  • Lack of Respect!!

by NotHappyAtAll on 10/9/24The Axis Club (formerly known as The Mod Club) - TorontoRating: 2 out of 5

Terrible organization, i won’t attend any concert organized by this team. Completely lack of respect to the public!! They provided no explanation for the show being delayed by nearly three hours.

  • Worst show I’ve seen in a awhile

Don’t let the lies and misinformation you hear about this show from certain people of the Brazilian community fool you, it was a complete disaster from the start. Doors were to open at 6pm (they started letting us in around 8pm), then came the preshow at 9pm, then an intermission that lasted 45mins, people started to riot and yell, complete lack of respect for the audience, finally Jorge shows up to appease the crowds but no apologies given for showing up late, the sound could have been better, lots of static, the samba musicians we’re 2nd rate at best and would mess up the samba groove every now and then. Would not recommend nor attend again.

  • It was supposed to be a pleasant nitght, but..

by Sam on 10/9/24The Axis Club (formerly known as The Mod Club) - TorontoRating: 1 out of 5

While I understand that some things are out of control, this highly anticipated event wasn't what it could've been. On top of scheduling the event on a Sunday evening, it took forever to the artist to show up and sing. The show that was expected to start by 7:30pm, started only close to 10pm when people were already leaving because it's a Sunday night. Not just that, but the band was definitely not in sync with the artist. He had to pause the show like three times to talk to someone at the band and even called out one of the musicians straight up in front of everyone. Moreover, the instruments were so loud that no one could hear the artist's voice. I heard people asking "which song is that"a few times because they couldn't connect the sound with the lyrics. In the end, I spent $150 and expected a pleasant experience as this is a very consagrated singer, but ended up watching to the artist trying to make up for situation and left the show before the end with a heavy headache due to the noise. As suggestion, I'd advise to either bring the artist with his own band or don't bring him at all.

  • Bad sound, artist went on at 1:00AM

by zzzzzzzzzzaaaaaa on 8/31/11Revolution Live - Ft LauderdaleRating: 2 out of 5

Blaring reggaeton from 8:30PM till 1:00AM. NO seating. Poor sound, frustrated artist. Venue was awful.

  • bad...

by lunnardi on 8/29/11Revolution Live - Ft LauderdaleRating: 2 out of 5

Jorge came wearing a hat and sunglasses... at night??? I expect just the popular bandana!! The acoustics of the place is awful, i barely understood the lyrics, even when he's just talking!!! Jorge don't sing a lot of my favorites, among then Ave Maria, and don't play any instrument, just sing. A good thing is that the concert last a good two and some hours (although began at 1AM!!), and i can get close to the stage so we can dance and take some good pics!!

  • Jorge Aragao USA Tour 2011

by serendipitousmoments on 8/29/11Revolution Live - Ft LauderdaleRating: 4 out of 5

Great artist, just a shame he had to perform in such a below average place. The sound wasn't very good and the concert began 2 1/2 hours later than scheduled. He didn't appear on stage until 1am when I was so tired and sleepy that I only watched his first 3 songs. What a shame an artist of this caliber to have to perform in a place designed more for clubbing and dancing instead of listening to the world's best samba performer in comfortable chairs.

  • It could have been much better

by fjmiami on 8/29/11Revolution Live - Ft LauderdaleRating: 2 out of 5

First of all, the main show began almost an hour later than expected. But I think the worst point was the sound quality - it became evident that the artists were not happy with it, despite the fact they really tried to do their best. Jorge Aragao is an excellent artist, but I guess the venue was not able to provide him reasonable conditions for his performance...

  • Jorge Aragao

by LuaDear on 8/29/11Revolution Live - Ft LauderdaleRating: 5 out of 5

Jorge Aragao is a MUST SEE, if you are a fan of old school Brazilian Samba. He's a class act and although the venue had terrible acoustic, he performed incredibly. I'd see him again over and over. He even invited us backstage after the show!!

Jorge Aragao was incredible!! He played for over 2 hours and seemed to be in heaven himself, as much as all of us attending his show. His Ave Maria brought me to tears!! At the end of the show he was humbled to tears by the applause and the experience of playing on Broadway...I was so glad I was there. Definitely one of the best concerts I have ever had to opportunity to attend.
