Mulaney has hosted Saturday Night Live six times. He was a writer for the show starting in 2008, where he created memorable characters such as 'Stefon' with Bill Hader and worked with hundreds of hosts on their monologues. John Mulaney was fantastic. He was feeling rather under the weather during the show but he still put on a great performance and had the entire audience in stitches the entire time. Highly recommended if you enjoyed his other acts, like New in Town.

I've followed John Mulaney for the past few years, and he's always "on." Despite being a bit under the weather for his show, he really delivered! House of Blues was the perfect venue for him, although in a few years, I think he'll need much larger space.

  • John Mulaney is the funniest man alive!

by Mandee72 on 1/24/15House of Blues Houston - HoustonRating: 5 out of 5

The show was all new material for me. It was great! He made me laugh until I cried. The crowd was into it. Great audience interaction. Opening act was great as well! The only downside ...no T Shirts! But I can't wait to see John again!

  • BRILIANT SHOW

    by 1NorthStar on 1/24/15Warner Theatre - WashingtonRating: 5 out of 5

I have been a John Mulaney fan for years. But candidly I was very disappointed by his recent sitcom and was afraid he might have lost his edge. Nothing could have been further from the truth. Having seem him perform twice before, this was, without question, his best show. The pacing was perfect and the material drawn from his recent marriage was relatable and hysterical. He handled the crowd like a real pro. Definitely worth seeing. Comedian Mitch Hedberg had a brilliant bit many years ago in which he said it was unfair to ask comedians to write sitcoms. "It is like asking a great cook if he can farm!" John Mulaney can't farm. But he sure can cook.

All new material was fantastic and John really knows how to engage his audience. He's a very nice person who you just want to cheer for and laugh.

It's a shame his TV series never really worked, but this way he has more time for stand-up and touring. Great show!

  • Great show, crappy audience

by Anonymous on 1/20/15Warner Theatre - WashingtonRating: 4 out of 5

We attended the 10:45p showing. Mulaney and his opening act were great, even in the face of dealing with some incredibly rude audience members. I only wish I had gone to the 8pm showing b/c then we would've avoided the people who got wasted before hand and couldn't handle their alcohol. Mulaney was hilarious, relatable, and flexible and dealt with the jerks (people yelling at him, people getting up and leaving) without missing a beat. I would go again, definitely.

  • My cheeks hurt from laughing

    by MW3st0g on 1/19/15Warner Theatre - WashingtonRating: 5 out of 5

Seaton Smith was a fantastic opener. He had some great one-liners and we enjoyed his set very much. John Mulaney was hilarious. His stories were fantastic and we laughed the entire evening.

  • Buy the cow!

by bojaillie on 1/19/15Warner Theatre - WashingtonRating: 5 out of 5

Just brilliant. Having never seen John live before, we weren't sure what to expect, but he was excellent. (The opener was not too shabby either.) His treatise extending the metaphor on the old marriage adage: "why buy the cow when you can get the milk for free" alone was worth the price of admission. If only I could remember it all...

  • The best comedy show I've been to!

    by Megs11 on 1/19/15Warner Theatre - WashingtonRating: 5 out of 5

Not only was the venue (The Warner Theatre) beautiful, John Mulaney was unforgettable! All of the content was brand new and done to perfection.
