John Oliver is an Emmy and Writer's Guild Award-winning writer, comedian, and host of the HBO show Last Week Tonight with John Oliver. On his occasional breaks from television, John returns to his first love of stand-up, performing to sold-out venues around the world.
From 2006-2013, he was a correspondent on the multi-award winning The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, guest-hosting the show for two months during Stewart's absence in 2013.
After co-hosting the weekly satirical podcast The Bugle with Andy Zaltzman until 2015 and starring in his first stand-up special John Oliver: Terrifying Times, John went on to host four seasons of his own stand-up series for Comedy Central, John Oliver's New York Stand-Up Show, which featured a handpicked selection of his favorite comedians.
Oliver voices the character Zazu in the 2019 Disney film The Lion King and will voice a character in the 2019 Paramount film Amusement Park, following previous guest roles including Danger Mouse, Community, The Smurfs, The Smurfs 2, Bob's Burgers, The Simpsons, The Detour, and Rick & Morty.
He was incredibly funny, as usual. I gave the tickets to my partner for Valentine’s Day and we were both beyond happy with his performance. I cannot recommend his show highly enough.

Drove 4 hours from central PA to see Oliver and Meyers, knowing full well of the impending snow storm and unsure of our ability to get out of the city at 11pm. The show was worth it, exceeding my very high expectations. Oliver was sensational onstage and off, when he greeted fans outside the theater post-show for selfies and autographs. And yes John, we made it home safely and thank you for a great evening!
My husband and I took our 3 young adult daughters to the show as part of their Christmas present. We have all been fans of John Oliver for years and he did not disappoint! He is so witty and his delivery is always spot on. We laughed the whole time. Would highly recommend!!!

John Oliver was on form, doing the kind of comedy I love. Came to see him and was not disappointed. Seth Meyers was OK. Not the funniest but also not the most relatable material for me. He's a great host though and was good during the Q&A, just don't think he's a strong standup. The opener was boring and tired, just very basic, overused jokes.
Dream duo! Very different styles of comedy but both equally funny. I love John and Seth! ❤️

Flew from Seattle to NYC for this show and it was 100% worth the TSA lines, bad airport coffee and temporarily lost luggage. Oliver is a great story teller, charming…and very, very funny!

Actually, I got the ticket because I'm a fan of Seth Meyers, and I saw this residency with John. And what an amazing surprise it was! I only knew John a little bit, so I didn't know how solid his stuff would be. It turned out to be great and left me wanting to see more in the future. Great show, both comedians aced this one!
these guys are pros and it shows. was surprised that there was no political humor, but they were still entertaining.
I went to see this show at the Beacon Theater as a birthday present. I do not think I have laughed so much than I did that evening. He was absolutely hilarious!
John and Seth spend the evening in a semi-autobiographical space that was both comforting and quite funny. Nothing cutting-edge but some real great laughs.

John Oliver is definitely one of my favorite comedians. I love how he finds unique topics and tells a great story. His story about running when he was young is still making me laugh when I think about it. This world needs more laughter and Oliver is definitely a great contributor to that cause.
John Oliver was everything I wanted to see... So Good!! I was surprised that he wasn't the main liner comic. But it worked out by him coming out Second. Ended up leaving at (:30 10 mins into Seth Myers performance.
