About

As one of today's premiere stand-up comedians, Jo Koy has come a long way from his modest beginnings performing in a Las Vegas coffee house. Jo's uniquely relatable comedy pulls inspiration from his colorful family that has reached all kinds of people and has translated into sold-out arenas around the world.

In 2022, Koy kicked off his Funny Is Funny World Tour by selling-out the Climate Pledge Arena (over 14,000 tickets) in his hometown of Seattle and ended the tour with a sold-out show at Tacoma Dome (over 19,000 tickets). Today, he continues breaking sales records at some of the most prestigious venues around the world including Mall of Asia Arena (Manila, PH), The Forum (Los Angeles), Coca-Cola Arena (Dubai), ICC Theatre (Sydney, AU), Radio City Music Hall (New York City), and FTX Arena (Miami) to name a few. This past November, Koy sold-out Madison Square Garden for the first time marking another milestone for the comedian. In 2017, Koy broke a record for the most tickets sold by a single artist at 23,000 tickets and 11 sold-out shows at The Neal S. Blaisdell Concert Hall in Honolulu. In response, the mayor's office in Honolulu proclaimed November 24th as "Jo Koy Day."

Koy recently starred in the Universal Picture film Easter Sunday, set around a family gathering to celebrate Easter Sunday, the comedy is based on Jo Koy's life experiences and stand-up comedy. Easter Sunday is currently available on Blu-ray, DVD and on-demand.

His highly anticipated 4th Netflix stand-up special, Live From The Los Angeles Forum premiered globally on September 2022. The special is a follow up to his 2019 Netflix special, Comin' In Hot. Koy has already had four highly rated and successful stand-up specials on Comedy Central and Netflix. In June 2020, the comedian released his first variety special, Jo Koy: In His Elements on Netflix in which Koy brings the laughs and beats to Manila, spotlighting local culture in a one-of-a-kind show featuring Filipino-American comedians, DJs and B-boys.

In 2021, Koy released his first autobiography, Mixed Plate: Chronicles of an All-American Combo with Harper Collins Publishers to raved reviews. In this funny and moving memoir, Koy uncovers the stories behind his stand-up: the conflict, the drama and the laughter as he struggles to find his place in the entertainment industry, his home and around the world.

In 2019, Jo Koy reached #1 on the Billboard Charts for his stand-up comedy album, Live From Seattle, and in 2018, he was given the prestigious "Stand-Up Comedian Of The Year" award at the Just For Laughs Comedy Festival in Montreal.

Currently Jo is performing on his Jo Koy World Tour. For more info on his comedy, book and tour dates, please visit: Jokoy.com.

    Jo Koy was fantastic!

by Traci999 on 12/13/11Spreckels Theatre - San Diego

Jo Koy had us laughing so much we were crying... His observations were so right on it was hysterical. I took my 16 year old son and he had a blast. We haven't laughed so much in a long time, it was great!

    He was HILARIOUS!!

by jepzMD on 12/12/11Spreckels Theatre - San Diego

JoKoy is one of the funniest guys out there. I live in LA county and I drove with my gf to san diego just to watch him. Ive been watching him on youtube for 3 years and seeing him live was long overdue. I thought he was better live because you get to see the whole show. His jokes often times refer to his previous jokes so it makes sense to watch the whole thing instead of just short clips on youtube. I would watch him again!

    Who knew he could sing?

by Bansheetattoo on 12/12/11Spreckels Theatre - San Diego

OMG, sooo funny. And Jo Koy could sing? BONUS! Totally blew me away. And he used my name (starts with the letter B) in his skit even though I am not a Filipino nurse (Filipino, yes, nurse, no). Keep going, "Josep", reinforce that no matter where we come from, we're all pretty much the same.

    Love Jo Koy, but...

by Mavis3 on 12/5/11Spreckels Theatre - San Diego

I didn't like the show as much as I thought I would. The jokes were fine, but too much of the show toward the end consisted of Jo doing some really amateurish singing, then he kept laughing at himself while singing (like when you're embarrassed doing bad karaoke). Since I was there for a comedy show, I was a little disappointed. Seems that he may have been using us, as his captive audience, to showcase his singing skills (ala Jamie Foxx style). He's actually got a little voice going on, but again, since we're paying for comedy, don't give us an R&B show. Opening acts were good.

    Could NOT stop laughing!

by Chromette on 12/5/11Spreckels Theatre - San Diego

This was my first ever stand up show and it was the funniest one to start off. Seeing Jo make everyone laugh and hearing him sing was by far the best thing I've seen in a while. Highly recommend everyone to see this man live more than once. Hahaha, you just don't know he'll say or do next ;) Thanks Jo!

Too much music, not enough COMEDY!

by SanDiego55 on 12/5/11Spreckels Theatre - San Diego

Endless "Old-Skool" hip-hop and R&B music played, which would be fine if we were paying $50/person to listen to music we could easily pull-up on our itunes or if this was a free high-school event. They brought on a singer named Jeremy Passion, who regurgitated already well-known songs, while trying to market his new album. LAME! It was unfortunate that Jo Koy re-used a few stories/jokes that I'm sure everyone has seen and heard on his TV performances. Jo Koy was very funny when he was telling jokes of new material or doing improv in response to the mood of the audience. He is a funny guy, but the direction or overall feeling of the show was awkward. Summary of EVENT: Hip-hop/R&B DJ+Too much music+singing+amateur opening comedy act+FUNNY Jo Koy+ Recycled jokes+too much singing of old R&B songs. Overall, the event was not "mainstream" enough, but geared toward filipino/minority group-think liking. I would NOT recommend this show if you do not REALLY enjoy listening and singing along to hip-hop and R&B! Next time Jo Koy and Company: MORE COMEDY ACTS, less D list musical performances!

We had so much fun at the show. We didn't have to wait long for the main act. Actually, the opening act was great and the DJ entertained the crowd.

Jo Koy Lights Out Tour was AMAZING

by Anonymous on 12/5/11Spreckels Theatre - San Diego

He's so funny and we were laughing the entire time!! He had special guest Jeremy Passion at his show here in San Diego and his performance was amazing as well! Passion and Jo Koy goofed around on the mic a bit. Great improv on both parts. Didn't know Jo Koy could sing! But he did really well! OVERALL AMAZING NIGHT! Still can't get over how good that show was

    Amazeballs!

by TheNotoriousMLB on 11/22/11Aladdin Theater - Portland

A group of 6 of us went to see Jo Koy! From the moment he walked on stage people were busting up. Mostly everything he did was improv and not scripted which was refreshing. Definitely going to see him again when he comes back through town!

Can't wait to see him again!

    by Stormyj7 on 11/22/11Aladdin Theater - Portland

He was spontanious, made jokes based on comments from the crowd, a lot of fun! My boyfriend was resistent to go because he thought he was being drug to a "chick" type comedy show since Koy is on Chelsea Lately, and ended up a huge fan, liking him better than Jerry Seinfeld. We can't wait to see him again, and even thought about following him up to Seattle to see him the next night. Come back to Portland soon Jo Koy!
