Ever since she took center stage in 1982 classic No. 1 “I Love Rock n’ Roll,” Joan Jett and her band scored hit after hit, ranging from the soft “Crimson and Clover” to the edgy “I Hate Myself for Loving You." After her much-publicized appearance in the 2013 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, Jett reached out to a newer, younger generation of fans who totally rocked out to her high-energy vibe and powerhouse voice. The parade appearance topped off a banner year for Jett and her band, The Blackhearts, a year that included the release of “Unvarnished,” an album that spawned yet another Jett mega-hit, “Any Weather.” Even with her salty punk vibe, she quickly gained mainstream fame, so much so that Jett and her Blackhearts were the first rock group to perform on Broadway during the 1980s in a concert series that broke records for the fastest ticket sell-out.
Rejecting the glamorous pop-diva image, Jett has reveled in creating her own style of in-your-face, girl-from-the-other-side-of-the-tracks Gothic glamor that greatly influenced the subsequent generation of female rockers. A bona fide activist, Jett is considered a role model for generations of women because of her commitment to feminist causes. In addition, she is an outspoken animal rights activist and is heavily involved with groups like PETA. In 2010, Jett released a successful two-disc "Greatest Hits" album, which she followed in 2013 with “Unvarnished," a moving, uncompromising album. Jett is as much in the limelight as ever; and even her iconic “I Hate Myself For Loving You” has been transmogrified into the Sunday Night Football Theme for NBC. in 2014 Jett, along with her Blackhearts band, continue to tour throughout the world with her belty, tuneful voice; energetic, charismatic presence; and vibrant, resonating lyrics.

Joan is wonderful every time I see her live. Set list is always perfect and the band is some of NY's best. Acey Slade on bass was a nice surprise, as i'm a huge Murderdolls / Dope fan. Sound was perfect as well. Del Mar fair always runs great sound...
Joan Jett can still hold her own after all these years. Great performance, every song was great an the she had the crowd rocking! I would definitely pay to see her again.
The show and the atmosphere were as good as it gets! The energy was high, and the people were all very courteous. The venue was clean and convenient.
It was wonderful, great, and we want to go again. A little bugged by the traffic problem in parking lot.
This show was great. 1st time seeing her, but long time fan! I hope she returns to San Diego some time soon. Even though she didn't do a couple of tunes I would of like to hear, but that is to be expected! This women can rock out like she was still in her 20's!
This was my second time seeing Joan Jett at the Del Mar Fair, and she was absolutely amazing. She gives it her all on stage and obviously loves performing for her fans. Age is no factor for this woman, she's going to be rocking out well into her 90's. If you haven't seen her yet, make sure to do so! It's a concert you'll never forget.
Joan Jett and the Blackhearts rocked the house! It was a really fun concert with the focus on their main hits and getting the crowd involved. They played hot and heavy for an hour and a half. I hope to see them again -- Joan Jett is amazing and the Blackhearts rock!!!!
Joan Jett And The Blackhearts were absolutely amazing !! i would highly recommend seeing her live she is a great performer and she interacts with the crowd and her voice is amazing at 52 !!
joan jett had so much energy and got the croud going! the blackhearts were amazing
Joan was on top of her game! Thommy Price on drums was powerfull and on the mark like a Pro. After all these years they can still bring down the house! She Rocks!!!!!!
Loved the show!!!! I took my daughter for her 5year old birthday. I took her last year to see Joan Jett (her first concert ever!!!) for her 4th b-day. We all had a blast!!!!!
After all these years, Joan Jett still has the energy to keep a crowd dancing and singing along with her. The band was great, the venue was great, her songs were great. I went last year (when it was great, despite the technical difficulties through Crimson & Clover) and this year I went with 10 friends and had an absolute blast! I will go as long as she keeps playing. :)
I thought Cherie Currie was going to be doing a song or two with Joan. But as it turned out Cherie had her own band, wich opened for the Black Hearts and were great. Joan looked a bit tired and unenthusiastic. but I still love her and can hardly wait to see her again.
This was my first time seeing Joan Jett and I must say she was awesome! She kept the crowd rocking. Cherie Currie was also great! I was hoping to see them do a duet together. Oh well, maybe next time ladies
very fun the music wasnt too loud it was perfect. i had a great time
I was soooo stoked to know that Joan Jett & Blackhearts and Cherie Currie were performing that I bought the tickets without even thinking who I was going to take with me! I'm EXTREMELY happy that I went because both ladies rocked it! It was such an amazing performance!! I don't even care that I lost my voice the next day, it was well worth it!! I will definitely go the next time either one is performing because it was such a wonderful experience to see them live! =)
I did not expect this show to be that good. The performances and the audience were a lot of fun.
the best by far ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! must see she rocked!!!!!!!! love her to death!!
My husband and I went with a friend to see Joan Jett at the OC Fair. They were okay. They played all of the stuff they played in the eighties and that was about it. The guys in the band seemed more into it than Joan herself. She seemed to be going through the motions but not really putting herself out there. Loved seeing Cherie Currie open for her. Still had a good night out with the boys, a few beers, and a little rock-n-roll.
