Joshua Bell is a long time favorite of mine, and this concert was extraordinary. I was deeply moved to tears.
A great auditorium, with an excellent assortment of musical events. The Joshua Bell Trio was no exception.
I love Joshua Bell. The passion he displays when playing is so evident it’s infectious. I’ve only seen him perform with full orchestras. This was a once in a lifetime experience I will savor for the rest of my life. I’ve never heard of the pianist or cellist but they were astounding. The Ravel piece isn’t my favorite but I would have paid twice as much just to hear the Mendelssohn and the Shoshtakovich were so well played and are such beautiful pieces I nearly wept. I look forward to the next time I have the opportunity to see any of these musicians again. I can’t speak highly enough the musicians or the program. I had a fantastic 51st birthday!
Fantastic chamber music, best in US, universe-class. Great choice of pieces, perfect execution. House is friendly and well-run.
The program was great, very interesting selection of trios. The performance was outstanding!
It is wonderful that we can bring an artist like Joshua Bell here to Tucson. The performance was amazing!
it was wonderful and the pieces selected really showed off his talent.
Having loved and admired the talent and music of Joshua Bell for sometime, I was thrilled to have the opportunity of seeing him in concert. He was just as amazing as I knew he would be. Wonderful choice of selections plus encores. He appears to be very amiable and down to earth speaking easily to he audience. I loved every minute of the concert and hope he will be on your docket again very soon.
Joshua was everything and more. It was such a joy to see a professional play a variety of music without so much of a hiccup. I've known of him for years and to be honored by being the music director of the Academy of St. Martin in the Fields Orchestra must be the greatest accomplishment he could achieve. When he finally spoke, it was like he was an old friend and gave insights to great composers and music of the greats. Thank you for the opportunity of finally being able to see him at his best
It was amazing to watching him perform it was a special experience.
Joshua Bell was of course flawless, however, I found that the piano was often much to loud drowning out the subtleties of the violin. Mr. Bell is careful with his subtle pianissimos to fortes. Is there someone listening for balance before the performance? Also, for the period of Beethoven, do we really need a concert grand? We came to hear Joshua Bell mostly. For this reason, we would likely not come to this performance again.
Joshua played for nearly two hours in his solo performance along with pianist Sam Haywood. The page turner for Sam handled the pressure flawlessly.. a must see concert!
Awesome concert Loved every piece My 95 year old father was just thrilled
Joshua Bell is one of today's premier and probably best know violinists. His performance Thursday night verified his reputation. He and the Columbus Symphony were both outstanding. I'm glad we had an opportunity to attend the nearly sold out house.
Joshua Bell was energetic, phenomenal, and synced with the conductor and orchestra! I cannot overstate just how wonderful he was. So blessed to have seen and heard him play. His violin sang! (300 yr old Stradivarius)
I was so excited that Joshua Bell was gojng to be preforming! I feel I spent a good amount on okay seat just to see him preform. And he did excellent for the first half! And then he didn’t preform in the second half. So I feel I paid for a full show and only got part of the show. It was very disappointing.
I've had this on my calendar for a couple months anticipating a fabulous night. The Symphony fulfilled that, but unfortunately the star didn't. He only played around a half hour at best in the first session, then went out to sell and sign dozens maybe hundreds of CD's and did not return in the second half, took more time selling/signing than on stage.... VERY DISAPPOINTING.
Joshua Bell lived up to his reputation, and the total symphony played absolutely flawlessly and beautifully! I was happy seeing the Conductor beaming because he was also pleased. You could tell that everyone just nailed the performance.
Thank you Joshua Bell and your orchestra for your magnificent uplifting performance! We appreciate very much the role of NJPAC in this event and many others too!
