Concert was wonderful! The smaller venue in Macon was perfect! Parking was great and so easy to get to! The entire show was amazing! We really enjoyed!
Disappointed. I had to leave after 30 minutes because it was just so very LOUD. No idea of the lyrics, for the individual band members it was hard to distinguish them apart, listening with a finger in one ear. Not very enjoyable, too loud. Why stay? Had to leave because I was concerned about hearing damage. Disappointed.
The evening was perfect. The venue is always enjoyable and good for everyone to see the event. Joe Bonamassa is the best guitarist that we have ever seen. His band was very talented and professional. We had looked forward to this concert and it did not disappoint our expectations. We look forward to further events at this venue. Thanks to all that were involved in the planning and preparation for the conce
Having seen JoBo several times in the past 5 years this show was one of the best I've seen. The band was very cohesive. They are all such great players and singers. This if first time I have seen the drummer do a solo, and he was great. Joe got the audience on their feet and was very engaged with them. The only negative thing I can say about the whole show was I could not hear the cymbals from the overhead mikes. I could hear the high-hat but rarely could I hear the other cymbals. Please pass that info to the sound techs. Aside from that detail, it was another outstanding show.
My balcony seat was great for viewing but I was just under speaker! Very loud. Sound system not great. Joe B was great!
Joe never disappoints. Wish the vocals were better and could tell it was sound system not his voice. High energy concert that he seemed to enjoy the crowd and venue.
My wife and I sat down within 5 minutes of the start of the show. JB started off hard and fast. He continued through the show without all that nonsense talking that some artists do. The music was loud and the vocals louder. Which is great, but not in the Macon City Auditorium because in the balcony where we sat the vocals just couldn't be heard clear enough to make out the lyrics. We love JB and listen to him all the time and turn the volume up. The vocals are clear. All in all, we loved the concert even with the distorted vocals. We would love to see JB live again. We just hope he plays at the new outdoor venue instead of the auditorium.
The show was good. A lot played from new CD. I wish some of my fav from older top selling CD’s were played. If you’re disabled, the venue is horrible . It seats 2700. But the reason is because they crammed to many seats in the balcony. The rows are to close together. I’m 5’1”. I was crowded. No leg room. My husband is 5’9” and he was basically chewing his knees. The back walkway between the seats and the wall was filled with tall patrons who could no longer handle the cramped seats. It was hot. The AC was barely on. They dont care about the disabled a lot. I was told no wheelchair seats were left when I purchased. Thats why I ended up in the balcony. I was hoping for a better view. Being so short, I struggle to see the stage in smaller venues like this where the stage is really tall . Even if I was able to get the few wheelchair seats they sell at the Macon Center Auditorium ,I still wouldnt have been able to see. They dont have a dedicated section on the side or even one of those removable raised platforms that Ive sat in at other concerts in the past. They also gave me a hard time entering the venue. They didnt want to allow me to bring in my pillows I need for my spine. Once that argument was over, I was told I had to carry the 2 pillows while walking with a cane because the large shopping bag I was carrying them in was not clear. I argued that you see this is the only thing in the bag. They didnt care. Never ever will I go back to this venue unless Prince returns from the dead and wants to play here.
Joe Bonamassa is very gifted. I love his blues style. I also love his rock style. He's probably the best guitarist in the world. He is very gifted. I loved the concert. I'm glad it was held at the Mark C. Smith hall. Parking was very convenient. The hall is just the right size to make it feel personable. I enjoyed the whole experience.
It was the beast , Joe was spot on . We just wish beth hart was there with him .
Just some thoughts on the Joe Bonamassa concert last night... I have seen him many times on TV and it sounded ok... Seeing him live is a whole different story... On the TV episodes, the sound is only coming through your TV speaker or sound bar... Trust me on this one... Live is completely different... This is a professional tour... Everyone in the band is a professional musician or singer... The stage set up is awesome... The lighting is through the roof... The sound system is damn near perfect with professional sound guys operating the sound... The sound of the guitars and the powerful bass beat of those blues songs were very powerful... My head was bobbing back and forth all night to the fantastic beat of the music... I looked around and everyone in there was bobbing just like me... I am an ole blues guy and I love this style of music... The difference between TV and a live performance is similar to this... A midget or high school football game... Then going to Athens and seeing the Dawgs... They just don't compare... With the great sound system, you can hear Joe play the guitar like no other man on the planet... He can tear up a guitar... If you like great guitar playing... Joe is the guy that will fill your needs... I watched how fast he could change the controls of the guitar, then play so many different sounds and tones from those controls... The speed of his fingers and hands sliding up and down the neck of the guitar were unreal and it sounded perfect... The place was packed... Most of the folks looked to be 40 years old and older... I guess young folks don't like this style of music anymore... Funny, when I was young, the crowds at concerts were mostly young folks... I guess young folks like rap music and stuff like that... I despise rap music... They played for 2 hours... From 8 bells to 10 bells... Joe Bonamassa is an arena type band... JB does unbelievable inside arenas like the auditorium and places of that size... I don't think JB is a stadium playing band like Pink Floyd or the Rolling Stones... In closing let me say this... One of the best performances I have seen in my life and I have seen many great bands over the years... The difference between great performances and average performances is the professional crew, musicians, sound system, lighting, being on time, etc... If you haven't seen Joe Bonamassa... Put it on your bucket list... You can thank me later...
My brother and I did a Meet and Greet with Joe prior to the concert. This was an exciting and great experience. it is always neat to meet an artist and have just an everyday conversation. the show itself was a stellar performance. The music just gets better every time I see Joe in concert. i was front row and almost center, so the sound was well balanced.
Joe Bonamassa is a masterful guitarist and a cool dude. His entire band was awesome.
A powerful blues entertainer….very respectful to all!
normally a concert starts at 9 pm, like as in we're adults , but not with homeboy, he needs the extra hour to crash in his his , i'm 60 , concerts for a life time , first and only start time at 8 pm , my mommie said thank u ,
JoBo always delivers. Most awesome guitarist that blows the roof off the house no matter where I see him play.
It was awesome we all get older but his music will live forever.
Best show I have seen from Joe!! All are fantastic, and I see him regularly, but this show was electric!! Crowd was fantastic, the Venue was perfect and Joe seemed truly relaxed and fabulous!!
Joe Bonamassa is the best blues guitarist of his generation and this show did not disappoint. His next pair of shows are at the Royal Albert Hall. I wish I could have seen him there, but the Macon City Auditorium holds its own.
Excellent Musician! Great performance- he ROCKED the house. Great venue as well- acoustics are awesome here.
