JJ and Mofro have put in the hours and it has paid off. The crowd was standing and rocking from the 1st note till they left the stage, They deserved every bit of the adulation too, JJ's song writing is superb and he has the vocal skills to match. The band is tight, talented and fun to watch. The Taft's acoustics were as always,Great! This along with a beautiful Cincinnati spring evening made the whole night one I'll remember.

by Crivitz on 6/11/12Webster Hall - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

What energy this guy gives off on stage. I would absolutely recommend one of his shows to any friend anywhere. The smaller the venue the better for him. It was intimate, he connected with the crowd and it was SUPER fun!!

  • The best

    by Tbkrekeler79 on 6/11/12Taft Theatre - CincinnatiRating: 5 out of 5

Jj Grey is the best band I've ever seen. I'm 32 years old and have looked for years for a band like them. A band that sings about the real stuff. The important stuff in life. Throughout their albums they have giving me inspiration and have given me hope that this good music still exists. Thank you.

  • JJ Grey @ The Paradise

by Anonymous on 1/28/12Paradise Rock Club - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

Been a fan for a couple of years. Band is a hidden gem...Soulful, passionate, tight, high energy, great crowd interaction. All band members are very talented. Back up band Monkey Junk was a pleasant suprise as well...Canadian Blues band with no bass player, but they rocked too!

  • JJ Grey and Mofro are amazing!

  • Nothing short of mesmerizing....

by mofroisit on 1/28/12Paradise Rock Club - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

Mofro & JJ are truly legends in their own time. As incredible as their recordings are, the feeling you get at their live show will stay with you forever.... Each song tells a story & captures a moment, transporting you to the blackwater swamp funk you're itching for. Art & Dennis tear it up on the horns, Anthony & Todd carry the rhythm like crazy, Anthony funkifies the joint on the organ, Trube rips it up, and JJ just puts on a hell of a show every time. The Paradise is a smaller venue, so there wasn't a bad spot in the house. It proves to be an intimate setting where Mofro just shines -- The energy was great & anyone in the crowd new to them will fall hard. Simply the best there is. Period.

  • JJ Grey & Mofro rock the house

by LiveShowBostonGuy on 1/28/12Paradise Rock Club - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

This was my first show of theirs. I will never miss them again when they play within driving distance. Simply a tremendous show. These guys bring tons of energy, and superior musicianship. Crowd was high energy. Sometimes I see a band like this and just wonder how they are not playing bigger venues and getting a bigger audience. Oh well, everybody else's loss. They played all my favorite songs. Horn section totally bangs it out, great guitar, and the bass and drums keep the whole thing going with a nice little kick to the rhythms. I have been to over 100 live shows in my life. This was top 10.
