Good while it lasted

Joan Jett grew up during a time when rock 'n' roll was off limits to girls and women, but as a teenager, she promptly blasted the door to the boys' club right off its hinges. After forming her band the Blackhearts in 1979, with whom Jett has become a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee, she has had eight platinum and gold albums and nine Top 40 singles, including the classics "Bad Reputation," "I Love Rock 'N' Roll," "I Hate Myself For Loving You," and "Crimson and Clover." With a career that has spanned music, film, television, Broadway, and humanitarianism, Joan Jett remains a potent force and inspiration to generations of fans worldwide. As a producer, she has overseen seminal albums by Bikini Kill, and the Germs' LA punk masterpiece 'GI.' Jett and Kenny Laguna (her longtime producer and music partner) co-founded Blackheart Records from the trunk of Kenny's Cadillac after rejections from no less than 23 labels. 40 years later, Blackheart is a thriving entertainment company producing music, film and television, and continues to champion emerging bands. Joan Jett and the Blackhearts continue to tour the world with headlining shows and alongside fellow rock legends like The Who, Green Day, Heart, Foo Fighters and Alanis Morrissette (Summer 2024). 'Bad Reputation,' a documentary about Jett's life, premiered to critical acclaim at the 2018 Sundance Film Festival. Following up on the band's 2022 release Changeup, their first-ever acoustic album, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts' EP Mindsets was released as a Record Store Day First vinyl piece on 11/24/23. Mindsets is available to stream now.

Joan only played for about an hour. Then that was it. I had not been to a concert in a long time. I was disappointed.
Overpriced for the quantity and environment of the show. My $130 ticket got me about 45 minutes worth of a show. No real stage presence and crowd was not as lively and excited as other shows. Positives were that the band plays and sings all the songs. Joan still has the voice to sing her catalog of songs.
I was so excited to see this concert as this was one of the first concerts I saw in college. I listened to the songs for a week before the show. She sounded great! Just like I remembered. The disappointing part was that she only played one hour! One hour on the dot! AND she did not come back out and do any encore! She played a song, they all lined up, said thank you and walked away! It was very disappointing to have no encore and only have 60 minutes of songs!
She sounded great. The band rocked. But it was way too short for the cost. One hour exactly. She played all of the hits but left us wanting more.
Joan Jett and the Blackhearts rocked but the show was very short. Joan and Band sounded great but this show was barely an hour. The crow was half into the show and the other half seamed like they couldn’t wait for the show to end and go to the casino. The venue is ok if you in the front third of the room but the seat in the back must of had a hard time seeing. The room is a long narrow rectangle with a flat floor.
Joan Jett played from 7:10 PM til around 8 PM Left the stage concert was over. $100 for 50 minutes, she sounded good but performance was too short no goodnight nothing . Folks weren’t sure what was going on. I have seen her several times in the last 40 years. This was super disappointing
The performance was amazing as always but the entire concert lasted only 1 hour. It was at the Turfway Park Casino and apparently they don’t let the performers play for much longer. I love Joan Jett but was so disappointed to pay as much as we did for an hour show.
Not a big fan of the venue. Concert at 7p and one wall of the room had exterior windows with no shades. Much better if darker. Also, a little disappointrd at no opener and only played for one hour. Joan Jett still rocks though.
I was very disappointed with the event. You were packed in like sardines, no opening act, and Joan Jett barely played an hour! Not worth the money!
JJ sounded great, she was entertaining and engaging with the crowd throughout. Only complaint would be the entire show was less than an hour. There was no opening act so it really seemed short.
The concert was only an hour with no encore. It was not priced or advertised as an hour long show. Extremely disappointing! We assume that the venue was the real issue but feel that Joan should've taken better care of her fans. Will definitely not go back to see shows at Turfway.
Concert only was an hour long. Shortest concert this year. I expected at least a couple hours. For the hour they played Joan and the Blackhearts were awesome! Paid a lot of money for good seats, Venue was great as was the sound! Easy to get to, hotel and food options for the areas were good.
Joan Jett was great, the Blackhearts were great. The show was less than 1 hour, why??? We paid over $80.00 for tickets. The venue was extremely disappointing. Small, toddler size seats so close together, very uncomfortable. There were 9 of us that attended and we all would like to know why the show didn’t last any longer.
For the cost of the ticket, the concert did not last very long. The concert should have been at least 90 minutes and the audience would have appreciated an Encore!!
Joan still has it; her band rocked the room and she did most of her hits to please us fans. I had a great time. However ... we expected at least a 90 minute show (the worker bees in the venue had told us that, and it is sorta expected that a concert of a full band be longer than 60 min.). I'd never been to Turfway Park in Florence, KY. It's a gambling casino, and clearly that is ALL they care about. They try to sell you a 'free' card for $40 on the way in. They cater to the casino goers far more than the concert goers. They clearly wanted the show to end before dark so people would stay longer and wander into the casino. Usually you leave a rock n' roll show wanting more, but in a good way ... I left this concert wanting more but feeling screwed over. The price of the tickets were reasonable, and the venue ROOM was fine, but having it in a casino is really a detractor for me. Never again. But Joan was awesome! Wonder why she didn't do an encore? The crowd tried to entice her back out for about 15 minutes, which is long considering she only played for 60. Great performance; venue sucked.
No info that there wouldn’t be an opening act, and definitely no information that even though tickets were full price…it was a 1 hour show?! Not worth the money…very disappointed!!!
For the money, it was too short of a show 1 hour max. Although the hype of seeing Joan Jett and hearing some good music, definitely a disappointment for paying $100/ticket for 1 hour of performance.
I LOVE Joan Jett!!!!! She DID NOT disappoint!!!! She put on one hell of a show!!!! Between her singing and her guitar playing......wow.... just wow!
