Live comedy podcasts are a lot of fun! John Hodgman and Jesse Thorn are hilarious!

    Better than the podcast

by AMMMMNMM on 9/27/16The Wilbur - Boston

Laughed so much - the disagreements they chose were great! Lots of fun to laugh with the audience instead of by myself on the train with strangers who look at me funny.

    Fun show

    by Kate3D on 9/23/16The Wilbur - Boston

Live Justice is indeed LIVE! At its best, it's a very engaging show, with a lot of spontaneity and fun. The downside of doing a live show with non-professional "guests" (the plaintiffs and defendants) is that the show can drag in parts, and indeed I felt like the show went on maybe half an hour longer than it needed to. Overall, though, it was a great time!

    Blew away all my expectations

by podcaster on 9/21/16The Wilbur - Boston

I regularly listen to this podcast, but the live experience was 10x better than I could have expected. I was expecting a 45 minute show, and instead was incredibly happy to get an almost 3 hour long show that had me laughing from start to finish. I bought these tickets on a whim and I'm SO GLAD I took the opportunity to go.

    Hodgman was smart and funny

by TEDxer on 11/3/15Marines Memorial Theatre - San Francisco

John Hodgman brought his storytelling skills to the Marines Memorial Theatre. He was great, and I recommend seeing him the next time he comes to town.

    Great story time.

by NativeMassachusettsian on 10/27/15Carolina Theatre - Durham

This was a really great show. John Hodgman is really funny in various TV and podcasts, but his style of stand-up comedy is a little different than his on-air personality. His stories build slow, punctuate in unexpected twists, and connect back. Beyond being funny (which he is), he's an excellent story teller. It was a really great show.

he obviously has a following who thought he was fabulous. that's puzzling. a nice fellow, kind of engaging, not particularly funny - - would never see him again.

Fantastic show. Very interesting (and sometimes very deep) talk that was hilarious throughout. John Hodgman is fantastic.

    HORRIBLE! LEFT IN THE MIDDLE

    by Birthday50Girl on 10/27/15Carolina Theatre - Durham

Maybe it finally got funny after I left, but I doubt it. I had high hopes after reading all about John and listening to one of his stand ups on you tube. It was my 50th birthday and this was supposed to be the big event. We arrived by limo, all 6 of us, and piled in for what we thought would be an amazing evening. Instead, we kept waiting for the show to get funny. Nothing, nothing. It was so horribly boring and NOT FUNNY. I would never, ever recommend John Hodgman to anyone who is looking for laughs. Sad.

    Maybe I'm biased...

by DurhamBro on 10/27/15Carolina Theatre - Durham

I listen to this man's podcast weekly, and have grown very familiar with the nuances of his voice and personality. Also, like Judge Hodgman, my wife grew up summering in Maine. I've been, too. So I found this show and the man presenting it super-relatable.

    John Hodgman Rocks!

by Armadillo7306 on 9/17/15Port City Music Hall - Portland

My first time at Port City Music Hall in Portland and my first time seeing John Hodgman live was a great time. Staff was friendly, everything was clean and organized. Bathrooms were a bit of a walk but clean. As for John Hodgman, he was great! It was aimed at Maine and had the Rt 95 Bananna Man open for him.

Unless you already like him ... you won't.

by Unhappybtw on 9/16/15Wilbur Theatre - Boston

I bought tickets and believed the ratings on ticketmaster. I was traveling to Boston for my birthday and went with 4 x 25 year olds and my wife and I, both 50's. People either loved the show or hated it. We hated it. He spent two hours telling 3 stories while trying to make lame remarks regarding everything such as his family, poor people, rich people, etc.. He also seemed to make a lot of inside jokes. Our group included every age and social economic group and no one liked the show. I think this is a show for nerds with nothing better to do but follow lame performers who make them feel like a groupie.

    Hodgman is Hodgman

by ThatOldGuy on 9/16/15Port City Music Hall - Portland

This was a delightful evening with a predictably charming and amusing guy. Much of the material seemed tailored to the local audience (and a bit un-rehearsed, which was nice) rather than just being a canned performance.

    Hodgmania!

by theGreenengineer on 9/15/15Wilbur Theatre - Boston

Mr. Hodgman entertained us for about 90 minutes a collection of stories and tall tales about Western Mass and Maine. Is he the New England version of Garrison Keillor?

    Great Show!

by SatisifedCustomer on 9/15/15Wilbur Theatre - Boston

John Hodgman was hilarious. I was not entirely sure what to expect from him live, but he was very funny with the right levels of self-awareness and self-deprecation needed for the kind of material he was covering. He *NAILED* the experience of vacationing in Maine and the tribulations of the hopelessly insecure. The opening stand-up was also good, but more of a typical stand-up comic, which, in retrospect, felt al ittle out of plaec with Hodgman's style.

    His cats and He...

by Houndess on 9/16/14Carolina Theatre - Durham

Enjoyed an evening of watching John Hodgman dance, sing, get almost naked...and now I can't remember a thing, except that he talked a lot about cats
