About

Country bass crooner Josh Turner has one of the most recognizable – and deepest – voices in country music. With his fifth album, 2012’s Punching Bag, Turner added yet another entry to a string of chart-topping albums, achieving one of his biggest hits to date with single “Time Is Love.” As a child, Turner honed his unique voice singing bass in church choir quartets before heading to Nashville to pursue his passion – country music. His platinum-certified 2003 debut Long Black Train was an instant hit, rising to No. 3 on the country charts on the strength of its title track and lead single. Sophomore album Your Man would peak at No. 1 on the Country Albums chart, followed by 2007’s Everything is Fine and 2010’s Haywire, the latter featuring No. 1 hits “Why Don’t We Just Dance” and “All Over Me.” Turner is known for putting on one of the most entertaining live concerts in country music, building anticipation among ticket buyers for his upcoming 2014 tour.

    Josh Turner was awesome

by Parster on 8/17/09Illinois State Fairgrounds Il State Fair - Springfield

It was a country music evening filled with very the delightful example of what country music is today. Chuck Wicks opened with his youth appealing renditions and exuberance..Jamey Johnson was will be one of those performers who in a few years, I will be able to say.. I saw him when he first started and now he is one of the top country stars of today. What a rich, mellow voice and to think that most of the songs were written by him.....He reminded me so much of .Willie Nelson. Yes, it was a great evening of country music....very enjoyable.

    JOSH TURNER WAS UNFORGETTABLE

    by es512009 on 7/30/09Wildhorse Saloon - Nashville

Josh Turner is a true country class act. From everything of starting out strumming his guitar with John Anderson to opening a real live concert at the Wildhorse. This made for an unforgettable night and was more than worth the money spent, and gave much more respect to Josh Turner and his band. It was amazing.

    Fantastic!

by Clarksville on 7/27/09Wildhorse Saloon - Nashville

Started with Josh and 3 singer/song-writer buddies, including John Anderson, playing new and old accoustic tunes. Then a surprise award and lifetime membership presented to Josh Turner by a songwriter's association. Segway into the concert, which was amazing. He is very talented and a joy to listen to. Go see Josh Turner live!

Josh Turner reinforces my belief in the young.

by cdmac on 7/25/09Wildhorse Saloon - Nashville

Saw Josh in Nashvile in Wild Horse Saloon. My husband and I were amazed at Josh Turner character and strength. We knew he could sing but were thrilled with his choice of songs. So many are afraid to voice their belief in God. He really enjoys himself and it is contagious. Just wish he played she'll go on.( My favorite song) My son just had a daughter July 13th Kind of hits home. Hope he comes to Philadelphia so we can take our family.

Turner's monumental talent starts NSAI Series

by sitoj on 7/25/09Wildhorse Saloon - Nashville

Josh Turner's 'genius' as a singer/songwriter is not easy to forget especially after the wednesday show to kick off the start of NSAI. His inimitable vocal style is so easy to enjoy, you just think, wow, he's wonderful. If anything, his brilliant July 22 show at the Wildhorse Saloon 'It All Begins With A Song' performance series shows his monumental talent for which he was awarded a lifetime membership with NSAI. After speaking about the songwriting process, his generous over 60 minute set touched on all the crowd pleasers. Once the red velvet curtain opened, Josh joined his great band, poised center stage singing his soaring hit 'Firecracker'. His glorious voice delivered all our favorites. The sold out event with capacity crowd was just plain folks, transfixed through much of the show until his signature anthem-like 'Long Black Train' sing-along. He carried the evening with the aplomb of a true pro taking us all to a place of musical joy and yes we were there as Josh proved he's a giant.

    An evening to remember!

    by Wstrngirl7 on 7/24/09Wildhorse Saloon - Nashville

Oh my gosh! This concert was absolutely AMAZING! My husband and I traveled from IL for this and were definitely not disappointed. We had the absolute BEST seats in the house! Direct center stage, first table...Josh was never more than about ten feet away from us at any given point (if that). The opening acoustic part of the show was really neat. Loved it when John Anderson joined Josh to sing the hit "Swingin". When Josh was interrupted mid-song and awarded with a plaque, the show burst into high gear with what started as the concert-version of "Firecracker". Great show! Also got to meet Josh during the meet and greet that occurred just prior to the beginning of the show. Got an autograph from him and had our picture taken too! Can't wait until we get to see him somewhere again! =)

Josh Turner made the night memorable!

by newcowgirl on 7/23/09Wildhorse Saloon - Nashville

Wow, when you combine that smooth, deep voice with a passion for great songwriting, it really makes for a great show! I admit I'm new to country music, but am quite proud that Josh Turner was my first country concert. What a great show! Josh stuck to his roots and let his beliefs shine through, all awhile keeping the crowd moving with a great band to back up his #1 hits. Three great surprise guests added to the already talented display of artistry Josh himself displayed. The venue at Wildhorse is always wonderful, with people from all over the country catching Josh's performance. On top of a great respected artist and songwriter, I appreciate the fact that Josh supported NSAI through this benefit concert and he remains open to mentoring other songwriters.

    Josh Turner was awesome!

    by countrymusiclover92 on 7/23/09Wildhorse Saloon - Nashville

The benefit concert for the NSAI in Nashville at the Wildhorse Saloon was awesome. Josh opened with John Anderson and two other song writers. He then moved into his concert portion with his band and sang lots of his big hits. My favorites were "Long Black Train," "So Not My Baby," and "Would You Go With Me." I got to stand up on the side of the floor and he came pretty close a few times, which was cool. I knew all the songs too and I liked when he introduced the band. His fill-in keyboard player was from Ohio like me, so that lead to a Buckeye joke. It was a good length too- he got a lot of songs in but it wasn't too short or too long.
