  • JRAD at the Pageant

by GratefulDoug on 2/19/18The Pageant - St LouisRating: 2 out of 5

Possibly the worst sound I've heard at the Pageant for a pro band charging close to 50 per ticket after fees. Never could hear the left side guitar player clearly, no matter where I stood. Not sure if it's the band's or the venue's fault. The music itself was worthy, although the last time I pay that much to see them there. They sounded like a different band at Red Rocks last summer.

  • Meh

In the band's defense I was still battling a cold and just not feeling the entire evening. The venue was extremely oversold so it was absolutely packed which is miserable if you don't have a table. One could not even find a comfortable place to stand and it required an excruciatingly long wait just to get water and soda and it was impossible to even get to a bathroom without having to elbow your way there. Band was talented but they like to go off on tangents every other song, which not even the Dead could always get away with. JRAD ended up playing far fewer songs simply because they stretched so many of their songs into boring psychedelic tangents. Tickets were unreasonably expensive for what this band is. There are other Dead cover bands that are far more fun and cheaper too.

Great representation of the Dead but with their own twist on jams. Would definitely go see them again

  • Not my style

by ChicoNYC on 12/12/17House of Blues Boston - BostonRating: 2 out of 5

Versions of dead songs that were not in the style of the Grateful Dead. Tempos way too fast. Seems to me like they are capitalizing on the new wave of interest in Dead music for millenial fans. Good musicians but should go play some original music of their own

I have never seen a bad JRAD show and the Fillmore show was no exception. Joe Russo's band is terrific and had fun at the Fillmore.

  • Jrad Fillmore

by Jslib on 11/27/17The Fillmore Philadelphia - PhiladelphiaRating: 3 out of 5

11 songs in 3.5 hours. Toooo much jam. Over the past 30 years i’ve seen my share of dead, allmans etc and I love a jam band as much as the next guy but this was over the top. Still a good time but not sure I’d go again.

  • really good.. not the best so far

JRAD blew me away. I was lucky enough to be pretty close to the band (5th row), and watching the on stage interplay between each member was really fun. They were incredibly tight. Their twist on each song kept you guessing. They "spaced" almost every song, and when they came back together out of a jam, they did it with a force and command that I haven't seen in a long time. Highlight for me was Help>Slipknot!>Throwing Stones. Keep it up guys and please come back to Nashville soon!
