Josh was amazing -- as always. So much energy and so many great songs.
First time I have seen Josh Ritter in concert and will not be my last. He performed an incredible array of his multiple albums. Did this great mix of just him on the guitar and parts of the band and the whole band. While he didnt talk much in between songs, it was just so clear how much joy performing brings him. It was infectious! In my top 5 favorite concerts ever, and I have been to a lot of concerts in my 60+ years. Brought people with me who had never heard him and they left new fans. Loved the way he incorporated Sarah Harmer, his opening act, into the performance. Just overall a great concert!
This is honestly the best show I've ever been to. This is my first time seeing Josh live and the joy, exuberance, and energy he brought to the show was infectious. I've never seen anything like it. Highly recommended.
Josh Ritter and his band play amazing songs about Westerns, trains, love and heartbreak. I don't know if there is a better stage performer than Josh Ritter as far as Americana/folk singers go. Even in his mid-40's, he's got the enthusiasm (and energy) of a teenager, but the soul and voice of a real troubadour, rustic and historic in his songwriting abilities and crooner voice. He played many songs from his new album, as well as many of his older songs that are more well known. His beloved Royal City Band adds an additional layer to his music that enhances the depth beyond what was already there.
Josh Ritter is a great lyricist and it was hard to hear his sung words in the center seats at House Of Blues. That’s all. Great show but HOB not the best for sound
I was unfamiliar with Josh Ritter until my partner bought us tickets to this concert, and it was one of the best times I've had recently at a live performance. The band and Josh himself were personable and clearly love what they do. There were allusions made to how much they missed live performance during pandemic lockdowns, and it was apparent just how much they missed a live audience. The music was affecting, well-written, and sincere. I now find myself listening to Josh's music while driving or on a train. If you have a chance to see this band I highly recommend it! I was very familiar with the House of Blues from other events and it remains an ideal venue for a medium-sized show such as this one. The drinks are reasonably priced for the area, parking was easier than expected, and the crowd were clearly enjoying themselves. Recommend HoB for any Boston area shows as well!
As always Josh and his band played their hearts out!! Such a wonderful show!
Excellent set and good sound. Band very cohesive and Josh has great time performing.
Once again, Josh Ritter put on an outstanding show in Kansas City at the Madrid Theater. He deftly mixed songs from early albums with his newer material. Royal City was strong as was Josh's voice. He has quite a selection of music to choose from and he covered a lot of great tunes in his two hour set. Thank you for an outstanding night, Josh.
We have seen Josh in places ranging from the Record Exchange to the Fillmore. His infectious love of his followers is heartfelt as he even sent signed notes and albums to our daughter after a terrible auto accident a couple years ago. As an Idahoan I was so proud to mingle with folks from across the country loving “our” Josh at the Fox last week. Suggestion: Kathleen and Hello Starling for encore please. Be well.
Great show. Guy is very talented and fun. I went hoping to hear 3 or 4 particular songs and didn't hear one of them and still enjoyed the show immensely. Also..The Royal City Band is tight and rocking.
I’m gonna be real, I went for the opener. And they did not disappoint. Their voices are incredible and they are hilarious! I’m going to a show in their headlining tour soon. Josh Ritter was also great. Holy cow does that man have a lot of energy. And his fans really like to party. Some serious dancing in the aisles happening. Overall, a great evening focused on good music and good vibes.
Josh Ritter is ALWAYS a five star performance. And Penny and Sparrow were truly an unexpected delight! 11/10 would see again!
Good parking options beautiful venue JOSH RITTER never disappoints ❤ Penny & Sparrow also gained 2 new fans!
Great evening. Enjoyed the main act and the opening band.
Despite living in Nashville for ages I hadn't ever been to a show at the Ryman before. Bottom line is that this may be the best venue I've ever seen a show in. I bought the tickets to see Mandolin Orange. I have loved them since the first time I heard their music. They did not disappoint!! It is rare that live exceeds expectations developed from a recording. Not so Mandolin Orange. Two artists and acoustic performance with the same sweet harmonies and warmth I'd listened to ... If you have the opportunity to see this pair perform take it!! The headliner was Josh Ritter. Honestly, I had never heard of him before and was prepared to leave if he was lame after seeing Mandolin Orange. I wasn't sure about him after the first couple of songs. But my patience was rewarded as the rest of the show was phenomenal! I have another artist for my Spotify! The music was simple and incredibly synced between multiple players and provided the perfect framework for Ritter's lyrics ... I ended up as pleased with Ritter as I was with Mandolin Orange! Definitely see this artist!! Best show I've seen in ages!!
Both Mandolin Orange and Josh Ritter were amazing musicians and the acoustics were the best we've ever heard. The main floor has very poor visual appeal with pillars restricting line of sight. My next trip with the Ryman will be in the balcony not on the main floor but the show was excellent and memorable.
Josh Ritter is the only performer we never miss when he comes to town. It is always a joy to see him. This show was probably the best I’ve ever seen him put on ...we were moved by this proformance!
Been waiting to catch Josh live since hearing him on TV show- Parenthood I think. Well worth the wait.
Josh Ritter is the best singer/songwriter of his generation. He puts on incredible show.
