We have followed Joy Behar on the view and after the view, but not in a few years. We had a good time, but her show wasn't quite as good as it used to be. I would rate it as 3+ stars, better than average but not sure would recommend.
Joy has a lot of similarities to Joan Rivers but still manages to be unique. We went to be cheered up and she did the job well. Her opening act was also very good but the show was a little shorter than we expected about 1 hour..
She was very good, and so was buddy fitzpatrick her opening act. A good show.
Loved the show. Both Joy and Susie are very funny women--great material and delivery. They have a terrific rapport with the audience. I can see them time and again and laugh and enjoy each time.
Can't think of a better night out than one spending 2 hours with Joy Behar. She's cutting edge, irreverent, natural- and hysterical. Forget comics with formulaic jokes; this is improv comedy.
a little too liberal for me and very much women orientated
Unfortunately I was disappointed in the show. She seemed very distracted and kept looking at her watch. She first looked after she'd only been on stage for about ten minutes. She checked her watch about five times in one hour. Referred to notes quite a bit and just seemed to really not have any vision of where her jokes were headed.
This was a wonderful event Joy was delightful and doing a wonderful job On her own doing stand up!!!
Disappointing Joy seemed forgetful, constantly referring to her notes. Heard many jokes on the View-needs new material. I was so looking foreward to her show but it did not live up to expectations.
Seeing Behar at the Sands was lame. You expected to get what you paid for but instead you are sitting on folding chairs, Behar spends half her time complaining it is tooooooo hot and she keeps forgetting what she is supposed to be saying and continues to use note cards ---- never again --- what a disappointment.
One hour show but ran out of material 40 minutes into it...Also she had to keep going back to her notes to see what was the next topic..terrible Xmas gift to my sister!!! Sorry.. Buddy should have been main act!
Love Joy, but her new act needs some refining. She was a bit rambling, so there was no real flow or integration of her bits. Lots of " where was I?", " what do I talk about now?, and looking at her notes. Some moments of hilarity for sure, especially when she 's giving her unvarnished opinion of famous people. Not much in the way of new material though. The first act comedian was better. Sorry I don't remember his name, but he delivered a steady stream of laughs.
I feel that she should keep her political opinions to herself! If she is going to put politics into her act she should balance it so that both parties get equal attention and not just a strong anti conservative leaning. I do know I will NOT be attending any more of her events! Her opening act was funnier than she was. I could have listened to him the whole show.,
I enjoyed every minute of Joy Behar's comedy. She has the best sense of humor and she incorporates every day life with her comedic self.
Joy Behar was hilarious. We laughed so hard, we cried. I'm a big fan of her on the View and had seen her in Atlantic City. The intimate setting of the Melody Tent gave us a chance to see and hear her up close. Every part of her performance was funny. She's also smart, very friendly and seems to enjoy herself during her time on stage. I certainly would see her again at the Melody Tent and already have two more friends who want to come with me. Please book her again for next Summer. She was fantastic. We love you, Joy! Thanks to all at the Melody Tent for a wonderful evening.
It was the most amazing event. Joy was the funniest comedian I've seen in a long time. The show was entertaining, hilarious and I would recommend anyone to see her. She covered almost every subject of interest, while making it personal to her also. I think women enjoyed it more than men, she ranked more on men. Great show!!
Joy Behar was funnier and edgier than I could have ever imagined. Having seen her only on the View, I expected her to be as tame as t.v. requires. But Joy was over the top hilarious. Also, because of the View, I thought it would be all middle aged women in the audience, but I saw plenty of men and women of all ages and even some teenagers! You just have to love this woman. She is honest, real, down to earth. And you know what? She is actually beautiful! You can't tell on t.v., but in person, she was really gorgeous (not that that has anything to do with her show). I felt I got my money's worth and more. I definitely recommend seeing her if you have the opportunity.
Joy Behar was an absolute joy! At one point I was laughing so hard that I was crying. The Wilbur theater needs an elevator for the elderly to get up to the mezzanine sections.
If you want to spend a couple of hours laughing your *** off, then go see Joy Behar. As funny as she is on the View, she's even funnier in person. Her hilarious views of current events were spot on. She even took questions from the audience and talked about her family which we can all relate to. She even attempted to have a member of the audience adopt a dog from a local shelter which shows what a kind and generous person she is. The Wilbur Theater was a little cramped and I was stuck behind a huge heater/fan which wasn't too comfortable but once Joy got going, I forgot about it. I realize the theater is in the process of renovations so I really can't complain. If you're in need of a good evening out, please go see Joy Behar, you will forget your problems for a while....also wear Depends because you're laughing so hard you might have an accident:)
Funny and somewhat outspoken, but mostly standard getting-older/men&women/some political humor. Carlin/Poundstone she wasn't. Maybe she was modulating herself for the summer suburbanite crowd.
