    Joe Bonamassa was fantastic!

by lazman123 on 5/2/10Keith Albee Theater - Huntington

I was fortunate enough to order early so I had great seats. Joe is quite a showman and moved around alot on stage. He is one of the greatest guitarists I have ever seen. The band sounded fantastic! I wish I had purchased tickets for Lexington and Dayton, also! He is worth seeing over and over, I am sure!

2nd time seeing Joe and he gets better each time! Equipped with an aresenal of guitars (I think he used 11 different ones throughout the show) and a great lineup of songs this guy plays like no other. He's always professional and the crowd was lovin it.

    Bonamassa was fantastic!

by jflemi00 on 5/2/10Lexington Opera House - Lexington

I just know I will run out of adjectives, but this concert was AMAZING. Joe was a precise playing, heartfelt, blues-soaked genius on stage. Every penny spent on these tickets was worth the awesome experience! From the gorgeous display of instruments, to the spine-tingling solos (ESPECIALLY THE ACOUSTIC SET), this concert was a TRIP from start to finish. I would go back tomorrow!!!

I've been listening to Joe Bonamassa for years, but this was the first time seeing him in person. Awesome concert! My only complaint was that at times the drums and the back up drowned out hearing some of the lyrics. He was even nice enough to sign autographs and take pictures. I'll definately go see him again in person!

Joe Bonamassa triumphant in West Virginia

by fkdavis on 5/2/10Keith Albee Theater - Huntington

The concert was phenomenal. Joe crammed a lot of music into a two-hour concert. BLUES, rock mixture. The band was extremely tight, and his playing was out of this world. Sound was also top-notch.

    Awesome

by Dannyd332 on 5/2/10Lexington Opera House - Lexington

As he always was in the past (3 time of seeing him) his skill at playing is amazing. Seeing him live is the ultimate. He is much more a live artist than a studio player. We hung out at the bus afterward and he was the nicest guy!! And there was quite a crowd there. Definitely a don't miss show if you get any where close

    Joe was un-freakin-believable

by CharlesH1975 on 5/1/10Lexington Opera House - Lexington

I knew Joe Bonamassa was a great guitar player, but I never knew he was that amazing. Joe showed why, in my opinion, he is the greatest guitar player today. He can get sounds out of guitars that seem almost impossible. The show was absolutely amazing and I can't wait for Joe to come back to Kentucky.

Bonamassa Burns Down the Opera House!!!

by Gaiterbugg on 5/1/10Lexington Opera House - Lexington

From the opening notes of "The Ballad of John Henry" to the closing of "Just Got Paid" Joe Bonamassa had the 1100 fans packing the Old Opera House rockin' in their seats. He played seemingly non-stop for two hours mesmerizing the audience on a variety of guitars, shredding with the best of the speed-metal masters one minute and then coaxing cries and wails dripping with melancholy with the delicate touch of a neuro-surgeon the next. He sang favorites like "Sloe Gin" , "If Heartaches Were Nickels", and "High Water Everywhere" as well as new selections, "Quarryman's Lament" and "Blue and Evil", from his latest album "Black Rock". His band played strong and tight behind him, laying down a heavy backbeat and letting Joe shine. There is no better blues/rock guitarist and showman in the business today!

    Bonamassa in the bluegrass

by OldDogNeutrix on 5/1/10Lexington Opera House - Lexington

Joe was in rare form last night in Lexington KY. His mastery of the guitar was a perfect match for his vocals as he showed a sold out Lexington opera house crowd what he has been serving up worldwide for over twenty years. His two hour set list covered hits from his past as well as the recent disc "Black Rock". A few songs into the show Joe introduced the band and announced that this was his first show in Lexington and that he should come back soon. He mentioned playing in Louisville in the past drawing boos from many in the crowd. Perhaps Joe was not familiar with how petty many UK fans can be! Despite the ill mannered outbursts another flawless show from "smokin Joe Bonamassa" Just curious about Carmine Rojas's patch over his left eye. Spotted him crossing the street to a pub before the show and he wasn't wearing it. He played the entire show perched on a tall stool. Not that it affected his usual soul fired groove he brings to every song but I missed the stage interaction he and Joe exchange. Bring it back to the Blugrass Joe!!!

Great Concert, Fantastic Venue, volume too loud

by mobettablues on 5/1/10Lexington Opera House - Lexington

Joe B is a phenomenal guitar player and performer. Can't go wrong going to one of his performances. However, the overall volume in a smaller venue like the Lexington Opera House needs to be toned down a bit. Balance between instruments and microphone was off - couldn't understand a word he sang.

    Great music

by DaveMilGuy on 5/1/10Lexington Opera House - Lexington

Joe is a outstanding artist. He pretty much played non-stop for 1 hour 45 minutes. The only bad thing about the concert, had nothing to do with the music. The middle tier section at the Opera House was very hot. No air flow. That is minor compaired to how good the music was, but I felt like I was melting.
