Mulaney has hosted Saturday Night Live six times. He was a writer for the show starting in 2008, where he created memorable characters such as 'Stefon' with Bill Hader and worked with hundreds of hosts on their monologues. • Love Mulaney's Mister Whatever

Staff were awesome. Sound, lighting and overall technology were great. John was on fire, as he normally is when delivering his comedy. Nearing the end, the 90 min. show started to feel long. I don't know how he keeps up his pace for so long and so perfectly.

John was hilarious. This was the second time seeing him live and he did not disappoint.

  • Baby J Got More Political

by SS on 10/6/25DPAC - Durham Performing Arts Center - DurhamRating: 4 out of 5

First and foremost, I did not dislike the show. I'd say for about 75-80% of the show, I was laughing myself silly at John's material. I had spent a lot of time searching what kind of content John does in during his set, and with everything that's going on in the world, I was excited to get some of that classic Mulaney-branded escapism, which he absolutely delivered. However, I will say that rather than alluding to politics like he has in the past with his great bits like "Horse in a Hospital", John goes all-in on some topics that people tend to think of as political, as well as harping on his hatred of individuals who are in the limelight due to their political affiliations. Even though most of the material was admittedly clever and aligned with my own personal beliefs, I couldn't stop myself from wishing he would go back to anecdotes about his own life or his usual subject matter because thinking about what was going on in the world outside of the building took me out of the performance quite a bit. Not everyone will have the same opinion as me, obviously, but I guess I wasn't expecting about 20% of the set to talk about how awful and tough the world is. Again, I had a great night and for every one moment he lost me, he had me laughing three times as much at the bits that felt a little more "classic"John Mulaney.

My first time seeing John Mulaney live & it was even better than I had anticipated! He is truly a gifted storyteller and can make even the most mundane event hilarious. I definitely consider him in the top 5 best comedians in the market today and I will surely go back to see him again and again and again from here forward. I can only imagine how much funnier he will be the older he gets!

by NCgirl62 on 10/5/25DPAC - Durham Performing Arts Center - DurhamRating: 5 out of 5

I loved John Mulaney. He was incredible. His show lasted for like a hour and a half. He was nonstop moving and having a blast with the audience. One of the best performances I have ever seen. I have never laughed that hard for that long. A must see. His first comedian was excellent performer. Loved him too.

  • A Master Class in Comedy

by FenwayFrank on 10/3/25Boch Center Wang Theatre - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

John Mulaney is one of the funniest comedians working today. Seeing him perform live for the third time, I was struck by how his comedic sense and the breadth of topics he can dissect so humorously have expanded organically. He covered so many aspects of his life that were relatable to audience members of all ages. He was smooth yet still fresh and spontaneous. We laughed from start to finish and wanted more, which he gave us with an on-point encore. It was a joy to laugh at such a skilled performer for 90 minutes.

  • Great show from a funny guy!

by Lou on 10/1/25Boch Center Wang Theatre - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

Comedy shows are usually an hour long. John Mulaney performed for 90 minutes. He was energetic, enthusiastic, and very funny. What more could you ask for? It was a great show!

  • So funny

by Joanna on 10/1/25Boch Center Wang Theatre - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

This was my first time seeing John Mulaney. I had watched him on YouTube and SNL so I knew he’d be great. Even better than expected. John was hilarious and very honest(I think) about his addictions and recovery. I’d definitely see him again.

  • Very good show

by Marshall on 10/1/25Boch Center Wang Theatre - BostonRating: 4 out of 5

Didn't know much about Mulaney prior to the show. A friend convinced me to buy the tickets. I watched some of his stand up shows that are streaming now and wasn't fully convinced I thought it was worth the ticket price. Went to the show at the Wang Theater in Boston and it was so much better than I anticipated, I would definitely go see John Mulaney again!

  • Mulaney Missed the Mark

by Loves Laughs on 10/1/25Boch Center Wang Theatre - BostonRating: 3 out of 5

I have seen many of John Mulaney's stand-up routines over the years and have always found him SO FUNNY! Even after he emerged from rehab, he was able to create really funny bits & pieces out of his stint there. I was assuming more of the same, plus some updated material. Well, was I disappointed! His show never really got going, meaning people weren't laughing much and, if so, they weren't the rowdy infectious laughs. Some things were funny, but not "laugh out loud"funny. It just fell flat. When the show finally ended, I didn't leave in a silly, typical "leaving a comedy show"mood. I walked out stone faced, like the rest of the people there - not laughing & not recanting the show. All that I heard were shuffling bodies exiting the venue, which really said it all!

  • Non-stop laughs!

He was absolutely hilarious and had a great opening act as well. Would see him again in heartbeat! The venue was beautiful.

Great proformance it was funny as hell I joyed the show

  • Great show but disapointing venue management.

by S.D on 9/30/25Boch Center Wang Theatre - BostonRating: 3 out of 5

The show was great, as expected. The opener and the main performance were funny and had a good energy with the crowd. However the venue, probably due to a two-show night, had significant delays with letting the audience in and created an enormous que of several blocks before starting admissions. This could have been handled better by creating more than one line or setting a more realistic schedule and informing the audience in advance. Another major problem was that for the entire duration of the show, ushers who seemingly didn't belonging to the venue walked up and down the isles every 3 minutes. They obscured the view of the stage for anyone not in the middle sections and were a constant moving distraction, significantly lowering the quality of the experience. I asked these ushers why they were doing this, as it is not common in such venues, and they apologized and explained it was a requirement made by Mulaney's production company to make sure no phones were filming the show. Although I understand the desire to prevent leaking, the request for no phone usage was made at the show's beginning and it seems unnecessary and demeaning toward the adult audience attending. The show was at a beautiful respectable theatre, the Boch Center in Boston, for which I paid quite a lot to attend, but this detail made it feel like a busy bar...

  • I was so disappointed.

by Comedic Collapse on 9/29/25Boch Center Wang Theatre - BostonRating: 1 out of 5

I’ve laughed out loud at so many of John Mulaney’s videos that I was really anticipating a great night. I had a hard time even mustering a smile. The only humor of the night I enjoyed was his ad lib with the folks in the front row.
