About

John Pinette has been entertaining audiences around the world in a variety of ways for over twenty years, but it is making people laugh that John enjoys most of all. When asked to describe his stand-up, John Pinette says, "I talk about my life, it is the funniest thing I can think of. For some reason, people enjoy seeing me lose by cherub like demeanor".  John was named Stand-Up Comedian of the Year by the American Comedy Awards in 1999 and received a Gemini Award nomination for his superb televised performance at The Montreal Comedy Festival in 2000. His hit Comedy Central Special and DVD entitled "I'm Starvin'" was released in January of 2007 as a follow up to his enormously successful CD ‘Show Me The Buffet'.

Born just outside of Boston, Massachusetts, John has always had a gift for making people laugh. When he learned that he could actually make a living doing so, John left behind his life as an accountant and began his comedy career.  It wasn't long before he was touring comedy clubs around the country. Shortly thereafter, John got his big break when he was asked to tour with Frank Sinatra.  Since then he has made multiple guest stand-up comedy appearances on television shows such as The Tonight Show, The Dr. Phil Show, and The View.

John has also enjoyed a long acting career in television, film, and stage. He starred on Broadway playing the role of ‘Edna Turnblad' in the hit musical ‘Hairspray' and has appeared in such films as Duets, starring Gwenyth Paltrow, Dear God, starring Greg Kinnear, Junior, starring Arnold Schwarzeneger and The Punisher starring John Travolta. He was a series regular on the hit series Parker Lewis Can't Lose, and starred as the car-jack victim in the final episode of Seinfeld.  John is currently filming The Last Godfather starring opposite Harvey Keitel.

    The Big Guy was Hilarious!

by PinetteFan on 5/23/11Blue Chip Casino - Michigan City

I have been a John Pinette fan for years, and when the opportunity presented itself to see him live and in person I rounded up my wife and three other couples for a night out full of laughs - and laugh we did! John was very funny. He had me in tears laughing so hard. He is a true comedic genius! His show was fresh and entertaining. In fact, his show was so good that it went by too fast. It was an hour and twenty minutes long. I would have liked to have had him perform longer, but I enjoyed the time he did perform. I would have liked it if he had thrown in some of his old skits from previous performances just to hear some of them again. After the show was over John came out to mingle with the crowd. He allowed people to shake his hand, have their pictures taken with him and sign autographs. All in all it was a very nice evening. I highly recommend him!

    John Pinette was great

by motkroy on 5/23/11Blue Chip Casino - Michigan City

As usual Penette did a great job. The draw backs were the poor visibilty due to the seating, late arrivals, and the idiots who insist on using cameras. The time wasted by Pinette on these fools threw off his timing and story line somewhat. Would I drive 4 1/2 hours again to see him? Yeah, I probably would if it was a better venue to watch him.

    Comedian Pinette

by JK50 on 5/23/11Blue Chip Casino - Michigan City

John is a very funny guy and he had some really funny stories. I really enjoyed his comments about going to purchase something and he wasn't looking for any trouble. How true and accurate he was talking about his experience with current retail customer service and how annoying that process can now be in our current environment. I wish the show lasted a little longer and did not particularly care the venue. Having it in a ballroom setting was not conducive to that type of entertainment. I hope he comes back to the area and preforms at the Star Plaza Theatre in Merrillville instead of at Blue Chip Casino.

    Pinette was in fine fettle!

by MomaDeb8r on 5/23/11Blue Chip Casino - Michigan City

John Pinette was in great form at the Blue Chip Casino on Saturday, May 21. He started promptly on time with his signature loud, raucous voice blasting through the sound system. New material mixed with a sprinkling of well-loved phrases made for an extremely entertaining evening. After harassing a person with a video camera, he then graciously posed for several photos for others, with a final comment to the illegal videographer.

