JOHNNYSWIM IN CONCERT:
For nearly a decade, Nashville-based folk and blues duo Johnnyswim has been captivating concertgoers with their bluegrass-influenced guitar strumming, soulful harmonica riffs, and pitch-perfect harmonies. At their live shows the pair deliver their boot-stomping tracks with plenty of energy and starry-eyed wonder, making for a feel-good concert experience that's sure to please. From the driving beat of "Home" to the soaring vocal interplay of "Diamonds", Johnnyswim treats fans to a vibrant and dynamic live show that perfectly matches the exuberance of their stirring sound.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Johnnyswim was formed in Nashville in 2005 by singer Amanda Sudano and singer-songwriter Abner Ramirez. Sudano boasts a first-rate musical pedigree -- the daughter of disco icon Donna Summer, she grew up touring the world with her mother as a backup singer. She began working with Ramirez after attending a songwriter seminar he hosted in 2005, and the rest is history. They released their self-titled debut EP in 2008, and in 2009 they got married. Following a tour in India that benefitted orphan children, Johnnyswim released the 2012 EP Home, Vol. 1, which they supported with appearances on The Tonight Show and the radio variety program A Prairie Home Companion. In 2014 Johnnyswim released their debut full-length Diamonds, a stellar collection of tunes that has fans eager to catch them on their upcoming tour dates.
Johnnyswim wins my heart over and over and over . . . . they are brilliant musicians, they are physically gorgeous, they are goofballs and so so so much fun!!!!!!!!! They captivate, they seduce, they love what they do, each other and their audience! I would see them EVERY chance I had! Terrific audience also!
what more is there to say? if you have the opportunity to see them live, i highly recommend doing so. even better if it is an intimate space, as i'm sure soon enough they will be playing to much larger houses. there's a harmony and chemistry that can't be beat. if you don't walk in loving Abner and Amanda, you will certainly leave cheering their praises.
First heard them on "Live From Daryl's House" a few of months ago and had been watching for them to perform in the NYC area. You could just feel the raw emotion and heart felt drive that they put into every song. Totally AWESOME show in a small venue with "NO" opening act. PRICELESS!!!!!!

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Abner & Amanda - they are amazing singers! And they are so damn cute with each other (but not sickeningly so, LOL). Can't wait to see them again!

This is the second time seeing them in a short period of time & they do not disappoint! Maybe it is the fact that they are married, but the way they interact & tell stories really adds to their show! I just LOVE how they harmonize & ricochet back and forth with songs they have written together. I really enjoy when an artist explains why they wrote the song. I have a whole new appreciation for the songs Diamonds!

Johnnyswim was ahhhhmazing to watch live! The duo is amazingly in tune with eachother as they sing with every fiber of their being from the bottom of their hearts! Amanda's voice is like an angel and strengthened by her partners guitar skills and heartfelt vocals.
The music is uplifting, romantic and full of good energy!! The chemistry between Abner and Amanda (who is a striking beauty!!) is undeniable and spilled over into the audience. Song highlights for me were take the world, Dont let it get you down, live while were young.
Had just read and sampled them recently and shortly after found they were coming to Jax, so decided to go. I am bitten and a definite fan. Such beautiful, powerful and touching voices and lyrics. They perform with such joy and feeling. I can't wait to see them perform live again, but they are going to get popular now that the first LP is out. Real deal here and no comparisons would fit.
Love, love, love them!!! Their sound comes from their soul and you can feel it!! Their chemistry together is super obvious and great to see. I wish I could see them more often! The venue was standing room only which was a bit tough on my back, but that was really the only draw back. Can't wait to see them again when they come back this way! If you haven't exerienced them, you really don't know what you're missing. :)
One of the best live shows I've seen in my entire life. Their chemistry, their lyrics, their harmonies, their passion and their love for what they do is displayed in a way I haven't seen before. You don't just hear their music. It pierces you and penetrates areas of your heart that you didn't know were missing what the music left behind in there. One word- EPIC.
I felt so privileged to hear Johnnyswim in such an intimate venue, because without a doubt, they will soon fill stadiums! Mind blowing talent, charisma and stage presence.
When I bought the tickets, I listened to Johnnyswim samples online and lived them. I am 64 and came expecting enjoyable light music with stories. We found that in the group Johnnyswim, but were litterally blown out of the room by the opening act. The volume was WAY too high. When you attract such a diversely aged crowd that should be taken into consideration. I understand the crowd was 3/4 young but that was awful. And I must admit I didn't see the part about standing and my date has bad knees and we had to leave after the first half hour of Johnnyswim...whom we enjoyed thouroughly for that short time.
We love Johnnyswim!!! Abner & Amanda are incredibly talented and genuinely good people. Loved the show - amazing voices!!
