by MonSten on 7/20/09Carter Barron Amphitheatre - WashingtonRating: 4 out of 5

Concert was great. The all-female band Bella Donna was hot! Chico debarge was good. Joe was unbelievable. Really good show for the price...

  • Joe/Chico Debarge - Carter Barron Washington DC

by Smedroc on 7/20/09Carter Barron Amphitheatre - WashingtonRating: 3 out of 5

First of all - the weather was spectacular for an outdoor concert. I was alittle disappointed that Chico only performed maybe four to five songs. I think his set lasted maybe 30 minutes. The group Bella Donna the opening act performed longer than Chico Debarge. However, Joe turned it out . Overall, the concert was worth the $24.00 ticket price. The Carter Barron is a very nice venue. I was go again to check out Joe/Chico.

  • Really Good Show

    by creolequeen13 on 7/20/09Carter Barron Amphitheatre - WashingtonRating: 4 out of 5

I am a huge Chico Debarge fan and I go see him whenever he comes to town. I love his music, his style and his flow.... Its a real laid back type of vibe! He sounded great as usual. The only problem was that his set was too short; he only did about 5 - 6 songs, if that. He left me wanting more!!!!! Joe put on a wonderful show... He is quite the entertainer, as he sang and danced across the stage. He sounded really good and all in all, the show was great!

  • Joe/Chico Debarge July 18, 2009

by Necy on 7/20/09Carter Barron Amphitheatre - WashingtonRating: 5 out of 5

Joe & Chico Debarge were amazing! Joe is still a great singer. Chico Debarge is still great too! - I also would have like to heard some more old school songs as well. I'd like to see them again!!

  • Joe is beautiful, sexy and quite the entertainer

by Lavette on 7/20/09Carter Barron Amphitheatre - WashingtonRating: 4 out of 5

Joe is a very talanted artist, I love that he serenaded the audience with his melodic and smooth vocals. I would go to see him perform again and again. It was good to see that Chico DeBarge, considering his past, is doing Okay, and still persuing his music career. The star of the show however was Joe - he is no doubt a beautiful person.

  • The brothers are BAD

by LaRED on 7/20/09Carter Barron Amphitheatre - WashingtonRating: 4 out of 5

Chico and Joe gave outstanding performance, and BellaDonna was a very pleasant surprise. Going to pickup Chico and Joe's CD, both brother got my support and there tribute to MJ sealed the show.

  • JOE and CHICO was the BOMB!

by DeeBaby on 7/20/09Carter Barron Amphitheatre - WashingtonRating: 5 out of 5

A great show!! I don't think Joe wanted to leave us. He performed and performed and performed! I'm a big fan of Joe and try to see him every chance I can. Last 4th of July, he was staying at the same hotel I was staying at in South Beach. Got to see him and meet him up close. Even got a nice picture! I love the tribute to MJ at the end..... Love you Joe!

  • Must See

by smoovetaste on 7/20/09Carter Barron Amphitheatre - WashingtonRating: 5 out of 5

The show as absolutly fabulos. Joe, gave the ladies a first class performance. Chico , was creditable, his voice was good. But, the opening act BelaDona represented for the all GIRLZ bands, BIG shout out to them. They represented DC hands down. Overall, entire show was wonderful. Venue was cozy, could see from any seat.

  • Joe is phenomenal!

by TCarrie on 7/20/09Carter Barron Amphitheatre - WashingtonRating: 5 out of 5

This was a wonderful show. The opening band Bella Donna ..... FIERCE. There is no other adjective I can think of. They really warmed up the crowd. These ladies are multi-talented and I can't wait to catch them again. Chico DeBarge had a decent but short set. I think the crowd would've enjoyed his set much more had he intermingled his new unknown songs with the known rather than singing old first, new last and closing with the recent single. Joe, Joe, Joe! I have been a fan since "All That I Am" and have pretty much grown up to Joe's music. This was my first time seeing him live and boy was he great. He sounds just like his records and has great presence. Please come back to DC.

  • A show not to have been missed!

I really enjoyed that concert! The opening act was great, Chico came back with a bang, and Joe was wonderful as usual.

  • Joe shut it Down

by SusieVanderpool on 7/20/09Carter Barron Amphitheatre - WashingtonRating: 4 out of 5

Chico Debarge and Joe were great however it seemed like Chicoco was alittle tired. I wished he would have sang more songs especially No Gaurantee. However Joe was excellent and had more energy! It would have been really nice if they had sang together!

  • Joe - Chico Debarge

    by april18babe on 7/20/09Carter Barron Amphitheatre - WashingtonRating: 5 out of 5

I arrived on time for the show with hopes that it would start on time. To my pleasure it did. I knew that I had to leave early to drive my son out of town for summer camp... so my hope was that Chico would perform first. After all, he was the reason why I attended. However, the all female band was the beginning act. And I was not disappointed after their performance. They did a good job. As for Chico... his flow is still the same...awesome. He is entertaining on stage as well as in control of his performance. I find him to be refreshing and more old school than most entertainers. He is definitely an artist. I left the show after Chico's performance smiling. I definitely had a nice time.

  • Oh well...

by rncnderu on 7/20/09Carter Barron Amphitheatre - WashingtonRating: 1 out of 5

It just did not have the type of energy I was expecting...and lacked stage presence. Also, at such a venue, it would be advisable to have some big screens so that for those sitting at the back who keep getting blocked by dancing fans, they can still enjoy the show.

  • Exciting show

The opening act was surprisingly good and Joe was greate.

  • Joe is a true entertainer

by Scacy on 7/20/09Carter Barron Amphitheatre - WashingtonRating: 5 out of 5

What can I say. This was the best show I've seen in a long time. Both performances were great. Chico Debarge is very talented. Joe is the man. I knew he was talented but I had no idea he was great. My wife has been a fan of Joe's forever and she described his performance as magical, fantastic, great, polished, dramatic and touching. I think that sums it up.

  • Chico and Joe were AMAZING!!!!!

    by JoeFan4Life on 7/19/09Carter Barron Amphitheatre - WashingtonRating: 5 out of 5

I was able to attend the incredible outdoor concert of Joe and Chico Debarge. For all of those who were not in attendance YOU MISSED A GREAT SHOW! Both artists sound exactly like the music on the cds, radio, etc. Bringing real soul music and true showmanship back is what Chico and Joe did on Saturday, July 18th! Amazing voices, beautiful musicians...you can tell they both eat, breathe, sleep their craft. Truly a blessed event that will go down in my record book among the greatest live performances I've been able to experience. THANK YOU JOE AND CHCO DEBARGE for a wonder experience...it was truly food for my soul. God Bless :o)

  • True men of R&B

by Danielle711 on 7/19/09B.B. King Blues Club and Grill - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

They may not be commercials musicians, but they are timeless artist. Songs that were before my time are now my time. I didn't even know they had albums coming out, but trust I will support these men as long as they keep giving me the love joints! Much success to these GROWN ASS MEN!

  • Time well spent

The show was awesome. Those men shut it down and held it down. I was standing from the time Chico went on stage until they sang their calabo at the end. I can't wait to see them again. True artist

  • Concert was great!

l loved everyone who performed, from the group Bella Donna to the main events Chico and Joe. I love Chico's voice and was a little miffed that he didn't do more songs. Joe brought the house down. For the price I would do it again, and again, and again.......
