Mulaney has appeared in the last two seasons on the beloved FX Emmy award-winning series THE BEAR. Mulaney has hosted Saturday Night Live six times. He was a writer for the show starting in 2008, where he created memorable characters such as 'Stefon' with Bill Hader and worked with hundreds of hosts on their monologues. He also starred on Broadway in the runaway hit Oh, Hello On Broadway, written and performed alongside his long-time friend Nick Kroll. The duo also released a Netflix special of the same name and a hit limited-edition podcast called Oh, Hello: The P'dcast, based on their characters Gil Faizon and George St. Geegland.
Never stopped laughing, except for when there was a legitimate medical emergency, which he handled like a pro.
IMO: The Fox Theater is the best. John Mulaney set the bar for humor pretty high with past shows. This one didn't measure up to his capability.
He had great new stuff, very high level intelligence to deliver that kind of humor. It was the best, he went all over the place and brought it all back together in the end. I would see him again tomorrow. I love that he can be edgy and sensitive at the same time, and his ability to just bring you with his pin ball approach to this show. It was fresh, it was hilarious, he is one of the best.
This is our third time seeing John Muhlaney live and it’s always awesome. Thanks for coming back to the burgh, John!
Clever, funny, lasted long. Only complaint is the no phone policy, it created a hostile environment before the show.
I was laughing so hard my face hurt. Great show, probably the best I’ve seen from John Mulaney. He felt more raw. Really dug in on Jeff Bezos lazy eye
We loved it. John is hilarious and an incredible performer.
He’s beyond a pro, on another level. I’d go see him again and again.
John Mulaney put on a great set with material I’ve never heard of before in his John Mulaney form. Great story telling with a twist and dry delivery. His two opening acts were funny and delivered a good warm up to the main attraction.
John absolutely crushed it. He’s such an excellent story teller. All throughout the night, he had me crying from laughter. Easily one of the best comedians I’ve seen. The venue (Petersen Events Center) parking needs some serious work. Any amount of directing of traffic would be great. The only visible parking signs were the ones that said “no event parking” — it took us easily 30-45 minutes to find parking.
absolutely hilarious. i’m writing this at midnight after the show on my way home & am absolutely exhausted but take my word for it when i say john mulaney is amazing live. i’ve been a fan of his for years now and this is the first time i’ve seen him live, it was absolutely worth the lengthy drive and $180 on tickets :p
Funny as usual, John Mulaney was great! His opener Robbie Hoffman was also great, can't wait to see her special that John is producing on Netflix! The Rady Shell at Jacobs Park is an amazing venue...in the evening, right on the water with that ocean breeze to the left and San Diegos beautiful skyline on the right... perfect!
The opening acts were hilarious! Mulaney was great, we all laughed at the show and for days after.
He was extremely funny and he stayed on stage a long time, which was great for the audience.
Good show. Funny. We enjoyed ourselves. The seats were good and we could hear very well.
Even when he's not at his best, John Mulaney is funny. He has a gift. That said, there were three of us in our group and we all felt that some of his bits were too long. Specifically, the washer/dryer, the Exorcist, the kid's voice and the party bags. We saw him at the Fox Theater in Detroit. He said a lot of nice things about Detroit and that was good to hear. The comic that opened for him may have been funny, but we couldn't tell because of the way he held the microphone. Half of his words were garbled so we didn't understand what he said. The second comic, a female, was easy to understand and was good. The show started promptly at 7:30p and ended abouy 9:30p. There were several different groups of people with orchestra seats who arrived late - really late - like 8:20, 8:30, and they were very distracting. I get missing the opening acts, but come on, arriving 20-30 minutes late into the headliners show is just rude. Call me the Manners Police, but I don't think that people who arrive 30 minutes into the headliner's set should be seated.
So much fun, John Mulaney has such a hilarious take on everything! I went with my adult kids and we had a blast! The Fox Detroit was beautiful as always.
Fantastic show!! Beautiful venue! Our group of 4 had such a great time! Even though the four people in front of us were offended by our laughter (it’s a comedy show!) we had a blast!
I would see this exact show again 1000 more times. John Mulaney knocked it out of the park, and gave us EVERYTHING he had for a night of nonstop cackling. 10/10
If you’re on the fence about going to see John Mulaney, go see him! I was almost in tears laughing so hard. He’s the best.
