Cooper Live in Concert

John Paul "JP" Cooper was born in Manchester, England, on November 1, 1983.

Growing up in Manchester, he always enjoyed writing in school. It was a natural progression to combine his talent with words and his love of music. While still in high school, he formed a band and they had some local success but disbanded in 2006.

The first album he owned was Michael Jackson's Bad. Growing up, he listened to The Drifters, Counting Crows, James Taylor, and Pearl Jam.

He self-released singles and EPs until he signed with Island Records in 2014 at the age of 30. He says he had "a lot of good years making no money making music."

His debut album, Raised Under Grey Skies, is a tip of the hat to Manchester and his childhood -- his mother died of cancer when he was only 11 months old. In Mahogany Sessions YouTube interview, he said the song "We Were Raised Under Grey Skies" just "seemed obvious."

In addition to his musical endeavors, he and a group of friends from Manchester have started a brewery called Grey Skies Brew Co.

In an interview with FaceCulture, he says, "Just seeing people smiling with their friends and having a good time; it's a beautiful thing to offer that and be able to create a soundtrack for amazing times in people's lives -- I'm a lucky man."

    Beautiful, soulful, moments of connection

    by KZ on 1/8/24

I've been to 2 JP Cooper gigs. Incredible. His authenticity and musicianship create charismatic, captivating performances. He is generous with the spotlight- pushing forward his collaborators and support acts to let them shine. He has the most beautiful voice and tells stories through his music.

    Out of this world!

    by Bryan Junior on 3/21/23

Ive been following JP online for some time now and jumped at the opportunity to see him live when I saw his tour announced. The stage was set with a everything that was needed and nothing more. A top tier keyboardist, world class guitarist, an absolutely phenominal backup singer and JP. The mood and energy in that room was nothing but love and appreciation for this mans talents. He touched on stories from his life back in England and just touched everyones souls with his gentle and fun personality. His voice is literally that of an angel. I closed my eyes a few times and just basked in the magic coming out of those speakers. Ive been to hundreds of concerts and the only person I’ve ever heard sing as clean and perfect live is Chris Stapleton! I’m already waiting for the next chance to see him live. Do not miss this show if you love and appreciate good music and a voice like no other. 100 stars!

    JP Cooper is the BEST!

by Stephanie on 3/10/23Bowery Ballroom - New York

JP Cooper put on such a beautiful show. His vocals and runs were unbelievable. I didn't think he could get any better than the recorder but his authenticity and storytelling pierce through every line he sings. His calm, humble demeanor was memorizing and connected the whole room. I smiled and sang through the whole show. I definitely recommend going to a JP Cooper show! I know I'll be at the next one!

    Amazing performance, 100% recommend~

by Steph on 3/7/23Le Studio TD - Montréal

JP Cooper was one of the best concerts I have been to in a long time! He was extremely humble and down to earth, he engaged the audience throughout the show. All of the good classic songs and some new ones. Good opening act as well! The venue was small and quaint. Although if you weren't in the front or on the balcony, you couldn't see the entire band so make sure to get there early! I wish the venue was a bit bigger! Other than that, amazing! 5/5 stars!

Great Concert, Not the best venue

by Beth on 3/7/23Le Studio TD - Montréal

I enjoyed the concert, but the venue was very small. There are barely any seats, the second floor is tiny with no elevation so you need to be in front to actually see the stage. There is only one exit/entrance, which made it very difficult to leave after the concert because people were blocking the exit to get their coats from coat check. Not the safest venue in my opinion.
