About

Country singer John Michael Montgomery has been treating fans to his earnest, heartfelt music for over 20 years. With 18 million albums sold and 15 No. 1 singles, Montgomery has established a style rooted in his impassioned delivery, wonderful storytelling and rich baritone voice. A ticket to a Montgomery concert is like a chance to reconnect with an old friend. The singer tells stories and plays songs that span his entire career, from early hits like his 1993 crossover success, “I Swear,” through more recent tracks, like "Forever" and "Mad Cowboy Disease" off his 2008 album, Time Flies. He even throws in some more recent work, like his 2013 collaboration with Colt Ford, Ride Through The Country, which also featured Ronnie Dunn and Joe Diffie.

Montgomery’s career started back in the early 1990s, playing dive bars in his hometown of Danville, Kentucky, until the day Nashville came calling. With the release of his 1992 debut album, Life’s A Dance, Montgomery immediately rocketed into country superstardom, with a No. 1 hit, “I Love the Way You Love Me," which a considered a timeless country classic. He followed it up with "I Swear" and the whimsical "Sold (The Grundy County Auction Incident)," which were the Billboard Country Singles Of The Year for 1994 and 1995, respectively. Montgomery also showed his serious side with powerful numbers like "The Little Girl," a song he wrote for his daughter, and 2004’s "Letters From Home," his tribute to the troops, featuring actual recordings of soldiers' messages to their families. Recent years have seen Montgomery slow down a bit, but he will be going on tour throughout the US in 2014 and has recently announced that new music is on its way.

This concert was everything I hoped for. John is a seasoned professional. He tried getting in as many hits as possible.

    JMM was awesome!

by 1purplerose on 5/1/10Daytona Beach Peabody Auditorium - Daytona Beach

JMM and his band were great. He really was able to shine performing in a small venue. Although the performance was only a 1 1/2 hours in length, it was a treat to listen to JM jam on his guitar to some crowd favorites! We look forward to seeing him again!

I took my boyfriend for his birthday because he likes country music, and i had no idea what to expect, but all the songs john sang, my boyfriend knew. We both had a great time. he doesnt do well with crowds normally so the seats kept it organized. It was an excellent experience and I would like to do it again.

    Disappointed

by Vcatomine on 4/24/10Daytona Beach Peabody Auditorium - Daytona Beach

Country music was great. Just what we paid to see and hear. Did not appreciate having to listen to rock music. Crowd was small and maybe these are part of the reasons. Will not go to see him again. Was not as I and 4 others expected. We went to see and hear the country star. Had a one hour show. Not good for the money.

by Flyboy53 on 4/24/10Daytona Beach Peabody Auditorium - Daytona Beach

The John Michael Montgomery concert was amazingly fantastic. I was very pleases with the seats and the sound. However, it was way too short. I could have sat there for at least two hours longer.

The concert was very enjoyable. Sometimes it is nice to see a concert at a smaller venue, you actually get to see the performer and enjoy the music.

Great music, great seats, great atmospher. Would love to see more country music like this at Peabody Auditorium. The service personnel were great also. John M. Montgomery was better than before. Bought another CD today. Would love to see him again maybe meet him face to face and get an autograph. There was no time to get his autograph at this venue.

John Michael left us wanting more...........

by Glori22 on 4/24/10Daytona Beach Peabody Auditorium - Daytona Beach

John Michael Montgomery was the best thing that hit Daytona Beach in years.......loved hearing him sing his hit song "I Swear" . His concert lasted 1 1/2 hours including the encore and had no opening acts. I would love to see him return to Daytona and would definitely recommend him to friends.

    upset

by Anonymous on 4/24/10Daytona Beach Peabody Auditorium - Daytona Beach

My group of 4 was so, so upset after looking forward to hearing John in the flesh after missing him for so long, he played the guitar so such a long time, people around me were leaving, looking board, then after only 1 hour he turned his guitar and the back said Thank you, that was disgusting to say the least, we spoke to someone from Peabody's who said he was contracted for 75 mins, he then came back on for one!! one more song big deal!! we are his fans, does he not appreciate that!!! It just looked like he was waiting to get PAID. ont get me wrong he still has that wonderful voice, his old song were great, but what about his new songs!!! Plus we could not understand a word he said whilst talking, he sounded as if he was drunk.

    Mixed Feelings about evening

by MsDebi on 3/2/10Lumiere Place - St. Louis

Thought JMM and his band sounded good. Enjoyed hearing some of his hit songs . I liked the small theater. Was not happy about entire section in front of stage being blocked. Seat setup was not what was shown online. Not happy that I could not get a bottle of water from the bar outside the theater. Extremely unhappy that he did some rock music when we came to hear country music and subsequently did not get to hear him sing some of his hits that we would have liked to hear. The couple sitting next to us were so unhappy they left on the first rock song played and did not return. Not happy that we had to walk through a very smoky casino area to get to the stairs for the theater. Very unhappy that there was no parking allotted for people coming to the theater. There could have been places blocked off with the requirement of showing the ticket to park there. A $40 reasonaly priced evening turned out to cost over $60 due Ticketmaster fees and parking fees. I'm not sure that I will go to any show there again. . I've had more fun in Branson and gotten more for my money including the star signing autographs after the shows. Even the pictures sold at the souvenir stands weren't autographed.

    Fun in a small setting

by JPD5150 on 3/1/10Lumiere Place - St. Louis

Was a refreshing change of pace from the large venue I'm used to. Very intimate setting. JMM was good and played all the favorites. Only drawback was the lentgh of the show, but would still recommend.

    He still has it !

by jennaxx on 3/1/10Ho Chunk Casino - Baraboo

John Michael Montgomery has still got it. He has had over 20 chart-topping hits in his career and I really loved his music back in the 90's. He has since faded from the limelight. When my husband told me that he heard John Michael Montgomery was playing at our local casino- we snagged two tickets right away. We had a blast. We sang along (loud !) throughout the whole show and people were dancing in the aisles to their favorites. John Michael Mntgomery was hilarious and very good natured. He made comments about his own weight, senility and the fact that he looks nothing like the proo posters for the concerts...hehe. It is true that he has put on some weight but honestly I think he looks better than he did in the 90's when he was clean shaven and smaller. He looks sexy now. :) He played a mean guitar- especially when he did Bob Seger's "Turn The Page". John Michael threw lots of guitar picks out to the crowd and we got one but my husband lost it. It somehow fell out of his pocket. So I am bummed about that. Anyway, we had a great time and so did everyone else as I heard people talking after the show and also saw other reviews where people said what a great time they had. Come back JMM ! P.S. JMM and I have the same birthday. It has nothing to do with anything but I love telling people that anyway.
