Great show and venue. Band always delivers. Easy in and out as to traffic.
So the band itself was was incredible. They had long interesting jams that really got in the groove and had the place jumping. As a long time deadhead it’s been many years since I have heard any band that fricking tight. Very impressive! My only complaint is the price gouging on refreshments. This is a totally despicable practice and, I’m getting tired of it. Sure make a profit but geez be reasonable.
They never fail to deliver. Had a great time as always
JRAD just rocks , I wouldn't call them a "Dead coverband"yes they played GD but their transitions are very unique and jammy. Phil Lesh had just passed so everyone was very emotional to begin with. They played their hearts out in a most difficult situation. Both Joe and Tom were in tears at the end of the 1st show and consoled each other with hugs will go again if they play within 500 miles of me 😀
JRAD does a unique interpretation of Grateful Dead with clear, clean audio balance between instruments and vocals. Great band and recommend.
You won't be disappointed if you're a GD fan. These guys are the real deal and so much fun!
Great band! sounded perfect, they were enjoying themselves and we had a greatr time!!
Incredible music from JRAD. SO much talent and energy. Couldn't "find"ticket on Ticketmaster app even though it was there before I left for show. Huge delay in connecting to email at venue. Heard others voicing the same experience. $20.25 (before tax) for a so-so beer that gets warm before you can drink it all. How is that going to compete with a 10mg edible that only costs $2 to $3?
Bass Great, Lesh Filling 😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎 😜☀️☀️😜😜😜☀️☀️
Great band that put on a great show at a favorite venue of mine.
Amazing show both nights at the Fox. RIP Phil Lesh.
Attended both nights. Never gets old. Their creativity and energy is off the charts
I’ve seen Joe Russo’s Almost Dead countless times but this one was cathartic with Phil Lesh having died the morning of the second show. It was so moving and so good to be there. It helped cleanse my soul.
Saturday night at the Fox is why I love live music! Pure electric start to finish!! Unreal performance by an amazing band!
First of all JRAD is the next best thing if you can’t see any of the remaining members of the original band. They really jam hard, it’s serious rock-n-roll. I think they mix it up well too, throwing in some songs you may not expect. The Fox theater is surprisingly nice. You think of Oakland, at least what you hear on the news, and you may be skeptical. But the theater is in a decent part of town and i felt safe. Also, the venue is nice! The sound is good, there’s room, and it’s just a good place to see a show. Go see JRAD!
This band is absolutely incredible, go see them, and go see them again.....I know I will!
Have yet to see a bad JRAD Show. About as consistent as the sun rising and setting.
One of my favorite things about seeing live music is getting up close to the stage and experiencing the ensemble dynamics that the band members themselves experience. In the case of this show, I think the bandmates couldn’t have been enjoying themselves more. There were moments of pure joy on their faces, smiles and jokes passed around. Pure excitement and wonder at what the other was doing - even some surprises when they all arrived in an unexpected place. It’s a treat to hear GD and other repertoire live when played so well by such accomplished musicians. They might use some vocal development, but the jams are so tasty that it’s all forgivable. This show was truly a pleasure and I left feeling somehow melancholy that the real Dead are so long gone, but nourished by the reconnection through music and shared audience experience. Thanks for the love, guys!
Although the first set was impacted by a somewhat muddy sound, the second set was much improved. The sound was more dialed in and the set list was excellent! JRAD carries the Grateful Dead legacy ' furthur'! Excellent musicianship and tight but loose jams if that is such a thing!
The venue at Leader Bank Pavillion was a pretty chill spot. Smaller for sure but effective with really great, friendly staff. We were in the back at the tables and could still see the stage quite well and had lots of room to dance then just hang. Sound quality was excellent. As far as the actual performance of JRAD, while fabulous musicians, was sort of a meh for me. Maybe I was expected to really be WOWED because I’ve heard so many great things. They were good, no doubt, but I can say I much prefer DSO after seeing them a few times. DSO jams HARD… JRAD felt, to me, just super chill and like they would die out with their energy before the end of any tune. Couldn’t keep the jam really going. Maybe I just didn’t get the best high energy show? I would certainly see them again though. Also, I’ll say the intermission felt extra long and the actual show ended at 10:25 prompt. Felt a bit gypped for the 💰 and that it was just another streamlined gig on their tour. Will try again though and would return to LBP!
