John Waite is the REAL DEAL!!!
by GoddessLove1111 on 3/31/13The Canyon - Agoura HillsRating: 5 out of 5I have only seen John Waite in concert once, and although I have admired his music since the 70's and 80's (think Bad English and Babys, in addition to his solo work), I had never really seen him play until last Fall. When the opportunity came to see him at the Canyon Club I jumped at the chance. John's show was EVERYTHING and MORE that I hoped it would be. The rocking guitars of Shaun Hague on All Along the Watchtower was just the beginning to an Amazing and Wonderful night! Rondo's drum solo was beyond compare, along with the rockin thumpin bass of Tim Hogan, Debby Holiday's backing vocals on Everytime I Think of You (as well as all the other songs) were Awesome, and peppered throughout the night were songs ranging from ballads to the heaviest rock. The absolute HIGH Point of the night was John's ACAPELLA (yes acapella, meaning NO MUSICAL ACCOMPANIMENT at ALL) version of When I See You Smile. WOW!!!! John's vocals were Stellar, on point and beyond Amazing! He proved in that second what a REAL singer/musician lives, which is MUSIC ITSELF!! 90% of the 'musicians' today could NEVER even ATTEMPT singing without auto-tune, much less acapella in a concert setting. John Waite is the REAL DEAL!!! Music at it's finest! If you have the chance to catch him live, do yourself a favor and DO IT!! You will be glad you did!