    VERY FUNNY!

by playcho on 5/23/11Blue Chip Casino - Michigan City

John is a very funny man! If it had not been for the 2 distractions from the crowd, I would have given him a 5 star rating! However, the heckler and the person filming him, irritated him enough that he felt he had to address them. It hardly ever works to the comedians favor when they mix it up with hecklers/troublemakers. The seating was average to poor, but the comedy was great!

    John Pinette is AWESOME!!!

by PackerFanInIN on 5/23/11Blue Chip Casino - Michigan City

We had a wonderful time at Blue Chip Casino enjoying the riotous humor of John Pinette. He kept us in stitches the whole show during his classicly funny bits on hiking, buffets, and so many more, and amazing insight into his life as a comedian. Some jerk kept shining a red light during the show; not sure if it was a red-eye reducer from a camera, or someone attempting to shoot video (strictly forbidden) - hope the individual rots for interrupting the show and distracting John!!! We had fabulous seats, my best friend and I made up shirts of some of his catch lines, and probably embarrassed our spouses - but they enjoyed the show, too! Loved it, and appreciated getting to meet him for a brief moment after the show - such a gracious man! Thanks for keeping your humor clean!

    Funny Man

by purdycuckoo on 5/23/11Blue Chip Casino - Michigan City

Funny show, but short and better on u-tube,his bit about the food lines, and travel buffet was cut way to short and if one did'nt watch his stand-up on the web (u-tube) then it would be hard to understand the buttom punch line. John is a funny guy,and comes out to talk and sign for all the fans..

    Quality and Quantity Very Mediocre

by bsugrad on 5/23/11Blue Chip Casino - Michigan City

Drove 3 hours to see John Pinette and the show was a little over an hour long. Thought that the tickets were a little expensive for the amount of time that he was on stage. The comedy level was mediocre and wish I would have saved my time, money, and gas.

by Bluetinagirl11 on 5/23/11Blue Chip Casino - Michigan City

Just as in the past, I laughed so hard that I cried. Went through one whole tissue!!! New material was great. He also took time after and met with everyone that wanted to meet him and posed for pics too!! So glad I was able to see him, although my kids really wanted to go but they are not 21 yet. They are a fan of his from the Comedy Channel.

    JOHN PINETTE

by MING69 on 5/23/11Blue Chip Casino - Michigan City

One of the funniest laugh out loud shows that I have ever seen. Also one the most resonable prices around. 90 minutes of total laughter. I've seen many shows in Vegas but John topped them.

    John Funny As Ever

by Roxie6 on 5/23/11Blue Chip Casino - Michigan City

John had us all rocking with laughter. He delivered new material. He is a master of hysterically funny facial expressions also. The only downside was the seating arrangements -- chairs set up on a level banquet hall floor. It was difficult to see him and we all had to watch the big screens in order to get the full effect of the comedy.

John Pinette wows the crowd - Again!!

by rumbug on 5/23/11Blue Chip Casino - Michigan City

We have seen John perform 2 times now and he continues to go above and beyond your expectations. We were a little worried that it might be the same material as before, but there was lots of new stories/jokes that were hilarious. He is a true performer and can really connect with the audience. I am sure we will see him again if/when he comes back around the area. Definitely worth seeing!!!!

John was hilarious as I expected, a great comedian to watch. The room at the Blue Chip, however, was lacking. It's all level flooring with straight back table chairs to sit in that are interlinked. I had large people on either side of my wife and that overfilled their own seats, spilling into ours. We spent an hour and a half sitting in an uncomfortable angle because we could barely sit in the seats we paid for. I likely won't see another show at the Blue Chip again.

    John Pinette

by ValpoScott on 5/23/11Blue Chip Casino - Michigan City

John Pinette is halarious - the funniest comedian that no ones knows about. He deserves the fame and name recognition and soon it will come. As far as the venue at the Blue Chip, the ball room setting is not great, I would not want to be in the back (luckily we were in the third row) They need an audtorium if they hope to get big acts there
