  • John Mulaney kept consistent quality entire show

by zxcvbnmpoiuytrewq on 11/24/14Capitol Theatre - ColumbusRating: 4 out of 5

Opening act was disappointing for relying on race jokes nearly his entire time. He was funny, but comedic genius goes beyond obvious, easy material. John Mulaney was absolutely terrific and I would have given the overall rating 5 stars with a better opening act.

Fun show!! John Mulaney is the best! Great venue too.

  • Hilarious

by MoeckelTime on 11/24/14Capitol Theatre - ColumbusRating: 5 out of 5

It wasn't quite as funny as New In Town, but then again, nothing is. He was still fantastic/better than 99% of other comics right now.

  • Fantastic Show

    by Tdawg12345 on 11/24/14Capitol Theatre - ColumbusRating: 5 out of 5

First of all, the opener was hilarious! His energy and jokes absolutely got us in the mood to be entertained. He did a wonderful job and I would see a show of just him! John Mulaney was incredible as well. As the evening went on I was wishing he would stay on stage all night! He did give a long performance but no one even noticed. What I loved most about John Mulaney was his ability to connect with audience members. He asked about their lives, what made them happy, and then geared his jokes AROUND that not AT those interests. Wonderfu, wonderful show. I will be buying tickets as soon as he comes around again.

My girlfriend and I frove 2 hours too go to this show and it was so much fun! The only complaint was that there was not a whole lot of advertising so being from out of town it as kind of difficult finding out where to go. But besides that it as such an awesome night!!

  • Fresh Material from John Mulaney

by Kujua on 11/24/14Capitol Theatre - ColumbusRating: 5 out of 5

Although I had never seen him live before, I somewhat expected to hear rehashed material. I was pleasantly surprised to hear 95% new material as well as brilliant ad-lib audience interaction.

  • Oh, hello

John Mulaney never fails to make you laugh. I was in tears most of the show and my stomach hurt from laughing. Absolutely loved the show!!!!!!

  • John Mulaney was pretty great

    by PScan69 on 11/23/14Wilbur Theatre - BostonRating: 4 out of 5

Im a huge fan, so it was great to see Mulaney live. Much of the show was improvised, but it was all great. You can tell he's working on the rest of his newest hour, and all of the prepared stuff was great, so was the improvisation. The opener wasnt great.

  • Go see John Mulaney!

by ZippityDoo on 11/23/14Wilbur Theatre - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

We just came across John Mulaney's special on Netflix a month or so ago and thought he was great. Fortunately he also came into town soon after. All new material for us and it was just outstanding. We seriously considered seeing him again a couple days later (knowing it would likely be mostly the same show) - it was just so funny. If you're on the fence, go see him live!

  • John Mulaney is classy

by FollowRafikiHeKnowsTheWay on 11/23/14Wilbur Theatre - BostonRating: 4 out of 5

He was great! It was all new material and he interacted with the crowd a lot. Very personable and relatable jokes. Very funny.

  • B for effort for John Mulaney

by LeQueef on 11/23/14Wilbur Theatre - BostonRating: 4 out of 5

I love John Mulaney. I've been a fan of his for years and saw him at the Wilbur Theatre in Boston in 2012 which was an amazing performance. His show on November 20, 2014 was good over all. My biggest disappointment comes from his recycling of material from 2 years ago. I would say 50% of his show was repeat stuff (his story about Murfreesboro, Tennessee was pretty much word-for-word what he said during a spot on Jimmy Fallon recently). I get that it's hard for comedians to have new material all the time, and maybe all the material for some lucky audience member this time was 100% new... But I found myself knowing the punchline of half of his stories which kinda sucked. Nonetheless, he is a consummate performer and his handling of some audience interactions were priceless. I highly recommend him if you've never seen any of his bits. Anyway, he gets a B for effort from me for this.

  • John Mulaney has the makings of a comic icon!

by YinChat on 11/23/14Wilbur Theatre - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

A wonderful show at the Wilbur to see John Mulaney. He was funny and told stories that made you laugh without throwing around a lot of profanity, insults, or f-bombs. Anyone can get on stage and swear up a storm (if you like that kind of comedy, you'd like his opening act) but John Mulaney has a gift. A must see if you are lucky enough to have him perform in a city near you.

  • A very enjoyable evening with a very funny man!

by Eeemart on 11/23/14Wilbur Theatre - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

John Mulaney is a fantastic stand-up comedian, and seeing his act in person was absolutely wonderful. His delivery is flawless, and the way he worked the crowd was a thing of beauty. Even the banter he had with the front-row of the audience was just about perfect. I would recommend seeing him live to anyone who enjoys laughing so much their cheeks hurt.

  • Mulaney @ the Wilbur 2014

    by TVD1 on 11/23/14Wilbur Theatre - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

Same material as 2013 @ The Wilbur. Love his delivery, so I still enjoyed the show.

  • Mulaney is better live than in Mulaney

by Ashrei on 11/6/14Punch Line Comedy Club - Sacramento - SacramentoRating: 4 out of 5

The title is understatement. He is far superior as a comedian than he is in his show, which I apologize for saying. He's got great materials for sure. I won't say it here, because I can't do justice and it's his jokes. It was definitely worth the money and I laughed for so very long. On semi-related note, kudos to John Mulaney on how he handled hackles. Considering he plays such a well-mannered comedian, sometimes it'd be hard (or at least I thought) to bring the situation back to him quickly. He has done just fine with hackles. However, hackers should still be maimed for being idiot. Then again, 2 drink rule at Punch Line kind of created that sort of situation, so shame on the venue not on the entertainer. Thank you Mulaney, I really enjoyed your show. I wish you the best of luck on all your endeavors.

  • MULANEY IS THE BOMB

by StrawberryAlarmclock on 5/8/14New Jersey Performing Arts Center - NewarkRating: 5 out of 5

I love this guy. Always hard to believe he's over 30. He has a baby face. And all the good jokes.

  • Fantastically Funny!

    by greenlights1 on 4/23/14NJPAC - NewarkRating: 5 out of 5

Mulaney was just absolutely phenomenal. For a bunch of jokes he supposedly "never" tried with an audience before, you really couldn't tell. It was seamless, hilarious comedy at its best. I was laughing the whole time. I've heard all of his albums prior to this and was glad to see he's still churning out some awesome material even while keeping as busy as he currently is.

  • Go see him!!

by MariaLlivi on 4/21/14The Space At Westbury - WestburyRating: 5 out of 5

He was impeccable! I laughed throughout the whole show. I had tears in my eyes from laughing so hard a couple times. I've seen and heard a lot of his stuff and this was all, new never repeats his past work. Overall hilarious and presents himself well. Really captivates his audience. Was able to see him after the show and he is a sweetheart and gentleman. My favorite comedian at the moment.
