John Mayall stil has it. He is an amazing performer and this was an amazing show. He gave the fans what they wanted and even signed autographs from the stage right after the show. I gave him two albums and he signed them both. See him before he retires, which I hope never happens. The parking at Patriot Place/Showcase Live in Foxboro was a nightmare. A Patriots pre-season game was going on at the same time and no police officer would let us in even though we had tickets to the show. They just liked to yell at me for asking where to park. An email went out from Ticketmaster to park in lot P6, which was a nice thing to send out. Lot P6 was unlabelled and took forever to find.
Had a great time at his show last night!!! His band was top of the line with great talent....great seeing someone like Mayall in a venue like that it makes it up close and personal and something you'll always remember!!!
How could they schedule a concert in Foxboro alongside the Patriots vs New Orleans football game? We have been looking forward to this event for months and ended up not going because of the traffic issues related to the football game. What a shame we missed this legend....really, really disappointed. But the Kraft family still got our money!!
really good show in this great new venue. Good music, great environment, excellent food and service. What more do you want?
It was a wonderful concert that exceeded my expectations. I can't imagine someone attending and not being captivated by Mayall's talent. The members of his band were all first-rate, self-assured musicians. They really cooked! Unfortunately, getting to and from the concert was a real drag. I spent an extra hour each way in bumper-to-bumper traffic, due to a preseason football game at the stadium next to the concert venue.
When I purchased the ticket for this show I looked forward to seeing a great event from a master of the blues and a music legend. I was not disappointed.
Show was amazing. John always puts together the best musicians you may or may not have heard of, but will definately hear of in the future. And the man can still cook into his 70's. Only down side was it was scheduled the same night as a patriots game so traffic was horrendous!!! They should let you know that before you buy tickets. I don't think I would do that again.
The concert was so much fun. John was lively and engaging as was his excellent band. They were all amazing musicians. Very tight. High energy. Absolutely one of the best shows we've attended this year.
John Mayall went deep into his library for rare classics as well as his better known songs. A true performer and front man, Mayall lead his incredible band through a non-stop, energetic set. Mayall didn't pick up his guitar last night, staying with piano, harmonica and his unwavering vocals. As long as John Mayall has been around, all his music, even songs from the early sixties sounded new and fresh. Seeing him live, you knew you were hearing a true legend. I can't imagine what's taking Eric Clapton so long to invite Mayall for a reunion concert at Madison Square Garden.
John Mayall is the godfather of the British blues movement and is one of the best talent spotters in the business. He played with Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, Peter Green and others before they were famous. At 77 years old he can still command an audience. Playing an eclectic mix of old (1964) tracks of his first album and his new one. He is energetic, sprightly and committed to making great music. His band was as good as you would expect from someone who clearly demands the best. The band look like they were really enjoying themselves and this communicated itself to the audience.
Classic Mayall. Still going strong and has not lost anything over time. In my opinion, his overall capabilities have improved. A delight to watch!!!
At 77 John Mayall rocks. This version of the Bluesbreakers is as good as any. They were clearly having a blast and it showed. The blues doesn't get any better than this.
Mr Mayall is the living apitomy of the blues...he never disappoints !! I have seen him many times over the years with all the different musicians he has introduced to the world from Eric Clapton to Buddy Wittington to name a few....and he is still cranking it out big time !!
Could have been a little warmer but the music was outstanding . Great food good people . I traveled from upstate New York and it was well worth while . Had VIP tickets for Sunday only I think next time I will get them for all three days .
All the artist were amazing the whole day was great would recomend to anyone
Anna Popovitch, Walter Trout and John Mayall were fantastic. Worthy of a show of their own and to have that lineup was a true treat.
Trout is a phenomenol guitarist. Ana Popovic was very good, but I came to see John Mayall again. I've seen him many times and always enjoy him. He seems to ejoy himeself more than I do. That's important. I'ts amazing how he works and at his age. A true legend in the British Blues genre. If you have him again, I will be there again!!!
The Sunday lineup of artists was a collection of great talent...each group was able to play their own brand of blues that was enjoyed by each age group in attendance...there were alot of older "kids" like my wife and I who still feel comfortable at an outdoor concert...the groups did not dissapoint...everyone there was courteous and the available sea food was plentiful...we had reserved seats but there was more than enough room for everyone to see and hear all the groups...the fact that the concerts were free added to the enjoyment for all...great job, Clearwater...Ana Popovic was great, Walter Trout was very good, and John Mayall was magical...
While the food ranged from forgettable to downright awful (it took lots of Bud to keep that so-called crab fritter down cause it didn't want to stay there), the music was out of this world. Walter Trout put on one hell of a show, and John Mayall still wails on a harp. Ana Popovic was the real shocker. That woman left me slack-jawed, teary eyed and with the very air sucked out of my lungs. She was that good. I was transfixed by her music from her first song to the end. She had to keep switching guitars to keep them from catching fire. Her voice sounds like she's channeling Joplin. Go see her whenever, wherever you can.
