  • WoW...........Let's Do It Again

by Parisdarling on 7/22/09House of Blues Chicago - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

Joe sounded great and he was smoking hot....He was great on the guitar and sexy as hell with his clothes on.....But smoking hotttt with his shirt off......Chico was ok too...although his best songs were borrowed from his bothers.... Any way after the show I got to meet both of them, who were very friendly and huggable....but most of all Joe was just on and ooooozing sex appeal .....he was too sexy for his clothes.....OMG

  • Joe .. I'm in Love

Chico has a beautiful voice I'm glad he's back. BUT Joe turned the show OUT!!!!! I didn't want it to end. I will see him again.

  • Joe put it down with style!!!!

The female band Be'La Dona was very good and very entertaining. Chico DeBarge was okay to me. Joe was awesome! I overhead the male audience commenting on how well his stage performance was and his voice was so clear and crisp!!

  • The show was very good. I really enjoyed it.

The show was very good. I really enjoyed it. The weather was nice. Chico did a wonderful job and I was glad to her his new single "Oh no". I loved Joe. He sung all of my songs. The only thing I didn't like was the parking at the Carter Barron. It is not enough spaces especially when the concert attendees are also sharing parking spaces with people who are cooking out in the park. Other than that it was great!

  • Chico & Joe were great!!!

I so enjoyed the show. The view was great, the crowd was fun and the artists were phenomenal!!!!

  • Joe Blew me Away

by Waterfalls on 7/22/09Carter Barron Amphitheatre - WashingtonRating: 5 out of 5

Let me start by saying that I only wanted to see Chico DeBarge - period, point blank, the end, and so happy that he's free, but JOE blew me away! I was a little confused when he came on stage wearing a tuxedo with a bow tie, I was like - "this is the Carter Barron, it's not that serious", but to my surprise it was all worth it. As he continued with his performance, I understood what he was going for - and I LOVED IT!!!! It all went together from the tux, to him taking his shirt off, to him putting on a white tank, the backround lights and all had me a shock mode. What's crazy and great at the same time, is that he sounds exactly like he was in the radio speaker, that really blew me away. Now don't get me wrong Chico did his thang, I was just surprised with Joe, even went as far as to let everyone I knew about how he was, I'd go see him again anywhere. JOE you ROCK!!!!!!

  • A Night to Remember

by illusion on 7/22/09Carter Barron Amphitheatre - WashingtonRating: 5 out of 5

The show was Awesome from beginning to end. It started with an all girls band BD. A different well welcomed flavor. Chico Debarge hasn't missed a beat. He has his own distinct sound, which i truly appreciate. JOE, what can I saw AWESOME!!!!! I have been a long time fan, but I've never had the opportunity to see him live. What a performer. Sing, Dance, play instrument; he does it all.

  • I love me some him

    by tyl02 on 7/22/09Carter Barron Amphitheatre - WashingtonRating: 5 out of 5

I loved the show. I am a huge Joe fan. Ive seen him every time he has come to town. I missed most of the first act and i didnt know most of the songs Chico was singing. However, I was on my feet the whole nite swaying to the smooth sounds of Joe. And thanks for taking the shirt off, my concert neighbors and I appreciated that. I do wish it couldve went on a little longer but, ill take what i can get. I also enjoyed the dedication to MJ. He was one of my favorites too.

  • Joe was AWESOME

by JMitchell on 7/22/09Keswick Theatre - GlensideRating: 5 out of 5

Joe was the Bomb. I hope he returns again next year I will be their. I have been to several concerts in my life time. Their was just that extra special something about this one. It poored down raining as soon as we pulled into the parking lot their was no way to get into the theater without getting wet. My hair was wet, my dress was wet, my shoes were ruined, none of that mattered once the concert started. I thanked my husband again for taking me to the concert the next day. He apologized for the rain and the sobritety check point . I replyed what rain what check point. He of course smiled just like I am when I think about the concert. I can still hear him singing.

  • Great concert!

by Sassett on 7/21/09Carter Barron Amphitheatre - WashingtonRating: 4 out of 5

I saw the Joe/Chico Debarge concert this past Sat. I was a little late getting there, so I missed seeing the opening act Be'la Donna. I stood in a long line at the Will Call ticket counter, since there were only 2 ladies working the ticket booth. I heard the opening act sing, they sounded great. By the time I received my ticket and walked through the security line, the opening act had finished. I stood in a long line to use the restroom and get snacks before Chico started his show. Unfortunately, the snack line was so long, I ended up watching Chico perform 4 of his songs while standing in the snack line. By the time I got my snacks and found a seat to watch the concert, Chico was leaving the stage. I was sad to see his concert end so quickly. Joe gave a great show. The crowd wanted to hear the old songs. Unfortunately, Joe lost the audience for while when he started playing his guitar and singing the not so popular songs from his current cd. All in all, it was a great show. I was upset that the concert ended at 10:30pm. I've seen many concerts at the Carter Barron lasting much longer than this one. If NPS is going to reduce the performance time of the artists, I would suggest they leave out booking opening acts. I'd much rather see the artists perform a lil longer on stage vs. waisting a half hour to forty minutes watching the opening act.

