About

What's crazier than spending 6 hours a day EVERYDAY with a room full of eight-year old’s? The answer is...not much. Comedian and online sensation, Joe "Mr. D" Dombrowski, walks you through the insanity of elementary school teaching with his stand-up comedy tour, Indoor Recess.

Joe "Mr.D" Dombrowski is a stand-up comedian and also, somehow, a full-time elementary school teacher in Seattle, Washington. Since Joe's viral fake spelling test prank in 2017, he has been traveling the world making people laugh at the reality of working with kids aka "booger eaters." Joe has been featured multiple times on the Ellen DeGeneres Show, Pickler & Ben, GMA, BuzzFeed and more.

Dombrowski's goal is to inspire educators to be engaging, passionate and to never lose the spark that brought them to teaching in the first place to ensure their students are viewing school as place they want to be versus have to be.

Don’t miss Joe Dombrowski for the first time in Australia!

Joe Dombroski's show was hysterical! His 2 openers, Gaspare Randazzo and Kevin Dombrowski kicked off the showed brilliantly. Joe had a way of making you feel like you were friends with him while he was on stage. Our faces hurt from laughing so much!

  • Meh.

Joe was funny when he made jokes about being a teacher. I expected that to be most of the show. His humor centered around other topics that I just didn’t find humor in. Just not my taste. No harm, no foul. In addition, the couple next to me were obnoxiously loud and drunk, and vaping inside (was not a vape inside kind of place). I had to find security and ask them to do something about it. They did speak to the couple but it didn’t stop them from vaping and being distracting.

  • Venue allowed audience to be disruptive

Amazing show! My review has nothing to do with the comedian but the venue. A large group next to me talked the ENTIRE show. One member even got up and walked up to the stage and tried to interact with the comedian. There was even a venue worker standing next to the group and did nothing about it. Not sure I’ll go back to the venue if they allow the audience to talk and be disruptive during the show.

  • Hilarious, but targeted

Incredibly funny show, had me literally laughing uncontrollably more than once. However, you won't understand many of his jokes if you haven't worked in or adjacent to lower education.

  • Fantastic show!

Joe Dombroski was hilarious! I think I laughed for 2 hours straight and felt great! I’m a recent retired teacher who has been following him before the pandemic and his humor was much needed at that time. You never know what a performance will bring in person but he did not disappoint! Great venue and awesome experience!!

Joe was awesome and so was his opener. Nice to have an early show like this. Concessions were nice. Would have appreciated more info from the venue about parking.

Joe is a hilarious storyteller and a great physical comic. I always enjoy his live shows.

He gets all the teacher woes and adds his own personal anecdotes, some make you blush. Just what I hoped for and my teacher bestie I took LOVED IT! My kindergarten teacher heart felt SEEN!! Would see him again!!
