  • Jorma Kaukonen & Dave Bromberg - Outstanding

by Motorcityrocks on 1/20/10The Ark - Ann ArborRating: 5 out of 5

Did not know what to expect with this show, but have been a Jefferson Airplane fan for ions. I was aware that Jorma had gone more towards traditional blues music and picking. Took my nephew along who is 22 years younger. Needless to say, I was afraid he might not like the show, since I didn't know what to expect. What an amazing performance !!!! You can tell when individuals truly like working with each other on stage, because it came through in their stage presence. That fact was clear and Jorma, Dave and Barry were exceptionally great musicians. If you like amplified acoustic blues - then you will love every moment of their show as much as I did ! My nephew loved the show too and bought the CD!!!

  • Bromberg and Kaukonen

by MartinM on 1/20/10New Hazlett Theater - PittsburghRating: 5 out of 5

Two of the finest, most talented and tasteful players ever, together and solo, this show has something for everyone who likes fingerstyle acoustic guitar and encyclopedic knowledge of folk and blues. David Bromberg's return from a long hiatus is very welcome, and together with Jorma Kaukonen, these two really bring out the best in each other, but they also each get a chance to hold the stage alone. Magic. Barry Mitterhoff fit right in when David and Jorma doubled up. The New Hazlett Theater in Pittsburgh is a very nice venue.

  • Three Masters exhibiting their craft!

For myself, this was one, if not the best show I have ever seen. These men enjoy playing with one another and it comes across in the show. Just an amazing performance by all three. I don't know if that come happen every night, but last night they really were in sync. The venue was great also. Nice small theatre for an acoustic show like this. It works well for shows of this nature.

I first saw Bromberg some thirty-nine years ago and have always been in love with his work. The chemistry between Jorma Kaukonen and him is incredible and the sold-out house here in Pittsburgh were in awe.

  • Kaukonen & Bromberg at their finest!

by Claydog on 1/20/10New Hazlett Theater - PittsburghRating: 5 out of 5

Great combination of acoustic guitarists. The mandolin player was a great compliment. You've got to love Brombers's style. His ability to vocally entertain the crowd while simultaneously playin an exceptional guitar is unmatched. Jorma's jammin was amazzing. They both played some nice rifts. Great to hear them playin songs off of "Burgers". The Hazlett Theater was a great surprise. Good acoutics and view. I would highly recommend this venue.

  • Great show - uncomfortable venue

    by burghgal1 on 1/20/10New Hazlett Theater - PittsburghRating: 5 out of 5

the show was phenomenal. Bromberg and Kaukonen have great synergy and energy.. Loved the show. Only complaint is the seats in the theater are the most cramped and uncomfortable I've ever sat on. Folding chairs would be more comfortable. The theater is very new, modern and a nice space, especially for music.

  • Great Show

They play so well and complement eaxh other. I would recommend anyone who has a chance to see they should go. Even though I am tired today at work, well worth it.

  • Bromberg & Jorma a rare treat!

by Malbroker on 1/19/10The Ark - Ann ArborRating: 4 out of 5

Two Legends together showing why they are held in such high regard by other musicians. You could see every show they do together and probably not see the same song played more then twice.
