Born in Brooklyn in 1933, Joan Rivers earned a degree in English literature and anthropology before finding her way to the stage in the late '50s. Cutting her teeth in small Greenwich Village comedy clubs and local theater productions, Rivers biting wit and fearless attitude soon landed her recurring roles on various talk shows, including The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson. Carson made her is regular guest host in 1983, a catalytic moment in her rise to fame and a precursor to the 1986 debut of her own show The Late Show Starring Joan Rivers. Over the years, Rivers has built one of the most multi-faceted careers in entertainment, enjoying success as a stand-up comedian, an author, a talk show host, a fashion correspondent, and numerous other endeavors. Back on the road, Rivers will treat fans to her signature off-color comedy on a string of highly anticipated tour dates.

Although I am not considered a big fan of Joan, she is extremely entertaining. There is nothing that is sacred in her subjects and that is what makes her funny. She crosses all boundaries and targets everyone. She has a non stop show that delivers punch line after punch line.
Overall Joan was hysterical and hilarious. My only issue is she was really mean spirited at some points that were not funny - just mean. For example, when speaking of the Crocodile Hunter's daughter, Bindy, she went on about how much "I hate that kid!". That was it - not funny, just mean. I've seen Joan several times over the years and she's always fabulous. I did notice a difference this time - more mean and less funny. Again, for the most part she was really great - tons of energy and just hysterical. Opening act was wonderful, too. I was disappointed Joan didn't talk about Celebrity Apprentice as it had just recently ended. Maybe she's not allowed for some reason? She never mentioned her feud with Annie at all - I was looking forward to hearing about that.