  • Joe was phenomenal!!

by PosDnuos on 7/21/09Carter Barron Amphitheatre - WashingtonRating: 4 out of 5

This was my first time seeing either one of these gentlemen in concert. Chico was good, but Joe was great!!! I would definitely like to see Joe in concert again.

  • Joe/Chico - Very Sexy

by Dontria on 7/21/09Carter Barron Amphitheatre - WashingtonRating: 4 out of 5

I thoroughly enjoyed both Chico DeBarge and Joe. I wish that Chico played a little longer, but Joe did not disappoint. He sang all his sexy slow songs and I would definitely see him again.

  • Joe & Chico - great vocalists

by afenia on 7/21/09Carter Barron Amphitheatre - WashingtonRating: 4 out of 5

To be honest, I thought this concert was going to be good when I first heard about it. We missed the opening act but they sounded good from what I could hear. Chico comes out and he sounded a little nervous at first but after the first song, he got it together. His set was about 30 minutes and that was too short because he left you wanting more. So Joe comes out and from the time he came on the stage, he burned it up. He sang hit after hit which kept the crowd going. He stated he was 36 and started his career at 18 so you can only imagine how many songs he performed. This show could not have been better. After Joe finished, he brought Chico back out and they did a little memorial to Michael Jackson. They closed the show with their duet and it sounded just like it did when it was released years ago. Great show and the price made it even better!

  • Joe and Chico

by Donnell on 7/21/09Carter Barron Amphitheatre - WashingtonRating: 3 out of 5

Overall, I thought that the show was alright. At times the music was too loud and you couldn't hear the words of the artist. Also, when listening to the DJ play music; the music dropped and then it was brought back up time and time again. The host who was speaking to the audience; her voice was on the stage only and not in the house. It seems like the audio engineer only catered to the artist sound on stage and didn't attempt to please the audience with good sound. I hope the engineer learn to put the vocals above the music so the audience could enjoy a good show.

  • Joe brought it!!!!!

    by Alicia3 on 7/21/09Carter Barron Amphitheatre - WashingtonRating: 5 out of 5

The show was great, the weather was nice for an outside event. Chico Debarge brought a nice energy and it was good to see him from such a long absence. But the show stopper was Joe, he came on stage and was clean as a whistle but that didn't stop him from getting down and dirty and he did. He danced his butt off and interacted with the crowd like crazy. On top of that he is sexy as hell. I will definately see him again.

  • Carter Barron

by NewChapter on 7/21/09Carter Barron Amphitheatre - WashingtonRating: 5 out of 5

Joe...OMG. He was HOT! The crowd loved him. He was smooth, seductive, and sexy. He was humble and conveyed his appreciation by contributing his last songs to Michael Jackson. Just a Class Act! If Joe is in your surrounding go see him; he's worth it...and more... Glad to see Chico Debarge back!

  • Joe & Chico

    by BB60 on 7/20/09Carter Barron Amphitheatre - WashingtonRating: 4 out of 5

The concert was excellent overall. All three acts were good. I was pleasantly surprised by the opening act, Bella Dona (a local group). The only disappointment that I experienced from the other acts was that Chico did not perform enough for me. Ten years has past since I saw him last perform. It seemed like Chico sang about five songs whereas Joe sang about 20. Joe was excellent, he could sang all night long. Chico could have sang a few more songs (Iggin Me was one). He looked spectacular, as if time has stood still for him. Both men have aged very gracefully and oh so sexy. The collaboration at the end of the show was very nice. I have to catch Chico at a smaller more initimate venue, hopefully. How many times did I say Chico? I did become more of a Joe fan after this concert. I liked most every song that he sang.

  • Joe was awesome. Chico still has it.

by BajanQueen on 7/20/09Carter Barron Amphitheatre - WashingtonRating: 5 out of 5

The concert was unbeleivable, Joe's energy was high and he connected with the audience, took us back trhough his songs and even performed songs from his new album. His voice is so smooth and he knows how to reach out to the audience. Chico has not lost his touch, I especially liked it when they performed together and sang tribute songs to Michael Jackson.

  • Great Show!

by Mcgeesh on 7/20/09Carter Barron Amphitheatre - WashingtonRating: 5 out of 5

The show was great and the price couldn't have been better!!! Both artist appeared as though all deserved a well put-on show and the venue made for a small, intimate crowd.

  • Joe tore it up!!

by BeautyQueen on 7/20/09Carter Barron Amphitheatre - WashingtonRating: 4 out of 5

It was nice to see Chico back on the scene. Looking forward to more hits from him. Joe connected well with the audience, not to mention they were both sexy as hell.
