About

One of the most enduring shows of all time, JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT is the irresistible family musical about the trials and triumphs of Joseph, Israel's favorite son. The first collaboration of Andrew Lloyd Webber (Jesus Christ Superstar, Phantom of the Opera, Cats) and Tim Rice (Jesus Christ Superstar, The Lion King), JOSEPH blends pop, country and rock into an uplifting, technicolored story of biblical proportions. Retelling the Biblical story of Joseph, his eleven brothers and the coat of many colors, this magical musical is full of unforgettable songs including Those Canaan Days, Any Dream Will Do and Close Every Door. Broadway and television star Diana DeGarmo and Broadway star Ace Young will head up the cast of the new touring production of JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT.

We have seen Joseph many times over the years. This was one of our favorite performances!! There were just enough "added" extras to keep even the most dedicated Joseph fan amazed. We loved the brothers song along the dinner table, a really enthusiastic number that was very well done. Overall, an extremely enjoyable night out! Would definitely see it again if given the opportunity!! Ace, as Joseph was amazing, quite nice on the ladies eyes too :)

    Why these leads?

by CompassionMama on 3/22/14Cadillac Palace - Chicago

I was so looking forward to seeing Joseph downtown through Broadway In Chicago. Unfortunately, this production was quite disappointing. Diana DeGarmo as the Narrator was okay - but her voice was poppy rather than strong as I would expect from this role. But her husband Ace Young as Joseph was passionless and flat. He couldn't act and sometimes acted like he couldn't sing. I've seen teenage boys render Close Every Door with enough passion to bring me to tears, but when Ace sang it I found myself thinking about the laundry. Why this pair as leads? No clue. On the upside, the brothers were AMAZING. Paul Castree as Simeon held the audience in the palm of his hand during Canaan Days, and I could listen to Will Mann (as Judah) sing all day long.

    Amazing show!

    by Tracy0813 on 3/22/14Cadillac Palace - Chicago

"Joseph" is my favorite stage show & I've seen it many times. This version was very impressive - the costumes were gorgeous, the music was awesome and the supporting cast was stellar! I wasn't crazy about the leads though. Narrator was good theatrically, but her voice was a little cartoonish for the part, not the deep, rich voice I would have liked. Joseph wasn't as good an actor and also had a few vocal problems. My biggest disappointment though was Pharoah. I neither saw nor heard Elvis from him. Those 3 aside, the supporting cast was amazing, especially the brother that sang "Canaan Days". That whole song was the highlight of the show for me. The dance routine with the metal dishes was perfect & a great touch that I hadn't seen before. The set looked good, but was moved around a lot and that was distracting. All in all, it is a really good show that I would recommend to anyone that enjoys musical theatre. It was a very entertaining night!!

    Always fun!

We loved this version of Joseph! The kids saw it when they were little. Now they're bigger, and still love it. It was a great night downtown, dinner at Maggiano's and Joseph! The music is infectious. Such a fun enegetic show, with a great underlying story and just the right amount of humor.

The cast was fantastic and energetic. I really enjoyed that some of the gestures and lyrics were relevant to today even though the story takes place many years ago. It was great to see the cast members really get into their roles and make them standout and memorable.

Great way to spend an evening!

by KRBang on 3/21/14Cadillac Palace - Chicago

We never pictured Joseph and his brothers wearing high-top Converse, but nor did we expect such an upbeat frolic! This musical is fun and appropriate for the whole family, and the tunes will stick in your head and on your lips for days. We couldn't stop smiling! For the Bible-knowledgeable, understand that this is mostly accurate, but don't expect perfect. Do expect a clean, humorous, entertaining show with laugh-out-loud moments and nonstop dancing. We were blown away by the talent.
